4 Answer to questions that were submitted prior to March 7, 2018, 12:00 pm CST (Answers are in Red) 1. Are there existing washers and dryers in each unit? Yes If so, will we need to remove, store, and reinstall at another location? No Remove and throw away? Or will the university handle the removal of them? The University will be responsible for the washers and dryers. 2. Does the washer receptacle need to be terminated as well, or just dryer? Just the Dryer receptacle. 3. The specs show a ductless hood vent in the electrical spec, is there a model # for these? See Addendum III. 4. The drywall scope states to replace all gypsum board in bathrooms with 5/8 moisture resistance. Please confirm that all bathrooms are to have existing drywall demo d and replaced with MR board. This is only for patching. 5. The electrical scope states to replace all switch and receptacle covers. The mockup unit appeared to have some new switch and receptacles devices and covers. Please confirm if only replacing cover plates. Only the cover plates are to be replaced. 6. There appears to be a new outlet underneath the kitchen sink for a new disposal. Please confirm if power is currently available in this location and we are to provide a new receptacle under counter, or if that is to be done by others. Power for disposal in kitchen exist currently. Contractor is not responsible to provide a new receptacle under the sink for the disposal. 7. There appears to be a new kitchen sink disposal. 5 14. I had a note from the walkthrough that the thermostats were to remain, but the HVAC scope calls for new thermostats. Please confirm if thermostats are to be replaced with new. Thermostats are to remain, See Addendum III. 15. In the hardware section of the Summary/Scope most items refer to exterior doors. However, one could be taken as general for all doors in the unit. Please Clarify. This shall include all interior and exterior doors. 16. Are vent hoods required? Yes When we discussed that yesterday I understood they were not in this scope. However, they are Listed under the electrical work. See Addendum III. 17. Also a matching backsplash is listed which was not present in the mock-up unit. See Addendum III. 18. And according to the Summary/Scope All Shelving is to be replaced. Per the discussions yesterday I understood all existing shelving to remain and new shelving in the new pantry. Correct, only shelving for the pantry should be in the base bid. 19. We will need some space around the building for Lay-Down and Storage. Is it safe to assume we may barricade off all parking adjacent to the building for contractors use? The building parking spaces may be used. 20. The Pre-bid was Mandatory for Generals only? We may utilize subcontractors that were not in attendance? Subs are not required at the pre-bid. Plumbing Building 6: 1. Spec section fixture schedule this section specs bathroom sinks but not toilets. Is there a spec on the toilets (water closets)? See Addendum III. 2. Scope: Spec section #11 plumbing tells us to install new water closets. We need the spec on the water closets. See Addendum III. Plumbing Building 8: 1. Scope: spec section # 11 plumbing (a) install new sinks, facets trim; (b) install new water closets, trim. See Addendum III. 2. Spec section pages 1-4 does not include a fixture schedule. See Addendum III and Section HVAC Building 6 & 8 Mr. Shipp said the only HVAC item was to replace the supply registers and if any A/C units were bad, we could price them as needed. See Addendum III. Price for repair of HVAC unit has been removed. For both buildings spec section page 3 states the following: Replace all supply and return registers return registers were not mentioned Per specification both supply and return register shall be replaced.

6 Replace any missing exhaust vent covers in the bathrooms (we would have to just plug in a number since we didn t have access to any apartments except the mock-up unit) See Addendum III. Remove and cap dryer vent piping within walls (we would have to plug in a number due to only having access to the mock up unit) There is one dryer in each unit. Replace thermostats Mr. Shipp specifically said not to do this but the spec calls for it? See Addendum III. This has been removed. Service and check AC systems for proper operation Mr. Shipp did mention this. See Addendum III. This has been removed. Replace all filters for air handlers at completion of construction. This was not mentioned during the walk thru. See Specifications this is required.
