3 PROJECT UPDATES: 1.01 Cox Building Annex - Tony Salcido (3 min) 1. Commissioning is ongoing and will be completed by September 30, Graphics for the EMS is complete. CPT to coordinate training with LASC staff (TBD) emergency analog lines have been connected and tested for operation (President Office, Vice Presidents Office and President Conference room Cox Building Upgrade Tony Salcido (4 min) 1. Interim Migration completed by LACCD-IT on June 14 & 15, Nexus provided a tentative equipment delivery date of August 29, CPT currently coordination with LASC IT and DBT. Nexus confirmed receipt of all equipment at their warehouse, LASC IT manager will coordinate with nexus all site delivery and installation. 3. LASC IT to coordinate with NEXUS data migration switch-over in October or November. 4. PMO working on the procurement of Hewlett Packard Server equipment and integration services. CPM and PMO currently expediting the PO. 5. CCTV- Digital Camera Assessment was received from PMO. Contractor preliminary ROM cost for 29 cameras plus core switches is 500K. Installation and commissioning will be completed by DB Contractor preliminary design was sent to PMO for evaluation. 6. Meeting to finalize temp Library transition before Reprographic Transition date & New Xerox the big one. 8. Café space review with VP. Tremble. 9. Library Temporary office building removal Pet community Relocation Plan. Provide options for VP review & best practice. 11. For Contractual purpose Substantial Complete is set for FF&E installation to be completed by Building occupancy is expected on Interior 14. 4 1.03 Cox Little Theatre Upgrade - Tony Salcido (3 min) 1. CPD (College Project Director) completed a Time Impact Analysis (TIA) negotiation with the Design Build team where 43 calendar days were granted to the DBT; 33 days will be noncompensable and 10 days will be compensable. 2. Presentation of space, as designed, will be scheduled with the President and Vice-President, with a target date of October 8, For Contractual purpose Substantial Complete FF&E installation to start on Building occupancy by College on School of Behavioral and Social Sciences Upgrade Gustavo Ripalda (1 min) 1. ARUP issued their final commissioning issues and resolution log on May 21, This Log has categorized repairs under the headings of warranty, maintenance and contractor requirements. The contractor requirements log was issued to the G.C. on 5/21/14 and is being reviewed by Climatec. PMO will adopt the warranty and maintenance repairs as part of their campus wide commissioning plan. 2. CPM currently working on a Proposed Board Action to issue a contract to get VAV and controls issues resolved. This scope of work will resolve the Building s current HVAC problems School of Career & Technical Education (SoCTE) - Chidi Ugwueze (2 min) 1. Contractor to move temporary fence onto the fire road on Thursday in order to hydro-seed the SoA+H area; the fence will be removed on October 31, Negotiation is ongoing to establish a new Substantial Completion date due to owner furnished IT equipment, commissioning and FLS issues tentatively 10/31/ Contractor is having a hard time balancing the air flow in the building due to the fact that Central Plant is not supplying pressure and temperature as designed. 4. The fire alarm test is ongoing; the monitor is indicating Network problems from other buildings. 5. ARUP to issue pre-functional check list pending review and approval of submittals. 6. Furniture delivery and installation is on-going and will be completed by last week in October. 7. Contractor will re-mobilize to complete the remaining work area currently being used by HP on 11/1/14. Work will be completed 11/30/14 and punch list to be completed 12/31/ All work activities are progressing testing of all equipment, electrical, low voltage, plumbing, HVAC, ceiling tiles, carpeting, painting, cabinets, bathroom tiles & fixtures, doors & hardware, site concrete & landscaping. 9. For contractual purpose, the Substantial Completion date will be changed to 10/31/ FF&E installation will be completed by 10/31/ Building Occupancy by the College will be on 02/02/15. 5 1.06 School of Math and Science Gustavo Ibarra (2 min) 1. CPT met with PMO on 03/19/14 at 1:00 pm PMO has verbally provided status update that the State will approve the hard demolition to begin from 09/01/14. The official approval is yet to be received. 2. PMO & CPT have authorized schedule of values revision. 