1 SECTION GYPSUM BOARD ** ACCESSORIES ** PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY A. Related work specified elsewhere includes: 1. Rough carpentry. 2. Finish carpentry and millwork. 3. Metal support systems. 4. Plaster. 5. Gypsum board systems. 6. Painting. 7. Wallcovering. 1.2 SUBMITTALS A. Product data: Indicate product description, including compliance with specified requirements and installation requirements. Mark manufacturer's brochures to include only those products proposed for use. 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Applicable standards; standards of the following, as referenced herein: 1. Aluminum Association (AA). 2. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). B. ** Allowable tolerances in horizontal planes: 1. Variation from level: +1/8" in 12'-0". 2. Variation in plane of adjacent wallboard panels prior to joint treatment: 1/16". ** C. ** Allowable tolerances in framed vertical construction. 1. Position: +1/4" maximum variation from design position. 2. Alignment: 1/8" in 8'-0"; 1/4" maximum in any continuous wall, line or surface. 3. Surface smoothness: No joint or fastener location, roughness or blemish discernible after application of finish when viewed at any angle from a distance of 5'-0" under occupancy lighting conditions, with surface preparation as specified in Painting section. ** 1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Storage: 1. Stack accessories off floor on pallets or similar platforms providing continuous support for accessories to prevent sagging. Stack accessories so that long lengths are not over short lengths. 2. Do not overload floor systems. B. Handle materials to prevent damage to surfaces, edges and ends of sheet metal items. Reject and remove damaged material from site. 1.5 ** WARRANTY RETAIN WARRANTY FOR FLUOROPOLYMER FINISH ONLY. A. Finish warranty: Warrant fluoropolymer coating to remain free, under normal atmospheric conditions, from peeling, checking, cracking, chalking in excess of numerical rating of 8 when measured in accord with ASTM D , of fading in excess of 5 N. B. S. Units during warranty period. Warranty period shall be 5 years, beginning at Date of Substantial Completion. **

Submittals shall comply with requirements of Product Options and Substitutions section. ** 2.2 MATERIALS AND FINISH: A. Anodized finish: SELECT ON OF THE FOLLOWING FINISH OPTIONS. THE FOLLOWING IS THE STANDARD FINISH. 1. Architectural 200R1 medium etch (AA-M32c10A21), clear color. THE FOLLOWING IS A SPECIAL ORDER FINISH. 1. Class II, Architectural 204R1 medium etch 0.40 mils minimum (AA-M12C22A31), clear color. 2. Thickness of anodic coating shall be tested in accord with ASTM B and sealed to pass modified dye stain test ASTM B136-84(1998). ** OR ** A. Color anodized finish: 1. Two-step impregnated color Class II Architectural mils (AA-M12C22A33). 2. Thickness of anodic coating shall be tested in accord with ASTM B and sealed to pass modified dye stain test ASTM B136-84(1998). 3. 3 A. Prime paint: Factory spray and bake-on primer to serve as base for field painting. 2.3 REVEALS: EDIT THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPHS BASED ON PROJECT REQUIREMENTS. VERIFY RADIUS DIMENSIONS WITH MANUFACTURER BEFORE SPECIFYING. A. Reveal molding: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRM. a. Description: Molding shall create a vertical or horizontal recessed reveal. c. Dimensions: As indicated on drawings. B. F reveal molding: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMF a. Description: Trim reveal molding forming wall trim reveal where drywall terminates against sill, jamb, ceiling or other finish material in same plane. C. Snap-in reveal: 1. Acceptable product: Number ** DRM-SNAP-IN-625. ** DRMF-SNAP-IN-625. ** a. Description: Reveal used with F molding to provide different finish detail or to retain wallcovering edges. D. Z reveal molding: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMZ. a. Description: Reveal molding shall form a trim reveal around doors or between walls and floors. E. Reveal base: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMB. a. Description: Reveal base shall form damage-resistant base at bottom of wall. F. Expansion joint: 1. 4 cracking of drywall joints caused by minor settling of building. Maximum amount of movement is 3/8 G. Drywall corner reveal: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMW. a. Description: Reveal shall create stepped pocket at drywall. H. Step trim: 1. Acceptable product: Number DMST. a. Description: Trim shall create stepped reveal (either raised or recessed) for offset multiple layers of drywall. I. V reveal molding: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMV. a. Description: Molding shall create V-shaped recessed reveal in gypsum board walls. J. Reverse V reveal molding: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMVR. a. Description: Molding shall protrude from wall surface for a raised dimension effect. K. W reveal: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRWT. a. Description: Reveal shall create reveal at intersection of ceiling and wall. L. Reveal picture hanger: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMH. a. Description: Hanger shall create reveal which can be used as picture hanger track.

