8 Materials - Steel Substrate ZA255 Galvalloy hot-dip zinc-aluminium alloy coated steel (= 95% Zn/=5% Al) to BS EN : 1995, Grade Fe E220G with a Z275 zinc coating. Standard external sheet thickness 0.63mm, standard internal sheet thickness 0.4mm. Other thicknesses can be supplied to special order. Coatings - External Weather Sheet Kingspan XL Forté : 200 micron thick high performance coating applied to the weatherside of the panel. Designed to achieve high levels of durability and colour stability, is highly resistant to damage in transit and on-site. Reverse side of sheet coated with a light grey polyester coating. Coatings - Internal Liner Sheet Lining Enamel: 15 micron thick coating developed for use for the internal lining of insulated panels. Standard colour is bright white with an easily cleaned surface. Kingspan XL Forté : 200 micron thick coating used in areas where there is high internal humidity, or a corrosive environment. Stelvetite Food & Hygiene Safe: This is a 120 micron thick chemically inert polymer film bonded to steel suitable for cladding the interior of cold stores, food processing buildings and other hygiene applications. Reverse side of sheet coated with a light grey polyester coating. The sheet is available in either plain or stucco embossed finish. Insulation Core Polyisocyanurate (PIR): with zero ozone depletion (Zero ODP). Available in LPCB approved certified product range, please contact Kingspan Technical Design Bureau. Seals Factory Applied Side Joint Seal All side joints have a factory applied seal fitted into the groove to automatically seal the joint between panels. 8

9 Biological Kingspan panels are normally immune to attack from mould, fungi, mildew and vermin. No urea formaldehyde is used in the construction, and the panels are not considered deleterious. Fire Steel and aluminium outer and inner facings have Class 1 surface spread of flame to BS 476: Part 7: 1987, and are Class 0, as defined by Building Regulations. KS1000 TT is available with LPCB certification, with steel facings. Firewall specifications to provide fire resistance ratings to BS 476: Part 22: 1987 are available on request from Kingspan Technical Design Bureau or visit our web site at Acoustics KS1000 TT panels comply with Building Regulations Part E for non-domestic buildings. For residential, domestic, education and healthcare building applications, BB93 and HTM 2045 solutions, consult Kingspan Technical Design Bureau. Guarantees & Warranties Kingspan s Total Guarantee will provide external coating and product warranties and guarantees on an individual project basis. Packing Standard Packing Kingspan wall panels are stacked horizontally (with weather sheet upward). Removable hot melt adhesive is laid between each panel. The top, bottom, sides and ends are protected with polystyrene and timber packing and the entire pack is wrapped in polythene. The number of panels in each pack depends on panel thickness, as shown in the table. Typical pack height is 1100mm. Panel Core Thickness No. panel/pack (max.) 15 Tile Colour: Rose 1. Starter Support Rail (Ref: KS TT A 41) These support rails are installed at the top and bottom of tile elevation and at openings to carry the ceramic tiles. 2. Intermediate Support Rail (Ref: KS TT A 40) The support rails are installed between tile rows to carry the ceramic tiles. 3. Connection Piece (Ref: KS TT A 42) Butt-Strap connection between aluminium support rails Product Data : Ancillary 4. Compression Spring (Ref: KS TT A 43) These compression springs are installed at the edges of the ceramic tiles. They prevent the tiles from moving and provide vertical spaces. 5. KS TT A Lok Rail Fasteners (Ref: KS TT A FL6) These are used at 500mm centres through a 8mm pre-drilled hole into the face of the panel. 6. Above accessories are "over and above" the standard flashings, fixings, sealants used for usual panel projects. The KS1000 TT insulated panel is fixed vertically to avoid joints coinciding with KS TT A 40 and KS TT A 41 tile support rails. KS TT A FL6 Product Data : Ancillary The secondary steel framing system supporting the KS1000 TT panel and tile system needs to be designed to accept the dead loads of the complete system as well as the usual live loads. Please note that single elevations of tiles should be ordered in a "single batch" to avoid shading problems. To avoid shortages of tiles due to site breakages from damage / cutting we recommend 3% spares are ordered. KS TT A Tool KS TT A SVG25 17

