Water-Based Adhesive Products with a water-based adhesive, such as ORAJET Series 3640, typically are a low-cost solution for either indoor or short-term outdoor graphic applications. This type of adhesive is found in a wide range of versatile projects like decorative wall graphics, indoor wall murals and way finding signage. Avoid wet applications when applying water-based adhesive products as this will interfere with the bonding process to the substrate. Solvent-Based Adhesive Solvent-based adhesive products, like ORAJET Series 3651, are designed for more demanding and longer term applications. The components of this adhesive are combined using solvents, thus allowing a structurally stronger adhesive that is more resistant to chemicals, cleaning agents and wider temperature ranges. Another important attribute is the ability to wet apply graphics without worry of the adhesive losing bond to the substrate. 8 PROCESSING & HANDLING COMPATIBILITY & EXPECTED DURABILITY GUIDE ORAFOL s digital printing materials are manufactured in the industry s most advanced computer-controlled facilities, assuring you of consistent, splice-free quality from roll to roll. Storage and Handling The self-adhesive products, ORACAL, ORAJET, ORAGUARD, ORABOND, ORALITE, and ORAMOUNT are supplied in rolls and should, at all times, be stored suspended or standing on end with provided roll blocks. NEVER store material lying on it s side. Materials should be kept in a cool dry place. For optimal product performance, relative air humidity should be between 50% and 60% and temperature between 64 F and 72 F. Avoid storing material in direct sunlight, or near excessive heat (i.e. radiators). Please observe the shelf life instructions contained in the technical data sheet available for each film at Instructions for Printing Digital printing materials should be handled with utmost care. Lint-free gloves should be used to prevent surface damage. Check surface quality before printing. Make sure the correct media profile is loaded for your job, based on your specific combination of media, ink, printer and RIP software. Each series of ORAJET digital media requires different print and RIP software parameters because of the individual qualities of each material. Check the Support section of the ORAFOL Americas website for a wide selection of FREE color profiles. *Don t forget to match the digital media with the recommended laminate. Lamination Lamination of inkjet prints is recommended to ensure longer lifespan at optimum quality (gloss, color, resistance to physical damage). ORAGUARD laminate films enhance the desired appearance of the graphic (gloss, matte, semi-gloss). They also provide excellent protection against fading from exposure to UV rays. ORAFOL recommends allowing film printed with solvent ink to outgas for at least 24 hours at 70 F (48-72 hours prefered), before trimming the material to the printed graphic or applying a laminate, to avoid delamination, graphic edge curling or adhesive failure.
