5 Part 1 GENERAL 1.1 Scope of wk The wk required includes the design, fabrication, delivery and installation of furniture and accessies: 1.2 Equivalence A. The bidders must respect the dimensions and components of the furniture indicated in the list. The pictures and drawings will help the bidders to satisfy the requested style. B. The appliances: The specified appliance models are given as reference. Bidders may propose equivalences. However, the models must meet exceed the specifications, features, finishes and quality of the products. C.The fabrics f all seats should be commercial grade. No exceptions. 1.3 Action and infmational submittals A.Product Data: Submit manufacturer s instructions, printed product literature and data sheets f furniture. Include product characteristics, perfmance criteria, physical size, finish and limitations. B.Sustainable Design Submittals:.1 Low-Emitting Materials:.3 The supply of samples of all available finishes and colours..4 The supplier of pictures/photos of the offered products..5 The supply of the shop drawing..6 The supply of training and instructions manuals to users..7 The supply of maintenance and assembly manuals. 1.4 Delivery, stage and handling A. C.Quality :Supplied components must be unifm in quality, clean free of any defects that may impair appearance service ability. D.Construction The component must be rigidly constructed and vibration free when used in nmal conditions F.Resistance/ strength :All materials and exposed surfaces must be colfast, as well as, wear, scratch, impact, rust and stain resistant. G.Finish and design : must be without roughness and sharp angles H.Assembling :All connections into the particle board ce must incpate a metal to metal joining system and must resist numerous assembling and disassembling. I.Welds :All welds shall be structurally sound, free from cracks, surface voids and inclusions any defects that may be detrimental to appearance solidity. All the exposed welds must be clean, unifm in appearance and ground smooth pri to the application of the final finish. J.Drawer slides :Each drawer must have full extension slides and crosion resistant. Part 3-MATERIALS & FINISHES A.Particle board : The particle board used as ce f panels must confm to CAN The humidity percentage must be from 6% to 8% when fabricating the various components. Exposed edges are not permitted. B.Plastic laminates :Plastic laminates must have a minimum of.79 mm (1/32 ) thick me. C.Adhesives :Adhesives used to apply plastic laminates must be able of achieving a tensile strength of 552kPa minimum when tested to ASTM C297 standards. Elastomeric adhesive with dispersed solvent is not allowed.
