2 Introduction We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to American Crescent Elevator. American Crescent Elevator Mfg., Corp. Was established in Sept when American Elevator (Est. 1908) and Crescent City Elevator (Est. 1973) were merged to form the American Crescent Elevator Corporation. In 1985 American Crescent Elevator Manufacturing Corporation was established to provide equipment to distributors on a nation wide basis. Since that time we have provided equipment to approximately 100 elevator companies including major elevator suppliers. We have supplied elevators for all branches of the Federal Government, including V.A. Hospitals. Our equipment is the latest state of the art design and incorporates some of the most trusted and reliable components in the elevator industry. Some of which are, Maxton valves, Allweiler and IMO pumps, Century and Leroy Summer motors, which make up the major components of our pump unit. All major components of the elevator are manufactured by American Crescent Elevator with the exception of the previously mentioned supplies. Our cabs are all custom built in house by quality craftsman with years of experience and knowledge. All cabs are completely assembled and checked for alignment and proper finish before crating and shipping. Slings and platforms are built from structural steel members accurately assembled for solid performance and reliability. Our jacks are constructed from the finest steel products available. Pistons are made from D.O.M. tubing, which is a superior product in finish, wall uniformity and concentricity. Because we manufacture the complete elevator package, we feel that we have better control of the product and can guarantee a firm delivery date. We hope this introduction has given you some insight on our organization and will allow you to look favorably at our product. We would like to invite you to visit our plant in Picayune, Mississippi any time you are in our area. If we can be of any assistance on your future projects, please do not hesitate to contact us.

12 Elevator Equipment Guide Shoes Provide guide shoes of approved design, the self aligning swivel type, with metal body and removable self lubricating nonmetallic liners Buffers Buffers shall be heavy spring type, mounted on supporting channels on the pit floor. Buffers shall be blocked up as required so the car will come to rest on a fully compressed buffer before the plunger reaches the down limit of travel in the event the car should for any reason pass the terminal stopping device Platform & Sling The platform shall have a fabricated frame of formed structural steel shapes, gusseted and rigidly welded. Flooring shall be wood top floor laid over steel subfloor. Finished floor covering shall be provided by on the top of the car platform by others. The underside of the platform will be fireproofed. The sling shall consist of heavy steel channel stiles properly affixed to a steel crosshead and bolster, with adequate bracing members to remove all strain from the car enclosure. Steel bumper plates shall be affixed to the bottom of the bolster channels, and a platen plate with sound deadening material to be furnished for fastening sling to plunger. Plunger The plunger will be accurately grounded and polished seamless steel. The bottom of the plunger will be fitted with a heavy steel disc, welded in place and provided with a suitable extended edge to provide a positive stop, designed to prevent the plunger from leaving the cylinder. The top of the plunger will be provided with an internal welded steel disc, drilled and tapped for fastening the plunger to the car platen plate. Cylinder The cylinder will be machined from steel pipe with a machined steel flange at the upper end and a steel bulkhead welded in the lower end. The cylinder will be provided with a suitable steel fitting for connection to the oil line and with an air bleeder. Heavy steel brackets, suitable for mounting to the elevator pit channels will be welded to the cylinder. Packing Gland A packing gland with guide bearing, wiper ring and packing especially designed for hydraulic elevator service will be provided. An oil collector ring and drain hole will be furnished.

13 Protective Wrap The cylinder will be protected by a single wrap of polyethylene tape bonded to the cylinder with a special corrosion resistant bonding agent. This wrap is designed to provide long term underground protection. Power Unit Submersible Type Oil pumping and control mechanism shall be compactly and neatly designed in a self-contained unit, steel outer base with tank supports, floating inner base for mounting motor/pump assembly overhead oil reservoir with tank cover and controller compartment with cover. The pump shall be especially designed and manufactured for oil/hydraulic elevator service. It shall be of the positive displacement type, inherently designed for steady discharge with minimum pulsation to give smooth and quite operation. Output of pump shall not very more than 10% between no load and the full load on the elevator car. Power Unit Isolation The entire unit shall be mounted on vibration dampeners, isolating the unit fro the structure. Hydraulic Muffler Designed to reduce pulsation noise which may be present in the flow of the hydraulic fluid. Muffler will be installed in the oil line concealed inside the power unit. Sound Isolation Coupling A minimum of shall be installed in the oil line between the pump and jack. Controller Microprocessor, with all components, switches to be mounted in a steel panel designed for mounting on the power unit. Valves Control valves including safety check valve, up direction valve with high pressure relief, including up leveling feature will be mounted in a compact assembly. Control valves will be solenoid operated and designed to open and close gradually to give smooth control. All valves will e readily accessible for adjustment and have emergency manual lowering features.

14 Automatic Two-way Leveling An automatic two-way leveling device will be provide so that the car will approach landing stops at a reduced speed from either direction of travel. The leveling device will, within it s zone be entirely independent of the operating device and is designed to automatically stop and maintain the car approximately level with the landing, regardless of change in load. Failure Protection The electrical control circuit shall be designed so that if a malfunction should occur, due to a motor starter failure, oil becoming low in the system, or the car failing to reach a landing in the up direction within a predetermined time, the elevator will automatically descent to the lowest terminal landing. If power operated doors are used, the doors will automatically open when the car reaches that landing allowing the passengers to depart. The doors will automatically close, and all control buttons except the DOOR OPEN button in the car station, shall be made inoperative. Holeless Arrangement Option Piston The pistons shall be in a twin jack arrangement. One jack located on either side of the car. The piston shall be accurately ground and polished seamless steel. The bottom of the pistons shall be fitted with heavy steel discs, welded in place and provided with a suitable extended edge to provide a positive stop designed to prevent the plunger from leaving the cylinder. The top if the piston shall be provided with an internal welded disc drilled and tapped for fastening piston gussets which fasten to the crosshead members. Cylinder The cylinders shall be machined from steel pipe with a machined flange at the upper end and a heavy steel bulkhead welded in the lower end. The cylinders shall be provided with suitable steel fittings for connecting to oil line and with air bleeders, Heavy steel plates suitable for mounting elevator pit channels shall be welded to the bottom of the cylinders.