5 e. Hangers: Provide one snap-in hanger clip for each 1'-0" of hanger length. M. Reveal channel screed/control Joint: 1. Acceptable product: Number DCS. a. Description: Screed shall provide vertical or horizontal break in finish. e. ** Ventilation: Provide horizontal vents for air movement. ** h. Functions as a control joint in stucco and plaster applications when installed per ASTM C1063. N. F reveal: 1. Acceptable product: Number FDM. a. Description: Trim shall provide angled transition between finish layers. D. Edge trim: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRME. a. Description: Trim shall finish edges when multiple pieces of drywall are used to create recessed or raised panels in a wall. E. Radius corner trim: 1. Acceptable product: Number RCT-50. a. Description: Trim shall finish and protect outside corner F. Pocket trim: 1. Acceptable product: Number DMPT-75. a. Description: Trim shall provide smooth, in-place transition between drywall ceiling and acoustical ceiling without creating a reveal, and shall support acoustical ceiling system. G. Multiple step trim: 1. Acceptable product: Number DMOS. a. Description: Trim shall provide a multi-stepped trim for wall/wall or wall/ceiling conditions.

7 H. J molding: 1. Acceptable product: Number JDM. a. Description: Molding shall provide termination for drywall or wood panel, requiring no tape. I. Drywall molding end closure: 1. Acceptable product: Number DMEC. a. Description: Molding shall terminate wall, partition or cased opening. J. Top track: 1. Acceptable product: Number DMTT. a. Description: Track shall finish intersection of wall or partition with a ceiling with reveal appearance. K. Ceiling trim: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMCT a. Description: Trim shall provide joint between walls and ceilings and shall provide perimeter support for drywall ceilings. 2.5 CORNERS A. Stepped inside corner: 1. Acceptable product: Number DMIC a. Description: corner shall finish and accent inside corner at wall/wall or wall/ceiling intersections. B. Stepped outside corner: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMW a. Description: corner shall finish and accent outside corner at wall/wall or wall/ceiling intersections.

8 C. Multiple stepped outside corner: 1. Acceptable product: Number DMOS. a. Description: Corner shall form multiple stepped outside corner in vertical of horizontal intersection of drywall. D. Beveled corner: 1. Acceptable product: Number DMBC-75. a. Description: Corner shall be chamfered corner bead used to finish and protect outside corners of walls. E. Curved inside corner: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMC. a. Description: Corner shall provide curved inside corner. F. Curved outside corner: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRMC. a. Description: Corner shall provide curved outside corner. 2.6 COLUMN COLLARS: A. Column collar: 1. Acceptable product: Column Collar. a. Description: Three-piece collar shall provide a trim creating reveal at column/ceiling joint. b. Material: Aluminum molding, plastic spacer and adjustable stainless steel band. Description: Reveal shall provide reveal where acoustical ceiling meets drywall ceiling. B. Acoustical ceiling trim: 1. Acceptable product: Number DRAT. a. Description: Trim shall provide finish between walls and ceilings and provide perimeter support for acoustical ceilings. C. Acoustical molding: 1. Acceptable product: Number FDA. a. Description: Molding shall create step or offset between vertical drywall fascia and acoustical ceiling. D. W acoustical reveal: 1. Acceptable product: Number WARM-875-V-75. a. Description: Reveal shall provide termination for installation of 7/8" acoustical tile for

10 glued-in acoustic ceiling tile application. E. F Acoustical reveal: 1. Acceptable product: Number FARM-875-V-75. a. Description: Reveal shall provide termination of 7/8" acoustical tile for glued-in acoustic applications and provide reveal in ceiling at wall/ceiling joint. F. J acoustical trim: 1. Acceptable product: Number JAM-875. a. Description: Trim shall provide termination for installation of 7/8" acoustical tile in glued-in acoustic ceiling application. 2.8 BULLNOSES: A. Bullnose: 1. Acceptable product: Number DBN. a. Description: Bullnose shall form smooth radius end cap to terminate walls and to protect wall ends from impact damage. 2.9 FASTENERS: A. Fasteners: Exposed fasteners (provided by installer) shall be countersunk and shall match accessories in color. 1. Aluminum to aluminum: Aluminum or Type 302 or 304 stainless steel. 2. Aluminum to stainless steel or carbon steel: Type 302 or 304 Stainless steel FABRICATION: A. Mounting holes: Provide mounting holes B. ** Venting: Vent slots shall be 1" by 1/8" spaced 1-1/2" lengthwise. Each row of vent slots shall provide 1 square inch of free area per lineal foot. ** C. Make custom miters and intersections with welded corners or with high-strength industrial tape on backs.

11 D. Radius shapes shall be as indicated on drawings. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION: A. Install gypsum wallboard accessories in accord with manufacturer's product data and as follows: 1. Corner trim: Install at designated corners. 2. Metal trim shapes: Install at exposed edge of wallboard at door and window openings, at intersections with other materials and at intersection of walls with ceilings. 3. Install corner beads and metal trim shapes to framing system with mechanical anchors spaced at 7" o. c. for vertical applications, and 16 o.c. for horizontal applications. B. Joint treatment: Finish joints and attachment flanges as specified in Gypsum Board Systems section. C. Dust surfaces and leave ready for decoration. Joint and fastener treatment shall be indistinguishable in finished work. 3.2 PROTECTION A. Protect accessories from damage until date of Substantial Completion. Replace accessories which become damaged. END OF SECTION