18 KS1000 TT - Thermatile Insulated Facade System Vertically Laid Standard (Non-corrosive) Internal and External Environments Ref No: 1/5.77/LPS-B Application The following specification is for the KS1000 TT - Thermatile Insulated Facade system laid vertically ready to receive Kingspan s unglazed ceramic tiles on buildings with an internal humidity class is 1 to 4, as defined in BS EN ISO 13788: KS1000 TT Thermatile panels are Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) certified to LPS 1181 Grade B. Materials & Coatings External Weather Sheet Substrate to be 0.63mm thick Z275 hot-dip zinc coated steel to BS EN10147: External coating to be nominal 200 microns thick Plastisol. Colour Goosewing Grey. Reverse to have a light grey polyester coating. Insulation Core To consist of 70mm (England & Wales) or 80mm (Scotland) thick, closed cell, with zero ozone depletion (zero ODP) polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation. The auto-adhesive properties of the core bond the external and internal sheets together, and control the panel thickness achieved during manufacture. Internal Liner Sheet Substrate to be 0.4mm thick hot-dip zinc coated Steel to BS EN10147: Internal coating to be Lining Enamel, nominal 15 microns thick. Colour - White. Reverse to have a light grey polyester coating. Performance Thermal Insulation The panel must have a thermal transmittance (U value) of 0.35 W/m 2 K (England & Wales) or 0.30 W/m 2 K (Scotland) calculated using the method required by the Building Regulations Part L2. Manufacturers 25 year thermal warranty required. Fire The external and internal faces of the panel to be Class 0 in accordance with the Building Regulations when tested to BS476: Part 6: 1989 and Part 7: The product has passed all the requirements of LPS 1181: Issue 3, wall lining test. Air Leakage Overall air leakage for complete envelope less than 10m 3 /hr/m 2 at 50Pa. Seals Vertical Panel Joints To be a tongue (male) and groove (female) type of joint with a factory applied weather seal located within the groove (female) section. Junctions Junctions between the roof panel system and walls / penetrations insulated with PIR board insulation any gaps filled with Alfasbond FR or similar, fire rated gun applied canister urethane insulation. Internal face of panel to be air sealed along the full length by an unbroken 6mm diameter bead of gun-grade sealant Scapa Tape, Ref: 0100 or similar. 18 Fasteners Primary All primary fasteners must be self tapping, self drilling screws, manufactured from austenitic Grade 304 stainless steel, and fitted with a 16mm diameter bonded non-ferrous washer. All fasteners to be located through the tongue (male) section of the panel minimum of two per panel per support. To comply with the requirements of BS6399: Part 2: 1997, it may be necessary to provide additional fixings through the male section, in areas of high local suction. Through Fix Where panels have their male sections removed on site, they must be face fixed with a similar type of fastener. The fasteners must be covered by a flashing to maintain the concealed fix appearance. Secondary Flashings to be stitched at 450mm centres (maximum) with carbon steel stitching screws, complete with 14mm diameter bonded non-ferrous washers and colour matched low profiled heads. Tile Rail Fasteners Tile extrusions (Ref No. KS TT A 40 and KS TT A 41) fixed through pre-drilled 8mm diameter holes in external face of insulated KS1000 TT panel with KS TT A FL6 fasteners at maximum 500mm centres. Fasteners General Note Recommended fasteners are available from SFS Intec Limited, Ejot UK Limited, Mage Fasteners Limited, or Ash and Lacy Building Systems Ltd. Tile Colour: Coral

Flashings All external flashings to be made from 0.63mm thick coated to the same specification as the outer sheet of adjacent panels. Colour Standard or alternatively, 0.9mm polyester powder coated aluminium to resemble colouring of external tile face. All flashings to be weather sealed at laps and along the full length by an unbroken bead of 4mm diameter butyl rubber sealant tape, Class A, Ref: NFRC TB36. All flashings to have butt straps and sealed with two unbroken runs of 9mm wide x 3mm thick butyl rubber sealant tape, Class A, Ref: NFRC TB36. AWP fillers to be installed and bedded on silicone sealant, Scapa Tapes Ref: 0004 or similar, at the horizontal joint location with bridging silicone seal applied between AWP filler and supporting structure. All internal flashings to be made from 0.4mm thick steel substrate, to the same specification as the inner sheet, Colour - White. All internal flashings to be air sealed at laps and along the full length by an unbroken bead of 6mm diameter butyl sealant tape, Class A, Ref: NFRC TB36. End laps to be air sealed with PVC backed butyl rubber tape, Scapa Tapes Ref: Vapourflex or similar, or gun-grade sealant Scapa Tapes Ref: 0100 or similar. Panel Lengths Exact lengths to be determined by the cladding contractor from the steelwork drawing, but typically using 6000mm lengths. Construction Requirements Steelwork Tolerance The steel frame must be made and assembled to an accuracy of ±5mm between fixing planes of adjacent sheeting rails. Secondary Steel Support Frame The secondary steel framing system to be designed to accept dead weight of panel, plus tiles, as well as the usual life loads. Installation All fasteners and seals to be of correct specification and installed as indicated on the project construction drawings. Site cut panels must provide accurate, true lines with no distortion, panels to be cut with powered reciprocating type saw and all exposed site cut panels to be treated with a suitable edge protection lacquer. Cut openings for outlets, vents, flues etc. to be the minimum size necessary. Remove all swarf and any foreign matter immediately from the external surface of panels. Panels must be assembled so that joint widths are consistent and parallel. 19 Tile Colour: Ash Insulated Panel Identification & Labelling When the roofing and /or the wall cladding to this building is completed, a label identifying the composition of the insulated panels is to be fitted. This label illustrates the type of Insulated panels fitted, to assist Insurers, Fire Officers, Owners and Occupiers identify the envelope composition. It is a recommendation of the Kingspan Product Guarantee that the insulated panel identification label, which will have a specific project registration number, is installed in an agreed location. The project architect, cladding subcontractor or owner should locate or instruct the location of these labels in an appropriate and accessible location on the building. Safety The contractor is to determine and use a safe method of working throughout the installation and construction period, which complies with HSE & CDM requirements. Model Specifications
