3 GLAMOROUS OUTDOOR LIVING At our workshop overlooking the River Otter in the beautiful East Devon countryside we craft Otter Pods. The Otter Pod is built combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary living, along with the latest technology, therefore producing truly unique accommodation built to enhance and sit comfortably in its natural environment, hunkering down to sit comfortably and inconspicuously in any surrounding. The Pods reflect the beautiful environment where they are built. Designed and built with natural materials to give externally the effect that the Pod is part of its surroundings, sitting low to the ground and with soft curves and colours so as to blend into the landscape, whilst internally providing luxurious, comfortable accommodation. 5 2 BERTH POD - OVERVIEW The Otter Glamping Pod has been designed and built to give an accommodation Pod with a traditional feel, without looking twee, with a contemporary twist, without looking too modern or cold. The traditional part is delivered with the natural materials used such as the oak external cladding, oak window and hardwood painted external half glazed stable door, with the contemporary twist being in the durable lightweight textured metal Decra Oberon Roof cladding which looks like timber shingles, galvanised guttering and downpipes and high energy efficient multilayer insulation. The Pod being designed wider and sitting lower than many of its contemporaries currently on the market means that it can offer convenient flexible accommodation whilst nestling into any environment you would wish to place it should that be in a woodland, beside a lake, on a hillside or in your back garden. The deep set entrance porch area not only provides cover from the elements but also provides storage by way of the bespoke hinged-topped oak storage benches constructed either side of the front door (no need for muddy wellies or boots to be stored inside the Pod!), where you can also sit and enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon tea or evening drink. The half glazed stable entrance door gives you that little extra traditional accent, allowing you to open up the top half and let the outdoors in and can be finished in a paint colour/finish of your choice. The external oak cladding has been coated with OSMO UV Protection Oil, giving a natural finish which will silver-down naturally with weathering. Internally our Otter Glamping Pod has been designed to give flexible, luxurious and truly turnkey accommodation. It is fully self-contained and equipped ready for your own use or that of your guests, with no need to collapse tables or unfold beds before you retire for the night. With an Otter Glamping Pod there is no need to worry about compromising between whether to have a bed or a settee, a bathroom or a kitchen, a dining table or a wardrobe you can, if you wish, have it all. The internal pine T&G boarding is knotted, primed, undercoated and then top coated using durable internal eggshell paint, which can also be finished in a paint colour of your choice. Small details, like primed and undercoated timber all the way around, means no unsightly lines when the timber moves, as timber undoubtedly does. Attention to detail like this throughout the Pod, extends the longevity of the pristine finishes and reduces the need for intermittent maintenance. We traditionally use Farrow & Ball paints throughout (farrow-ball.com) specifically internal and external eggshell finishes as they give a durable sheen without being too shiny. All ironmongery used is handforged metal, with a pewter finish. In addition to the light provided from the half glazed stable door and rear oak window, there are two velux windows. All glazing is double glazed. The floor is finished with high quality wood laminate flooring, to match, again for durability but natural wood floor finishes could be used if required. This now gives you your start structure, which like having a new home built for you, can then be adapted to suit your own requirements.

8 2 BERTH POD - BUILD SPECIFICATION The Pod has an external size of 3.5 metres wide x metres long x metres high (excluding roof overhangs), providing an internal accommodation area of metres long x metres wide = 14.55m2. The external covered porch has a depth of metres. Constructed, where possible, using locally sustainably sourced materials. The main construction framework is formed using graded treated softwood, external grade ply lined and counter-battened, overlaid with multi-layer technology foil insulation, counter-battened and the walls externally clad with green oak boarding. The roof framework is overlaid with exterior grade ply lined and counter-battened, then overlaid with multilayer technology foil insulation, counter-battened and over-fitted with Decra Oberon Roof Shingles Sheeting, colour Bark, roofing system. Internally all walls and ceiling areas are constructed/ lined using 100mm sheep s wool insulation between stud work, with visqueen membrane fitted for air tightness, overlaid with 15mm pine tongue & grooved painted boarding providing the decorative finish. The floor covering is overlaid on 18mm tongue & grooved water boil-proof ply for durability. Floor joists are constructed using 150 x 47mm C16 treated gauged floor joists, which are overlaid with a damp-proof membrane, with 100mm rigid foil insulation cut between the floor joists. The joists are fixed onto 170 x 75mm treated timber skids, with 10 x 80mm solid steel base skids running the full length of the Pod unit, providing a solid skid for the Pod unit to sit on. The Pods are constructed using the highest eco-level insulation available, in order to maximise heat retention and energy efficiency, to reduce heating requirements in the winter but will also remain cool in the summer. They have double-glazed roof lights, one small solid oak doubleglazed window at the rear and a hardwood painted stable door, with the top leaf double-glazed.
