WEAR RESISTANCE LAMINAM is highly scratch and abrasion resistant. The properties of the slab remain unchanged even after intensive use, and frequent cleaning. HIGH STRENGTH Due to its excellent mechanical properties, Laminam is suitable for demanding applications like flooring. LIGHT WEIGHT With a weight of just 7kg per square metre, LAMINAM is very light, making it easier to handle, and reducing weight to building structures. FROST RESISTANCE LAMINAM s average water absorption is 0.1% so it s frost resistant and suitable for all weather conditions. REACTION TO FIRE LAMINAM does not contain organic material so it s resistant to fire and high temperatures. In the event of fire it does not release smoke or toxic substances. HYGIENIC SURFACE Because LAMINAM does not allow the formation of mould, bacteria and fungi, it is perfectly suitable for food preparation areas. UV RESISTANT LAMINAM does not contain organic pigments and is resistant to UV rays. The colours remain stable even when subjected to severe climate changes. 14 Laminam CS45 Ventilated Facade System The Laminam ventilated facade system provides the ultimate cladding solution for commercial buildings. The entire system is extremely light, meaning installation is easier and reduces load on the building structure. It also reduces the momentum during seismic events. The system allows movement between panels, without relying on sealants to remain weathertight. Because panels are mounted on individual cassettes, panels can be serviced easily at a later date if required. The system has a 45mm drainage cavity, to provide excellent ventilation and pressure equalisation. 30 Technical Info Made from porcelain stoneware, the slabs are produced using innovative technology; compacting the material before firing in a hybrid, dual-supply (gas then electrical) kiln at temperatures of over 1,220 C. This kiln is designed to ensure an even product. Slabs produced in this way are completely flat. Laminam is produced in all types in full size, 1000mm x 3000mm and smaller sizes can be produced by cutting or trimming to ensure accurate sizing. Laminam 3+ - Stocked in New Zealand in 3000mm x 1000mm slabs Laminam 3+ is made up of the basic porcelain slab with the structure reinforced with fibreglass matting applied to the back surface using special adhesive. The 3000mm x 1000mm slabs can be cut into other tile formats by local installers. All colours and designs are available in Laminam 3+. Uses of Laminam 3+: Normal wall tile applications; Floor tiles for normal foot traffic (not subjected to heavy wheeled traffic); Exterior cladding Nominal Thickness: 3.5mm Laminam 5: Imported to order A limited number of colours and designs are available in the Laminam 5 format. This is simply a thicker variant of the basic porcelain slab, without the requirement for fibreglass reinforcement. 31 Technical Info Warranty Laminex New Zealand provides a 10 year limited warranty for Laminam used in interior applications. A special 15 year warranty is available for Laminam when installed with the CS 45 ventilated cavity façade system. Please see for details. Cutting & Installation Laminam must be cut and installed by an approved installer. Recommended Adhesives Most reputable brands of tile adhesives have a suitable adhesive for installing Laminam a full list of suitable adhesives is available in the technical section of the Laminam website. Trims Special trims are available for Laminam tiles, available from Tilersmate and other suppliers. Care & Maintenance Laminam surfaces are easy to clean. For everyday cleaning, it is possible to use mild detergents. Please follow manufacturers guidelines and dilute cleaners when required. To remove particularly tough stains or residues, generally, it is advisable to carry out an initial clean with hot water and mild detergent. If this operation is not sufficient, depending on the nature of the staining agent, it is possible to use increasingly stronger cleaning techniques, using products such as Jif, Aquakleen or Fila tile cleaners.
