Product Data: Materials and details of design and construction, hardware locations, reinforcement type and locations, anchorage and fastening methods, and finishes; and one copy of referenced grade standard. Show anchorage and accessory items. D. Door Schedule: Submit schedule for doors and frames using same reference numbers for details and openings as those on Contract Documents. 1. Indicate coordination of glazing frames and stops with glass and glazing requirements. E. Label Construction Certification: For door assemblies required to be fire-rated and exceeding limitations of labeled assemblies, submit manufacturer's certification that each door and frame assembly has been constructed to conform to design, materials and construction equivalent to requirements for labeled construction QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing the products specified in this section with minimum three years documented experience. B. Fire-Rated Door Assemblies: Units that comply with NFPA 80, are identical to door and frame assemblies tested for fire-test-response characteristics per ASTM E 152, and are labeled and listed by UL, Warnock Hersey, or another testing and inspecting agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction. 1. Oversize Fire-Rated Door Assemblies: For units exceeding sizes of tested assemblies, provide certification by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction that doors conform to all standard construction requirements of tested and labeled fire-rated door assemblies except for size. 2. Temperature-Rise Rating: Where indicated, provide doors that have a temperature-rise rating of 450 deg F (250 deg C) maximum in 30 minutes of fire exposure. C. Maintain at the project site a copy of all reference standards dealing with installation DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Store in accordance with NAAMM HMMA 840. B. Deliver doors and frames cardboard-wrapped or crated to provide protection during transit and job storage. Provide additional protection to prevent damage to finish of factory-finished doors and frames. C. Inspect doors and frames on delivery for damage. Minor damages may be repaired provided refinished items match new work and are acceptable to Architect; otherwise, remove and replace damaged items as directed. D. Protect with resilient packaging; avoid humidity build-up under coverings; prevent corrosion. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 MANUFACTURERS A. Steel Doors and Frames: 1. Ceco Door Products: 2. Accessibility: Comply with ANSI/ICC A Door Top Closures: Flush with top of faces and edges. 3. Door Edge Profile: Beveled on both edges. 4. Door Texture: Smooth faces. 5. Glazed Lights: Non-removable stops on non-secure side; sizes and configurations as indicated on drawings. 6. Finish: Factory primed, for field finishing. B. Combined Requirements: If a particular door and frame unit is indicated to comply with more than one type of requirement, comply with all the specified requirements for each type; for instance, an exterior door that is also indicated as being sound-rated must comply with the requirements specified for exterior doors and for sound-rated doors; where two requirements conflict, comply with the most stringent STEEL DOORS A. Exterior Doors Type Fire Rated, 1 Hour: 1. Grade: ANSI A250.8 Level 3, physical performance Level A, Model 2, seamless. 16 ga. 2. Fire Rating: As indicated on Door and Frame Schedule. Provide units listed and labeled by UL. a. Attach fire rating label to each fire rated unit. 3. Core: Polyurethane. 4. Galvanizing: All components hot-dipped zinc-iron alloy-coated (galvannealed) in accordance with ASTM A653/A653M, with manufacturer's standard coating thickness. 5. Weatherstripping: Separate, see Section Finish: Factory primed, for field finishing. B. Interior Doors, Fire-Rated: 1. Grade: ANSI A250.8 Level 1, physical performance Level C, Model 2, seamless. 2. Fire Rating: As indicated on Door and Frame Schedule, tested in accordance with UL 10C ("positive pressure"). a. Provide units listed and labeled by UL. b. Attach fire rating label to each fire rated unit. 3. Core: Cardboard honeycomb. C. Panels: Same construction, performance, and finish as doors STEEL FRAMES A. General: 1. Comply with the requirements of grade specified for corresponding door, except: a. ANSI A250.8 Level 1 Doors: 16 gage frames. b. ANSI A250.8 Level 3 Doors: 14 gage frames. 2. Finish: Completely factory finished. 3. Provide mortar guard boxes for hardware cut-outs in frames to be installed in masonry or to be grouted. B. Exterior Door Frames: Fire Rated. Face welded, seamless with joints filled. 1. Galvanizing: All components hot-dipped zinc-iron alloy-coated (galvannealed) in accordance with ASTM A653/A653M, with manufacturer's standard coating thickness. a. Fire Rating: Same as door, labeled. 2. Finish: Factory primed, for field finishing. 3. Weatherstripping: Separate, see Section ACCESSORY MATERIALS A. Glazing: As specified in Section , factory installed. B. Removable Stops: Formed sheet steel, shape as indicated on drawings, mitered or butted corners; prepared for countersink style tamper proof screws. C. Grout for Frames: Portland cement grout of maximum 4-inch slump for hand troweling; thinner pumpable grout is prohibited. D. Silencers: Resilient rubber, fitted into drilled hole; 3 on strike side of single door, 3 on center mullion of pairs, and 2 on head of pairs without center mullions. E. 6 SAHA Blanco Apartment Improvements FINISH MATERIALS A. Primer: Rust-inhibiting, complying with ANSI A250.10, door manufacturer's standard. B. Factory Finish: Complying with ANSI A 250.3, manufacturer's standard coating of color as selected. C. Bituminous Coating: Asphalt emulsion or other high-build, water-resistant, resilient coating. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. Verify existing conditions before starting work. B. Verify that opening sizes and tolerances are acceptable PREPARATION A. Coat inside of frames to be installed in masonry or to be grouted, with bituminous coating, prior to installation INSTALLATION A. Install in accordance with the requirements of the specified door grade standard and NAAMM HMMA 840. B. In addition, install fire rated units in accordance with NFPA 80. C. Coordinate frame anchor placement with wall construction. D. Grout frames in masonry construction, using hand trowel methods; brace frames so that pressure of grout before setting will not deform frames. E. Coordinate installation of hardware. F. Coordinate installation of glazing. G. Coordinate installation of electrical connections to electrical hardware items. H. Touch up damaged factory finishes TOLERANCES A. Clearances Between Door and Frame: As specified in ANSI A B. Maximum Diagonal Distortion: 1/16 in measured with straight edge, corner to corner ADJUSTING AND CLEANING A. Adjust for smooth and balanced door movement. B. Prime Coat Touchup: Immediately after erection, sand smooth any rusted or damaged areas of prime coat and apply touchup of compatible air-drying primer SCHEDULE A.
