Sign and return this addendum (attachments not necessary) with your Tender submission as confirmation that the addendum was taken into consideration. DETAILS OF ADDENDUM: This four page addendum is issued as follows: OPTIONAL PRICING (not included in the Stipulated Price) Re-use of N-Building Equipment References: Specification Section Summary of Work (ETS and Steam), Specification Section Demolition for Minor Works, Drawing M N-Building Primary Loop ETS Demolition Plan. Provide alternative/optional line item costs to re-use selected steam-to-water components from N-Building. Individual line items shall be priced appropriately to allow the Owner to enact only the individual line items of their choosing. The Contractor is responsible for incorporating the existing equipment into the design drawings. If pipe routes or equipment location modifications are required, notify the Consultant immediately. The Contractor is responsible for confirming if salvaged equipment meets the technical specifications. 2 Addendum #1/Tender /Page 2 of 4 CLARIFICATIONS Instructions to Bidders, Item 14 Tender Enclosures/Requirements: Item , Change to Read: Where a bid bond is submitted as Bid Security, the bid bond shall be in an amount of not less than 10% of the Total Tendered Price. Tender Summary Form: Please delete lines 34, 44 and 54 from the pricing tables as these are duplicates. 1. Subject: Testing Requirements Reference(s): Spec Section District Heating Primary Piping, Valves and Fittings Spec Section Pipe Welding Action(s): All joints are to be hydrostatically tested to 1.5X the design pressure for a minimum of 4 hours. All joints must be exposed and visually accessible for the duration of the pressure test. X-ray examination will be required of welds that cannot be hydrostatically isolated (i.e. tie in welds). These x-rays are not included in the specified cash allowance on the bid form(s). 2. Subject: Owner Initialed X-ray Testing, Failed Tests Reference(s): Spec Section District Heating Primary Piping, Valves and Fittings Spec Section Pipe Welding Action(s): The Owner reserves the right to x-ray up to 10% of the competed welds at their own discretion. It is the responsibility for the Contractor to carry out these tests and relay the results back to the Owner or Consultant. These costs are carried under the cash allowance. If a weld fails a non-destructive test, the Contractor must repair and re-test the weld, as well as 10% of the welders existing completed welds, at the Contractors sole expense (not billed under cash allowance). 3. Subject: Cleaning and Flushing Reference(s): Spec Section District Heating Primary Piping, Valves and Fittings Spec Section Process Steam, Condensate & Feedwater Piping, Fittings and Valves Spec Section Water Treatment Systems Action(s): Upon completion of the testing and signoff from the TSA inspector, all pipes must be cleaned and flushed per the procedure listed in the reference specification(s). Install temporary bypasses, pumps, strainers, etc. as necessary to carry out this cleaning. Fresh water, cleaning chemicals and corrosion inhibitor is Contractor Supplied. Shop drawings must be submitted and approved prior to ordering. Remove all control components, meters, heat exchangers, etc. for cleaning. Absolutely no cleaning will be permitted through the heat exchangers.

