3 PRODUCT INFORMATION INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (SOLID BASE MATERIALS) DRILLING HOLE CLEANING - Drill a hole into the base material with a rotary hammer rill tool to the size an embement require by the selecte anchor (reference installation specifications for threae ro an reinforcing bar). The tolerances of the carbie rill bit shoul meet the requirements of Stanar B22.5. Precaution: Wear suitable eye an skin protection. Avoi inhalation of usts uring rilling an/or removal. Note! After rilling an prior to hole cleaning, all staning water in the rille bore hole must be remove if present (e.g. vacuum, compresse air, etc.) BLOW 2x, BRUSH 2x, BLOW 2x 2a - Starting from the bottom or back of the anchor hole, blow the hole clean using a compresse air nozzle (m 90 psi) a minimum of two times (2x). Use a compresse air nozzle (m 90 psi) for anchor ro 3/8" to -/4" iameter or reinforcing bar (rebar) sizes #3 to #8. 2b - Determine wire brush iameter (reference hole cleaning equipment selection table) an attach the brush with aaptor to a rotary rill tool or battery screw gun. Brush the hole with the selecte wire brush a minimum of two times (2x). A brush extension (supplie by Powers Fasteners, Cat. #08282) shoul be use for holes rille eeper than the liste brush length. The wire brush iameter shoul be checke perioically uring use. The brush must be replace if it becomes worn (less than D min, reference hole cleaning equipment selection table) or oes not come into contact with the sies of the rille hole. 2c - Finally, blow the hole clean again a minimum of two times (2x). Use a compresse air nozzle (m 90 psi) for anchor ro 3/8" to -/4" iameter or reinforcing bar (rebar) sizes #3 to #8. When finishe the hole shoul be clean an free of ust, ebris, ice, grease, oil or other foreign material. (Continue on next page) 3 Canaa: (905) or (54) Powers USA: (800) or (94)

4 PRODUCT INFORMATION INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (SOLID BASE MATERIALS) PREPARING 3- Check ahesive expiration ate on cartrige label. Do not use expire prouct. Review Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before use. Cartrige temperature must be between 50 F - 04 F (0 C - 40 C) when in use. Consieration shoul be given to the reuce gel time of the ahesive in warm temperatures. Attach a supplie mixing nozzle to the cartrige. Do not moify the mixer in any way an make sure the mixing element is insie the nozzle. Loa the cartrige into the correct ispensing tool. A new mixing nozzle must be use for every working interruption longer than the publishe working 4- Prior to inserting the anchor ro or rebar into the fille bore hole, the position of the embement epth has to be marke on the anchor. Verify anchor element is straight an free of surface amage. 5- For new cartriges an nozzles: prior to ispensing into the anchor hole, squeeze out separately a minimum three full strokes of the mixe ahesive. Discar non-uniform ahesive until the mixe ahesive shows a consistent gray color. Review an note the publishe working an cure times (reference gel time an curing time table) prior to injection of the mixe ahesive into the cleane anchor hole. INSTALLATION With Piston Plug 6- Fill the cleane hole approximately two-thirs full with mixe ahesive starting from the bottom or back of the anchor hole. Slowly withraw the mixing nozzle as the hole fills to avoi creating air pockets or vois. For embement epth greater than 7-/2 an extension nozzle (3/8 ia.) must be use with the mixing nozzle. Piston plugs (see Ahesive Piston Plug Table) must be use with an attache to mixing nozzle an extension tube for horizontal an overhea installations with anchor ro from " to -/4" iameter an rebar sizes #6 to #8. Insert piston plug to the back of the rille hole an inject as escribe in the metho above. During installation the piston plug will be naturally extrue from the rille hole by the ahesive pressure. Attention! Do not install anchors overhea without proper training an installation harware provie by Powers Fasteners. Contact Powers for etails prior to use. 7- The anchor shoul be free of irt, grease, oil or other foreign material. Push clean threae ro or reinforcing bar into the anchor hole while turning slightly to ensure positive istribution of the ahesive until the embement epth is reache. Observe the gel (working) time. 8- Be sure that the anchor is fully seate at the bottom of the hole an that some ahesive has flowe from the hole an all aroun the top of the anchor. If there is not enough ahesive in the hole, the installation must be repeate. For overhea applications the anchor must be secure from moving/falling uring the cure time (e.g. weges). Minor ajustments to the anchor may be performe uring the gel time but the anchor shall not be move after final placement an uring cure. 5 PRODUCT INFORMATION INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (SOLID BASE MATERIALS) CURING AND FIXTURE 9- Allow the ahesive anchor to cure to the specifie full curing time prior to applying any loa (reference gel time an curing time table). Do not isturb, torque or loa the anchor until it is fully cure. 0- After full curing of the ahesive anchor, a fixture can be installe to the anchor an tightene up to the maximum torque (reference gel time an curing time table) by using a calibrate torque wrench. Take care not to excee the maximum torque for the selecte anchor.
