1 STAYSAFE NEWS APPRENTICESHIPS SCHOOL BASED APPRENTICESHIPS Fee-free training for Year 12 grads, new worker, existing worker subsidised training On the job training, NO block training, NO downtime, build on your future This qualification provides a trade outcome in plumbing, plumber and gas fitter, plumber and drainer, gasfitter covering a range of work including: water, sanitary, drainage, and gas services. To apply for a plumbing and drainage license with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission completion of this qualification as well as selected units of competency from the Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services as indicated in the plumbing and drainage scope of work document found at this link To achieve this qualification you must complete core and elective units from these streams. We have elected Stream 1 Water, Stream 2 Sanitary, Stream 3 Drainage and Stream 6 Gas Services which will make up the qualification to be undertaken. Stream 1 Water and Stream 2 Sanitary are mandatory. The following units of competency are required for award of this qualification: Stream 1 Water (mandatory): 24 core units and 5 elective units from the water stream and Stream 2 Sanitary (mandatory): 6 core units and 4 elective units from the sanitary stream. Streams selected for this qualification include: Stream 3 Drainage: 9 core units and 3 elective units from the drainage stream Stream 6 Gas services: 12 core units and 5 elective units from the gas services stream NB: Units of competency achieved in one stream count as credit for the same unit in the core or elective requirements for any other stream. Some units in this qualification may have prerequisite which must be met when packaging the qualification. Users are referred to the list of CPC08 units with prerequisite unit requirements available in this Training Package for this purpose. Recognition of prior learning (RPL), gap training, credit transfer and duration is determined at pre-enrolment. Sequence of training and assessment is recorded in a training plan. Eligibility for new and existing worker To be eligible to receive subsidised training under the User Choice program you must: be employed in an approved apprenticeship or traineeship have entered a training contract for a qualification funded by the government have selected a training provider that is a pre-qualified supplier (a government-approved training provider). Eligibility for fee-free training have completed Year 12 in Queensland and hold a Senior Statement issued by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority or equivalent certification enrol and start training with an approved training provider by the end of the calendar year following your completion of Year 12 be a Queensland resident. Probation period The probation period is 90 days from the commencement of an apprenticeship Apprenticeship start The apprenticeship or traineeship starts once the training contract, training plan, pre-enrolment and enrolment has occurred. You are required to pay a student contribution fee of $1.60 per nominal hour, however you can apply for a partial or full exemption of these fees at enrolment. 2 Apprenticeships - School Based Apprenticeships Fee free training for year 12 grads CPC32413 Certificate III in Plumbing Units of competency from a minimum of four of the following six plumbing streams are required for award of this qualification. Stream 1 Water and Stream 2 Sanitary are mandatory. The following units of competency are required for award of this qualification: Stream 1 Water (mandatory): 24 core units and 5 elective units from the water stream and Stream 2 Sanitary (mandatory): 6 core units and 4 elective units from the sanitary stream.
