1 ADDENDUM NO. 3 to CONTRACT DOCUMENTS for FMA PROJECT NO: MASSDOT PROJECT NO: 2018-FMA-15-SAAB Issued: April 10, 2018

2 The attention of Bidders for NEW ADMINISTRATION BUILDING is called to the following changes to the Bidding Documents dated April 3, 2018 as prepared by The items set forth therein below, whether of revision, omission, addition, substitution or clarification are all to be included as changes to Bidding Requirements, Specifications and Drawings of the Contract. The number of this Addendum (No.3) and date issued (4/10/18) must be entered in the appropriate spaces provided on the Form for General Bid. RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS Item 1.1 QUESTION: Addenda #1, Item #1.40: An answer to the question regarding the abandonment of water line was not clearly supplied. Will this be dealt with as a change order to the contract when the existing condition information is available from test pits? Or, can a basis for bidding this work be supplied so that all bidders are basing their quotes on the same information. ANSWER: The water line will not be abandoned after the project is over. It needs to stay operational to serve the existing building and town hangar. Drawing C-9 reflects the current utility information provided to the engineers. Item 1.2 QUESTION: If the existing water main is to be abandoned at the conclusion of this project, how is the Town Hangar building obtaining water, as no new service line is shown from the new administration building to this hangar. Current service appears to come from an existing water manhole/meter box which is eventually being abandoned. Please clarify the intent/scope of work required, both for the abandonment of the existing line, how this portion of line to be abandoned is being isolated from new services and the existing line to remain, and what is happening with the water service line for the hangar building? ANSWER: The water line will not be abandoned after the project is over. It needs to stay operational to serve the existing building and town hangar. Item 1.3 QUESTION: Dwg C-9 (Utility Plan) and Dwg E-011 (Electrical Site Power and Lighting Plan) show different scopes of work required. Please coordinate these drawings so that the scope of work on both drawings shows the full scope of work required. Also, size and number of conduits required in each duct line/conduit run, and whether concrete encased or direct buried with sand bedding. ANSWER: Drawing E-011 was updated via Addendum #2 and lists size and quantity for all conduits shown. There is a typical note for all lighting circuits calling for 1 conduit. If the conduits are under pavement, they should be page 2 of 5

3 concrete encased and if they are in turf, they may be direct buried with sand bedding according to details on C-16. Item 1.4 QUESTION: We are concerned with the leaving in place of the phone/communication line from the existing administration building that will be within the footprint of the proposed building. Is any information available on this line? Depth of cover? Size and quantity of conduits? Concrete encasement? ANSWER: The contractor is required to perform a utility investigation to confirm the exact location, depth, size and quantity of conduits and concrete encasement of the existing telephone/communication line within the footprint of the proposed building. Slab penetrations have been provided on S-400.