3. Hard demolition (removal of the structure) will commence On December 22, CPT received the Credit Change Order Proposal Documentation on July 22, A complete Evaluation will follow and the formal recommendation to the College will be ready by the week of September 15, CPT is currently working with PMO to issue an NTP for the Hard Demolition of the Superstructure starting December 22 and to be completed prior to the Start of the 2015 Spring Semester Fitness and Wellness Center Gustavo Ibarra (7 min) 1. CPM and Contractor working on project close-out documents (O&M s, warranties, as-builds, etc ). 2. Project Punch list and closeout is in progress. 3. Commissioning of the building to be completed by the end of September. 4. Training for the front end was completed on Tuesday, September 16, Concrete stain bands was completed on Friday, September 19, Waterproof coating to the Building south wall tentative schedule for the first week of October N/E Quadrant Parking Structure Gustavo Ibarra (1 min) 1. Project Close-Out in progress. 2. PMO working on approval of the pending SCE Interconnection Agreement Cal Trans Drainage/Retaining Wall - Gustavo Ibarra (1 min) 1. Project Close-Out in progress Middle College High School - Gustavo Ibarra (1 min) 1. PMO is working on the approval of the pending SCE Interconnection Agreement. 2. 6 1.11 MTA Transit Centers - Gustavo Ripalda (1 min) 1. PBA for the Professional Services Contract was on the Board Agenda and it was approved. 2. CPT will start working with STV Architects in the programming of the Transit Centers. The College will need to identify the BUG for this project. 3. PMO is currently finalizing the A/E Contract Coordination with SCE - Gustavo Ripalda (1 min) 4. CPT is in the process of issuing a CFO to Harper Construction for a Constructability Review of the construction Documents prepared by MPE Consulting. Drawings will be submitted for an over-the-counter approval to DSA. 5. No updates associated with the work to be performed by SCE at this time. CAMPUS-WIDE: 2.01 Campus-wide Transportation and Accessibility Improvements - Gustavo Ibarra (1 min) 1. DSA approval of plans and specifications was obtained on May 19, BOT approval of Adoption of Plans & Specifications scheduled for July 9, PMO working on project initiation forms and bid package Campus Wide - Infrastructure Upgrades: Gustavo Ripalda (3 min) 1. Build-LACCD has asked CPT to prepare a ROM cost for the proposed repairs and improvements for the Domestic Water System. 2. ROM costs completed on September 17, ROM costs were reviewed by CPT and forwarded to the College. 4. CPT Team is working on the final scope of this project. 5. CPT and Commissioning Agent (Arup) to review Schneider Electric s cost proposal for SSEC VAV s provided on June 27, G:\Bi-Monthly Construction Meeting Page 4 of 6

7 2.03 Central Plant Retro-Commissioning Coordination: Gustavo Ibarra and/or Gustavo Ripalda (4 min) 1. Arup is schedule to start the Retro-Commissioning of the Central Plant as soon as the critical equipment in the Central Plant is fixed. The results of the Retro-Commissioning process should produce a bid document that will be used to procure construction services to correct deficiencies, add missing equipment and reprogram the BAS with a program that will allow the central plant to be automated and run efficiently to serve the buildings connected to it. Items like: 2. ARUP to submit a proposal for upgrading and correcting the campus chilled and hot water infrastructure (distribution), the Building Automation System (BAS) network equipped with Invensys Systems and new buildings currently being installed with Honeywell Lon based Systems to the Central Plant Smart Classroom: Gustavo Ripalda (3 min) 1. CPT coordinating with RPM and the Design Teams any changes in technology between now and day of purchase. 2. No update at this time Campus-wide IT / Security Upgrades: Gustavo Ripalda (1 min) 1. The PEP has identified $475,479 available, and at this point the programming of the project needs to be finalized. CPM recommends that the funds be used to correct upgrade the Campus Fire Alarm System. Any funds remaining once this task is completed should be used to upgrade the existing exterior doors throughout campus Security Tactical Plan: Gustavo Ripalda (1 min) 1. No update at this time Campus wide DSM Integration/Phoenix Proposal: Gustavo Ripalda (1 min) 1. Tony Fairclough has included the proposal in MDR and is currently going through PMO for inclusion of their sections before sending out the RFP. 2. 8 2.10 SMP Projects: (5 min) 1. CPT will schedule a coordination meeting to coordinate the SMP funds available to upgrade the street lighting north of the Thomas Lakin Fitness & Wellness Center. COLLEGE COORDINATION: 3.01 Construction Alerts: (5 min) 1. CPT to issue Construction Alerts to: President's office [including Ivee Baquir-Streator], IT, and M&O.
