4 3. Substrate Qualification 3.1 Machine Information Engine Number: # 0508-SA Software Version: Qualification Runs Tests RIT conducts a number of evaluations, to determine the optimum engine dependent settings, for the particular substrate. Selection criteria for the different settings are based on: DryInk adhesion, color density, overall image quality, sufficient discharging, and no artifacts such as excessive curl or blistering. The Process of Substrate Qualification contains the following steps: Substrate Testing ICC Profile Generation Verification Script File Creation Note that it is important that the paper runs smoothly through the entire test runs. ICC profiles for three screening systems (classic, optimum, and line) with two color separations (UCR and GCR) are created Substrate Dependent Engine Settings Substrate ID: 6152 Script File Name: Robuskin_PET_125_B_T_840.mtp Substrate Category: Opaque Foil Substrate Type: Matte Coated Thickness: 137 µm Creep Value: 74 µm Basis Weight: 190 gsm Substrate Default Sizes: European Conditioner Temperature: 80 Minimum Conditioner Temperature: 80 Bypass: Never Fuser Surface Temperature: 160 C Energy Flow: 1639 W Nip Width: µm Blower Speed: 50 % Discharge Level Side 1: 10 Discharge Level Side 2: 10 Cleaning Paper Stream Length: 100 mm Transfer Current K: 0 µa Transfer Current Y: 0 µa Transfer Current M: 0 µa Transfer Current C: 0 µa ICC Profiles: See Attachments RIT Printing Applications Laboratory 4 Substrate Qualification Performance Report

5 3.2.2 Color Gamut Chart 4. Observations This product functions as expected under the evaluation conditions. 5. Overall Print Quality Visual evaluation for the printed sheets is satisfactory under graphics arts standard viewing condition, D5000 illumination with neutral surrounds. 6 6. Recommendations 6.1 Working This substrate is qualified for the Kodak NexPress 2500 and those machines with the Opaque foil Media Category enabled. 6.2 Concerns 7. Release date There are no concerns with this substrate as a result of the qualification process on supported Kodak NexPress models. The expected release date for the Substrate Script file is the second quarter of RIT offers this substrate qualification consistent with guidelines agreed to with Kodak.
