Introduction Plate Chain Gravel is designed to transport powder, granular and lump materials, which also can lift abrasive materials, such as fly ash, slag, limestone, cement slurry, cement clinker, cement, coal, dry clay, etc., it has an opening bin below for storing material, when the motor driving the endless chain (chain or belt) through the chute, the hopper fixed in the chain of plate (chain or belt) bring the material to the discharging opening, in this way it continuously convey the material. NE Series Plate-Chain is used for lifting materials vertically in form of powder,granular, block material and abrasive, such as coal ash, slag, limestone, cement raw material, cement clinker, cement, coal and dry clay etc. NE Type is applying chain as its traction component, hence, the maximum material temperature is able to reach until 250 and lifting height is 40m. 1

5 2. Advantages Wide conveying application. It is applicable for elevating general powder, granular and lump and even abrasive big lumps with the highest temperature of 250. It is energy economical type with comparatively lower conveying power consumption. The series adopts feeding input and weighting guiding discharge, with reduction of non-digging power, inertia power and material return occurrence. High capacity. The highest capacity reaches 800m3/h Long life operation. Flow-in feeding model and high strength, ware resistance plate chain as carrying member greatly reduce abrasion and increase operation life. Working Principle Hopper scoops up materials from the stone bucket below, then is lifted to the top with the conveyor chain, and next it is downward rolled over bypass the wheel on the top and the materials are dumped into the accept slot now by bucket chain or hoist conveyor, and the whole process is over. The driving band of bucket elevator with driver is commonly made of rubber, and it is installed below or above the drive roller and the divert roller. The chain-drive bucket elevator is generally equipped with two parallel transmission chain, on which above or below is a drive sprocket and a divert sprocket. Continuous Chain or Belt for Cement are generally equipped with chassis to prevent the dust flying into the bucket elevator. 3

9 6. Components of Ring Chain NE series plate chain bucket elevator is composed of upper section, middle casing, lower section, moving members, driving unit, maintenance platform and hanging racks. 6

12 3) Lower Section Lower section composed of gravity tensioning device, inspection window, balancing weight. The gravity tensioning device guarantees optimum running and guidance conditions of the chain on the return chain wheel and the tension chain wheel in the bucket elevator boot. Spring loaded take-up for NE15-NE50; Weighting box take-up for NE100-NE800. 9

14 5) Driving Device The drive unit usually equipped with reducer, coupling and motor as the power system. In order to warn and protect people, we usually equipment coupling with a red or yellow cover. 11

17 8. Troubleshooting Motor can start none loaded. Problem analysis as following: a. Supply not connected; b. Button not functions with insensitive touch. Measures: Connect supply, repair related electrical members; Abnormal noise occurs during operation. The equipment must be stopped at once to see whether any ware parts loosening or big lump blocking. Cleaning and alteration should be made when above problems found. If continuous undue electric current found, overload or material blocking may occur. The equipment should stop first. If overload found, the capacity should be lowered; If material blocking found, cleaning should be made and the reason should be traced. If violent vibration at lower section of the equipment, one should check whether take-up device provide due tension. If no, adjustment should be made to the take-up spacing to restore the bucket elevator to the normal tension. 14

18 9. Safety Information The following safety instructions, combined with common sense, will save your equipment from needless damage and the operator from unnecessary exposure to personal hazard. Pay special attention to the caution notes in the text. Before removing s covers or drive guards to attempt any repairs or adjustments, shut off and lock the line disconnect switch. Before running the elevator makes sure all guards are in place, inspection doors are closed, and safety devices are connected and operational. Make sure is secure before operating. Always keep children away from when operating. The motor controls and reset button must be located so that the operator has a full view of the entire operation. During regular operation of the, one person should be in a position to monitor the operation. A second person should always be nearby to shutdown the in case of an emergency. Make sure everyone that is not directly involved with the operation is out of the work area before beginning the operation. Keep the work area clear of grease, oil, water, and other objects that could cause a slipor a fall. Make sure all safety devices, shields, and guards are in place and are functional before beginning the operation. Shut off power to adjust, service, or clean the. Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts. It is a good idea to remove all jewelry before starting the operation. Visually inspect the periodically during operation for signs of excessive vibration, loose fasteners, and unusual noises. 15
