INTEGRATED CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR OFFICES, CLASSROOOMS, MEDIA CENTERS, MANUFACTURING FACILITIES, 911 CENTERS, DISPATCH ROOMS, CONTROL ROOMS DISTRIBUTED BY CUSTOM PRODUCTS & SERVICES, INC. PH: FAX: WEBSITE:

Product Description: The Powerflor USA Cable Management System consists of three basic elements, the Chaseway Floor System, the Electrical System, and the Data/Communications System. All three elements are integrated to function as one cohesive and complete cable management system. All three elements use various interactive components to achieve the total system product. Following is a description of those components, for your review and understanding. Chaseway Floor Components The chaseway floor system consists of three types of components. The floor support structure components are high-pressure injection molded, using a precision engineered, impact modified, poly-carbonate resin. The ramp and rail access components are manufactured from cold-rolled steel. The finish surface material is an 18" x 18" modular carpet tile. Pedestal Support: Our individual pedestal support is 9" x 9" x 2 5/8" high, molded as described above. It is molded with a comprehensive configuration of web type supports to achieve a uniform load of 23,600 lbs. and a point load rating of 1,150 lbs. per square inch. The pedestal is provided as part of a complete panel, or as an individual edge treatment piece. As a full panel, four of these pedestals are adhered to a standard 18" x 18" carpet tile with pressure sensitive adhesive. As an individual edge component, it is provided raw and is field installed onto a field cut, pre-glued, carpet tile. Perimeter Support: To complete the chaseway floor system, we provide edge fillers or perimeter supports. These pieces are used by themselves or in conjunction with individual pedestals, field adhered to pre-glued carpet tiles. These perimeters are designed to be field cut to match any field edge conditions. Our individual perimeter supports are 6" x 18" x 2 5/8" high, molded as described above. They are molded with a series of full height webs, to provide complete support at the edges of the system, in whatever configuration is required.

Foam Underlay: The Powerflor chaseway floor is installed on an underlay of 1/8" thick Volara foam, which provides a sound baffle, as well as an inhibitor of lateral movement for all components. The foam indents when used, to identify all pedestal leg locations, which assist in the installation and relocation of all cabling. Powerport Outlet Grommet & Lids: The integration of the services into the chaseway floor is accomplished with our universal powerport outlet grommet. The powerport is capable of providing the mounting of any of our service outlets (electrical, data, or voice) into the system. They can be located in the center of any of our pedestal supports. The resulting location potential is a 9" grid in both directions on the system. The powerport outlet grommet is 6" OD / 4" ID x 1 1/8" high, molded as described above. It is molded with a rectangular access hole in the bottom, which receives any of our service outlets. The powerport is completed with a selection of lid options. Our standard lid is manufactured from cold rolled steel and finished with a powder coated paint, black in color, and provides individual access to each connection point. We also provide, as an option, our tamper-proof dome powerport lid, which is attached to the powerport grommet with screws, to provide secure protection to the connections. Also, a simple flat powerport lid, usually used for low-voltage cabling connections is available. Both are molded as described above.

Ramps & Railings: The Powerflor system is typically installed on an existing floor, which requires some form of ramp access. We provide three different slope ramp configurations, a 1/6 Slope x 18" long, which does not meet the minimum ADA access requirements; a 1/12 Slope x 36" long, and a 1/20 Slope x 54" long, both of which do meet the ADA access requirements. Our 1/6 Slope ramp is a molded part as described above. Our 1/12 and 1/20 Slope ramps are manufactured from cold rolled steel, 12 gauge, configured with appropriate webbing for complete support. All ramps are available in various widths to meet any installation requirement. The ramp access points, to the system, are completed with railing treatments. Our rails are available in two widths, 24" & 36", and can be attached to each other, end to end, or at angles, so configurations can be achieved to meet any site requirement. The railing base is formed to allow for the meeting of the Powerflor system on one side and to provide a finished edge on the other. All rails are manufactured from cold rolled steel, 14 gauge formed sheet for the base, 1" pipe for the posts, and 1-1/2" square tube for the top cap, then finished with black powder coated paint. Carpet Tile: The chaseway floor system is finished using standard 18" x 18" carpet tiles. Any standard soft back carpet tile can be used and is adhered to our system using a pressure sensitive adhesive. This allows for the easy removal of the carpet tile from the components, for replacement or for future changes to the system. Most hard back (containing PVCs) carpet tiles can be used with our system, but require the use of a permanent adhesive. This is necessary, as the PVC content of the hard backing does not properly adhere to the Powerflor products using the pressure sensitive adhesives.

Electrical System: The Powerflor system utilizes a modular pre-manufactured electrical system provided by Tyco Electronics, Inc. / AMP NetConnect. This power system is an 8 conductor, 4 circuit system providing four 20 ampere circuits per leg. This system provides a # 10 AWG shared neutral conductor to accommodate the higher neutral current caused by triplen harmonics. The system also provides a separate neutral and isolated ground conductor, in connection with its # 4 circuit, to allow an isolated, dedicated circuit for equipment sensitive to powerline noise. This system is UL 183 listed. The system is comprised of the following parts: Junction box provides for the Interconnection of all cable assemblies and as an outlet location. Duplex outlet insert, which plugs into the junction box, provides electrical connection. The duplex outlet inserts are numerically identified for circuit feed identity. Cable harness assemblies provide for the power transmission between junction boxes, and all four circuits are maintained throughout the entire system. These cable assemblies are provided in two types, Single Ended / Line Entry and Double Ended / Power to Power configuration. The single ended cable assembly is utilized for connection of the system to the building s power source. The double ended cable assemblies are utilized for interconnection between junction boxes. Both types of cable assemblies are available in various lengths to meet any project requirement. For additional information, specifications, and capabilities of this power distribution system, please contact the Powerflor USA Engineering Department or Tyco Electronics, Inc. directly.

Data/Communication Systems: Powerflor USA, Inc. recognizes that its client s voice/data requirements vary considerably. It remains our goal that our system meets our client s needs, across the broadest spectrum of horizontal cabling options. It remains our intent to make our system as adaptable as is possible. To that end, we offer our Powerport adaptor plate, which provides us with the opportunity to include, in our system, a much wider selection of horizontal cabling solutions. Please contact the Powerflor USA Engineering Department to discuss your specific data/comm requirements if our standard system does not meet your requirements. The following is a description of our standard data/comm system components. When installed properly and connected to your building s data/comm services appropriately, it provides an enhanced category 5 data transfer rate system. Powerflor USA has selected modular data/comm outlet from Tyco Electronics, Inc. This outlet consists of an outlet housing, and a wide selection of connector inserts. This outlet option, when used with our pre-terminated cabling, and integrated into our total cable management system offers you the greatest flexibility and accessibility to your horizontal cabling infrastructure.

Local Distribution System: Powerflor USA s local distribution center completes our horizontal cabling solution. The LDS utility center functions as either a consolidation point or a distribution point. The base of the utility center provides an open steel support that replaces any standard panel in the system. Internally, it is configured as a standard 19" wire rack mount. All data/comm cabling is easily routed, from each outlet location, through the chaseway floor and up into the LDS cabinet. The cabinet is suitable for mounting a simple patch panel or extensive electronics. Please contact the Powerflor USA Engineering Department for additional information on using this option to meet your needs.
