If the product is found to have a defect within the terms of this warranty, NorthWest Products will repair or replace the product at NorthWest Product s discretion. NorthWest Products will not be responsible for any labor or other charges such as electrical, plumbing, and/or installation which may be incidental to removing or replacing a defective product. 39 CARE AND CLEANING OF CULTURE MARBLE CLEANERS THAT SHOULD BE USE: Windex Cinch Glass Plus Clean Shower Fantastic Mr. Clean Formula 409 Most cleaners will inform you as to their use on cultured marble by reading the back side of the product. Hard water scale and rust stains can be removed with mild vinegar solution, followed by a fine polishing compound. Mold and mildew can be removed with diluted solution of chlorine bleach and water. CLEANERS THAT SHOULD BE AVOIDED: Soft Scrub Comet Scouring pads Scouring cleaners Ammonia D Acetone Aerosol Cleaners Lysol Disinfectant Dow Disinfectant Crystal Drain Cleaners Daily Leave On Cleansers Ajax i.e. Steel wool FOR BEST RESULTS: Clean the bathing area with a soft cloth, sponge or soft brush WARNING Never let pure bleach come in contact with your marble. All high acidic liquids such as: urine, sodas, chlorine bleach, etc. Will stain marble beyond repair if allowed to stand on marble. If these spills occur, flush with water immediately, then clean. Again, keeping your tub covered during construction will help prevent these problems. Under no circumstances should anyone use putty knives or scrapers of any kind to remove debris from cultured marble. This will scratch the marble beyond repair, and may result in the need to replace the item. Never allow the water temperature to exceed 140 degrees at any time.

40 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR CULTURED MARBLE BATHTUB/SHOWER WALLS IMPORTANT: Real ALL instructions before you start installing the panels. Follow steps 1 12 in the exact order given. The panels and trim in this kit would fit most standard 5 foot tub recesses without any alterations. However, if you have to cut or trim a panel, lay it flat on a solid surface or suspend between 2 saw horses on 2 x 4 and cut it with one of the following: Use circular saw with abrasive masonry wheel diamond wheel. STEP 1: Clean wall and top of tub thoroughly. Trial fit the back wall panel or panels, placing outer edges tightly against the walls. If two or more panels are used the space between panels will be covered with a seam strip piece. Pencil an outline to guide you in applying the adhesive. STEP 2: Using a caulking gun, apply a 100% silicone adhesive generously to the back wall. Run beads in a 4 zig zag pattern 12 apart from top to bottom. STEP 3: Press the back wall panel/panels firmly into the adhesive, pushing the edges tightly against the end walls. STEP 4: Insert a 1/8 shim under each panel to allow space for caulking. STEP 5: Press the back wall panel/panels firmly in place securing all corners and sides in place. Hold the panel/panels in place for approximately 2 to 3 minutes. STEP 6: Mark the position and size of the faucet hole in the correct panel. Most faucet hole openings can be cut with the proper size hole saw. STEP 7: Apply 100% silicone adhesive to end wall in the same pattern you used for the back wall. STEP 8: Press the end panel firmly into place. Make sure the edge is tightly against back wall panel if inside corner trim pieces are not used. If corner trim are used, allow ¼ gap between side and back panel. Repeat steps 7 and 8 for the other end panel. STEP 9: Repeat step 5 for installation of end panels. STEP 10: Apply center seam trim and inside corner trim to center gaps and inside corners using a 100% silicone adhesive. If trim pieces are not used move to step 11. STEP 11: Remove the shims. Using 100% silicone, caulk all openings between tub, shower base and panels; caulk corners where back and end panels meet if trim pieces are used, caulk edge of trim where it meets the panel/panels. STEP 12: Caulk the outside perimeter of wall panels where they meet the sheetrock wall with a paintable caulk. 43 LEXONITE PLUS CARE AND CLEANING Lexonite Plus can be cleaned simply with soap and water or typical household cleaners. If a residue doesn t wash away with running water, a nylon or plastic scrubbing pad can be used to remove any lingering materials. For hard water stains, scale removers can be used. If necessary, abrasive cleaners can be used with a nylon brush or pad to remove build up on the shower walls surface. Cleaners that should be use: Mr. Clean, Magic Eraser, Weiman Granite Cleaner & Polish, Windex, Cinch, Glass Plus, Clean Shower, Fantastic, Formula 409, Kaboom, Non Ammonia Windex etc. Do not use: Do not use leave on cleaning products, such as automatic spray shower cleaners. Do not use cleaning agents that caution use on acrylic, polyester or plastics. Do not allow liquid soap or other household cleaners to dry on the shower walls. Most brands contain chemical additives which will affect the surface finish. Do not use metal scouring pad or wire brush, as it will damage the surface.
