2 The paper we have printed on is from 80% postconsumer waste and the remaining 20% pulp is TCF (Totally Chlorine Free). This fibre is FSC certified (see fsc.org for details). In recognition, the range has been awarded both the NAPM and Eugropa recycled marks, two of the most prestigious and recognisable recycled certificates available. The ink we have used is vegetable based, allowing the document to be recycled. Sustainable Forest Recyclable Vegetable Based 2

8 Structural Unfactored Load/Span Table (use calculated design windload values unfactored) Span Core Load Uniformly Distributed Loads (kn/m 2 ) Condition Thickness Type Span L in Metres (mm ) Single Span 45 Pressure Suction Outer Sheet 60 Pressure mm steel Suction Inner Sheet 70 Pressure mm steel Suction Pressure Suction L 100 Pressure Suction Double Span 45 Pressure Suction Outer Sheet 60 Pressure mm steel Suction Inner Sheet 70 Pressure mm steel Suction Pressure Suction L L 100 Pressure Suction Notes: 1. Values have been calculated using the limit state method described in the European Recommendations for the Design of Sandwich Panels (ECCS document No ), taking imposed loads, temperature and creep into account. 2. For each value individual and combined load cases with appropriate load factors and temperatures have been considered. These are detailed under Structural Performance in the Building Design Section of the Design and Construction Guide. 3. The table is for dark coloured panels. 4. The following deflection limits have been used: Downward loading L/100 Suction loading L/ For intermediate values linear interpolation may be used. 6. The actual wind suction load resisted by the panel is dependant upon the number of fasteners used and the material of the rail. The fastener calculation should be carried out in accordance with the appropriate standard, a minimum of two fasteners per support is required. For further advise please contact envirocare Technical Services. 7. The allowable steelwork tolerance between bearing planes of adjacent supports is +/- 5mm. 8. Load span tables for spans outside of those shown are available from the envirocare Technical Services. Typical Arrangement Eaves beam Multibeam cladding rail = 1 /3 bay width = Make up = Due to eccentricity of the extra load on the face of the insulated panel, it is important that the cladding rails are restrained from rotating, and that the rails are designed to resist this torsion load. Max height = Diagonal tie wire = Vertical restraints at 1 /3 points Bay width over 6.1 to 9.0 metres 8

9 WoodTherm TM Façade Dimensions & Weight Dimensions: Maximum module 1206mm length x 606mm height (inclusive of 8mm joint). Face panel nominally 10mm thick. Façade & Rail Weight: Nominally 11kg/m 2 General Characteristics Wood Veneer Façade The wood veneer façade has a thermosetting phenolic resin bonded cellulose fibre core. This is faced with natural wood that has been coated with a proprietary acrylic resin - PVDF UV protective finish. Natural Wood The natural wood is typically Ayous or Okume and comes from a sustainable source. Anti Graffiti Specifically designed to resist chemical attack (anti graffiti), the wood veneer façade is BM Trada Q Marked (Cert CE/F04151). Typically 606mm Aluminium Secondary Rail System The extruded aluminium secondary rail system is tested to BS 1474: 1987 (Specification for wrought aluminium and aluminium alloys for general engineering purposes) in 6063/T6 grade alloy. Attachment The extruded aluminium straps tested to BS 1474 in 6063/T6 grade alloy are secured to the wood veneer façade panel using undercut stainless steel expanding anchors. Straps are secured to the aluminium secondary rail system using self drilling / self tapping stainless steel coated black screws. Wood veneer large format façade panel Typically 48mm Fire The wood veneer façade panels have a Class 3 fire rating to BS476-6: 1989 (Fire tests on building materials and structures. Method of test for fire propagation for products) and BS476-7: Class 1 fire rating to BS476-6:1989 and BS476-7: 1997 are available which are Class 0 as defined by Building Regulations.