Subject: Project Deadlines Reference(s): Specification Section Summary of Work Action(s): The Contractors schedule must adhere to the project deadlines listed in the reference specification 5. Subject: ANSI/ASME B31.1 and CRN Registration Reference(s): Spec Section District Heating Primary Piping, Valves and Fittings Spec Section Process Steam, Condensate & Feedwater Piping, Fittings and Valves Action(s): The entire system design has been registered with the Halifax boiler and pressure equipment branch of the TSA. All procedures, QA programs, welders and fitters must meet the requirements of the B31.1 code. All components must have a valid CRN registration number. 6. Subject: Contract Demarcation Limits Between Interior and Exterior Reference(s): Drawings M , 005, 006 and 007 Action(s): The exact location and elevation of the various building penetrations must be carefully coordinated with the exterior contractor. Complete the final tie-in weld, including testing, as well as all insulation/ jacketing /labelling of any interior pipes including that installed by Exterior Piping contractor. Grind the SCH 40 interior pipe to match the SCH 10 exterior piping. Supply all valves as indicated on the reference drawings. 7. Subject: Johnson Controls Contact Reference(s): Bid Forms, Specification Section Controls and Metering Action(s): The contact for coordination with Johnson Controls is : Ken Reid p: (902) ext. Subject: Removal/Demolition Scope Reference(s): Spec Section Demolition for Minor Works Action(s): The Tupper mechanical space will be cleared by Dalhousie The removal and disposal of the aluminum stud wall will be the responsibility of the Contractor Dalhousie will identify and remove any asbestos. If the Contractor does come across anything they are concerned about, notify the DU Project Manager immediately to asses, remove and test. 9. Subject: Tupper Supports Reference(s): Drawings M and M Spec Section Hangers and Supports for Piping Action(s): The Contractor is permitted to use overhead structural steel and floor for permanent supports. Spanning steel between existing beams is the responsibility of the Contractor and must be stamped by a licensed structural engineer. Portion of the hot water piping and condensate piping require to be field routed. Refer to reference specification for minimum spacing requirements

Subject: Tupper Equipment Access Reference(s): Site Walkthrough Action(s): There are two sets of double doors off the p1 level parking garage that lead into the Tupper mechanical space. The Contractor is responsible for verifying all equipment access constraints prior to ordering any equipment. Question 1: There are four butterfly valves shown on drawing M on the hot water supply and return lines, however there is no spec for butterfly valves. Can you clarify that these are right, and not ball or gate valves; if so, could you supply a spec for the butterfly valves? Secondary butterfly valves are covered under the Building Secondary Piping spec section.

DETAILS OF ADDENDUM: This two page addendum is issued as follows: Question 1: Question 2: Section The drawings indicate pumps with drives included, is this correct? If yes, Armstrong is proposing a Design Envelope pump per brochure attached. Please confirm if this Armstrong option is considered an acceptable alternative. Yes, variable speed drives are required for each pump. They will be supplied by Johnson Controls through the cash allowance. Alternatives will only be reviewed if approved by Johnson Controls. Section Is the pump controller required? It is called for in the specification, but doesn't appear in the drawings or schedule. For parallel flow control with multiple zones, Armstrong proposes IPS4000 (number of zones required), if not parallel control, Armstrong proposes PSPC controller with sensor-less control. Please confirm if these Armstrong options are considered an acceptable alternative. Yes the pump controller is required as shown on drawing M ,009,018 and spec section Acceptable alternatives will not be evaluated at this stage. It is the bidder s responsibility to ensure their bid price includes products that meet or exceed the products mentioned in the specifications as standards of acceptance. Alternatives will be considered if submitted by the successful bidder with all associated information to ensure compliance. All other Terms and Conditions remain unchanged. 6 Addendum #2/Tender /Page 2 of 2 Question 3: Question 4: Drawing E Is a horizontal splice plate required for the cable tray in the H1 hallway? A horizontal splice plate is not required for the cable tray in the H1 hallway. The Condensate line is shown on drawing M and M On the layout drawing the details of this line are vague. The current instructions are to connect to the existing header. May we have a drawing of the existing header detail including the location and elevation of the tie-in point as well as the configuration of the line routing to the equipment and the detail on the connection at the equipment, as none of this information is currently provided. The condensates lines are to be field routed by the Contractor. Support spacing shall be per specification section The location of the existing condensate header is shown on drawing M and the height of the header is approximately 1,000mm from the floor. The existing header has a 50mm line with a ball valve and threaded cap that can be utilized. Question 5: The domestic water line is only shown on drawing M (P&ID). May we have installation details of routing and connection points? Routing is by the Contractor. Question 6: Please confirm that all housekeeping pads are new and are required for all new equipment such as heat exchangers, pumps, expansion tanks and steam converters. All housekeeping pads are to be provided by the Contractor. The only exception is the heat exchanger housekeeping pads for the CHEB ETS. These will be provided by the building contractor.
