GUARANTEED ADDITIONAL EXISTING UTILITIES MAY ALSO BE ENCOUNTERED THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK AROUND EXISTING UTILITIES WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY WHICH DO NOT CONFLICT WITH PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION THREE (3) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OF EACH PHASE OF THE PROJECT, THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO FIELD VERIFY THE LOCATION AND ELEVATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES ANY DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER 3 A FULL DEPTH SAW CUT OF THE EXISTING TOTAL PAVEMENT THICKNESS SHALL BE PROVIDED AT LOCATIONS WHERE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION ABUTS AN EXISTING SURFACE COURSE OR PAVEMENT FOR WHICH PARTIAL REMOVAL OF THAT SURFACE OR PAVEMENT IS REQUIRED REMOVAL LIMITS SHOWN WITHIN (3) FEET OF EXISTING JOINTS SHALL EXTEND TO THE EXISTING JOINT SUCH SAW CUTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR DIRECTLY AND THIS COST SHALL BE CONSIDERED AS SUBSIDIARY TO THE REMOVAL OF THE SURFACE OR PAVEMENT 4 RUBBLE FROM THE REMOVAL OF MISCELLANEOUS STRUCTURES AND EXCESS EXCAVATION AND PAVEMENT REMOVAL, WHICH IS TO BE WASTED, AND EXCAVATION SHOWN TO BE WASTED SHALL BE DISPOSED OF ON SITES TO BE PROVIDED THE CONTRACTOR THESE SITES SHALL BE APPROVED THE ENGINEER AS TO SUITABILITY, APPEARANCE, AND SITE LOCATION LOCATIONS THAT, IN THE OPINION OF THE ENGINEER, WILL LEAVE AN UNSIGHTLY APPEARANCE WILL NOT BE APPROVED 5 ALL DISPOSAL SITES MUST BE APPROVED THE KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT MATERIAL EITHER STOCKPILED OR DISPOSED OF IN A FLOOD PLAIN WOULD REQUIRE A KANSAS STATE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE PERMIT ANY MATERIAL DUMPED IN WATERS OF THE UNITED STATES OR WETLANDS IS SUBJECT TO US CORPS OF ENGINEERS PERMITTING REGULATIONS 6 UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTION OF EXISTING UTILITY POLES,TREES, AND SIGNAGE LOCATED ALONG BACK OF CURBS 7 CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RESEEDING AND ESTABLISHING PERMANENT VEGETATION FOR ALL AREAS DISTURBED DURING COMPLETION OF THE WORK CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RESTORATION OF ANY SIDEWALK OR PAVING DAMAGED DURING COMPLETION OF THE WORK 8 ANY MATERIAL BURIED OR STOCKPILED BEYOND APPROVED CONSTRUCTION LIMITS WOULD REQUIRE ADDITIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS UNLESS BURIED IN A PREVIOUSLY APPROVED BORROW LOCATION 9 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRESERVING PROPERTY PINS, BENCH MARKS, REFERENCE POINTS, STAKES, AND SHALL BE PERMITTED TO INSPECT THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS DURING CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION THEREOF IN ORDER TO VERIFY THAT THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS ARE BEING CONSTRUCTED AND INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROVED FINAL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND THE CITY OF MANHATTAN STANDARD DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS IF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS ARE CONSTRUCTED OR INSTALLED THE CONTRACTOR, WHICH THE CITY ENGINEER OR HIS/HER DESIGNEE HAS REQUESTED TO INSPECT BUT WHICH HAVE ALREADY BEEN COVERED UP, CONTRACTOR SHALL PAY ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ANY EXCAVATION AND INSPECTION OF CONSTRUCTED OR INSTALLED IMPROVEMENTS THAT IS ORDERED THE CITY ENGINEER OR HIS/HER DESIGNEE TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH APPROVED FINAL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS THESE COSTS MAY INCLUDE DESTRUCTION AND REMOVAL OF ANY SUCH IMPROVEMENTS WHEN IT CANNOT BE DETERMINED THAT THE IMPROVEMENTS, AS INSTALLED, COMPLY WITH APPROVED FINAL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS 17 IF THE CITY DETERMINES THAT ANY PORTION OF THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
