1 June 7, 207 Addendum No. To Plans, Contract Documents and Specifications CNW TSTC Waco Airport Airfield Improvements - Stage III TxDOT CSJ No. 609TSTCW This addendum shall be a part of the Plans, Contract Documents and Specifications to the same extent as though it were originally included therein, and it shall supersede anything contained in the Plans, Contract Documents and Specifications with which it might conflict. Acknowledgement of receipt of this Addendum must be provided on the proposal form in the Contract Documents. Modifications to Front End Contract Documents:. Replace the original bid form in its entirety with the Addendum No. CNW Airfield Improvements Stage III Bid Form. Changes Include: a. New pay item Pipe Repair has been added. 2. Insert Pre-Bid Meeting Minutes, and Sign-in Sheet before Technical Specifications. Modifications to Technical Specifications:. Replace the specification P-52M Excavation and Embankment in its entirety with the attached P-52M Excavation and Embankment (Addendum No. ). Changes Include: a. New item Pipe Repair has been added. b. This will be used to repair pipe (if needed) after it is excavated during sinkhole repair operations. Modifications to the Plans: 2. Replace plan sheet Drainage Detail in its entirety with the new Drainage Detail sheet attached. Changes Include: a. Sinkhole detail updated to include pipe repair notes. Connally Aerospace Center During the meeting the following items were discussed:. Introductions & Roles a. Colin Bible, PE Senior Project Manager, Garver b. Bids proposals will be read at 2:30 p.m. on June 2, 207. i. Patterson Hall Procurement Services 03 0th Street Waco, Texas b. Bidder Qualifications. Requirements are detailed in this section. c. Instructions to Bidders. Requirements are detailed in this section. i. Contractors are to obtain a copy of the Construction Contract General Provisions published by TxDOT AVN. Section 20 pertains to proposal requirements.. Refer to checklist in bid form section. d. Bid Proposal. Contract Time: i. 26 Calendar Days ii. $750 Liquidated Damages per calendar day e. Electronic Bid Proposal f. It was mentioned that the link to download the bid documents within the Notice to Bidders document is broken. There are two links within the Notice to Bidders document and the bid documents can be found at the second link under Notice to Aviation Bidders. 3. Federal Provisions a. The DBE goal is 2% i. Questions regarding goals and Good Faith Efforts should be directed to Beverly Longfellow of TxDOT Aviation at (52) b. General Provisions are provided in a standalone publication entitled Construction Contract General Provisions. Electronic copies are available on TxDOT AVN s web site. i Overall Construction Items a. Runway edge vegetation clearing b. Marking and rubber removal a. 00% of markings and tire marks are to be removed.

Refer to specification P-0 Surface Preparation b. >¼ Inch Cracks are to be repaired with hot poured joint sealant c. >½ Inch Cracks are to be repaired with an asphalt emulsion and sand mixture d. Seal Coat of approximately 9,00 SY on Runway a. Refer to Specification: P-63 Refined Coal Tar Emulsion with Additives, Slurry Seal Surface Treatment b. The Refined Coal Tar Emulsion is to be applied in two coats. c. Refer to table 2 in P-63 for the application rates and mix design of each coat. d. Paid for by the Square Yard e. Remark markings on Runway 7L/35R f. Repair 4 Sinkholes within runway safety area a. Seeding and topsoiling are subsidiary to the sinkhole repair item. b. Refer to P-52 for embankment material and placement requirements. 5. Phasing a. The total project time is 26 calendar days in a 90 calendar day window. b. It is paramount that runway closures are kept to the schedule within the plans. a. Phase (7 Days) Runway Edge Vegetation Clearing i. Subphase A ii. Subphase B b. Phase 2 (6 Days) Marking Removal, Crack Seal, Seal Coat, first application markings, sink hole repair. Phase is to begin on a Saturday at 7am and end on Sunday at 7pm. ii. Subphase 2A iii. Subphase 2B c. Phase 3 (3 Days) Second application markings shall be applied a minimum of 30 calendar days after the first application. 6. Questions Question (): Is materials testing required for the sinkhole repair? Answer (): Yes, testing will be conducted by the engineer. This includes collecting a proctor of the proposed material, and in place density and moisture content. Q (2): If existing crack repair material is removed due to marking removal and rubber removal, how will the reapplication of the crack seal be paid for? A (2): If crack repair material is removed due to approved marking removal and rubber removal operations, the re-application of the crack seal will be paid for under the crack repair pay item. 5 MODIFICATIONS ITEM P-52 EXCAVATION AND EMBANKMENT ITEM P-52 EXCAVATION AND EMBANKMENT is hereby amended with respect to the paragraphs and sections cited below. Replace Section as noted: a. Unclassified Excavation. Unclassified excavation shall consist of the excavation and disposal of all material, regardless of its nature, which is not otherwise classified and paid for under the following items. Material not considered by the Engineer to be suitable for use on the embankment slope shall be disposed of off-site or as directed by the Engineer. Undercuting of material unsatisfactory for subgrade foundation, roads, shoulders, or areas intended for turfing shall be considered unclassified excavation and shall be excavated to the depth specified by the Engineer below the subgrade. Replace the first paragraph of Section as noted: EXCAVATION. No excavation shall be started until the work has been staked out by the Contractor and approved by the Engineer has obtained elevations and measurements of the ground surface. All suitable excavated material shall be used in the formation of embankment, subgrade, or for other purposes shown on the plans. All unsuitable material shall be disposed of as described in Section Replace the second paragraph of Section e Compaction Requirements as noted: The in-place field density shall be determined in accordance with ASTM D 556 or ASTM D 267 ASTM D Stones or rock fragments larger than 4 inches (00 mm) in their greatest dimension will not be permitted in the top 6 inches (50 mm) of the subgrade. The finished grading operations, conforming to the typical cross section, shall be completed and maintained at least,000 feet (300 m) ahead of the paving operations or as directed by the Engineer. Replace Section as noted: BORROW EXCAVATION. When borrow sources are outside the boundaries of the airport property, it shall be the Contractor's responsibility to locate and obtain the supply, subject to the approval of the Engineer. The Contractor shall notify the Engineer, at least 5 days prior to beginning the excavation, so necessary measurements and tests can be made. All unsuitable material shall be disposed of by the Contractor. All borrow pits shall be opened up to expose the vertical face of various strata of acceptable material to enable obtaining a uniform product. Borrow pits shall be excavated to regular lines to permit accurate measurements, and they shall be drained and left in a neat, presentable condition with all slopes dressed uniformly. Insert the following section after as noted: PIPE REPAIR. Pipe repair shall adhere to the details with in the plans and the directions within this specification. Before pipe repair work is conducted, the contractor must receive approval from the engineer. a. CONCRETE. Contractor shall submit historical 28-day break data demonstrating the concrete used within pipe repair work has a minimum strength of 3,500 PSI. b. WATERSTOP. Waterstop material shall be industry standard, designed for concrete structures, adheres to the concrete pipe and can be of PVC, thermoplastic rubber, or other approved material. Replace Method of Measurement Section as noted: The quantity of sink hole repair to be paid for shall be measured per each sink hole identified in the plans. MOD P-52- Addendum No.

6 MODIFICATIONS ITEM P-52 EXCAVATION AND EMBANKMENT In fill sections, the additional fill required to replace the stripped material has not been measured and will not be measured for payment but will be subsidiary to Sink Hole Repair. No allowance has been made in the measurement for shrink/swell. The Contractor shall make his own determination as to the amount of shrink/swell involved in the construction of the embankment. The Contractor shall make his own determination as to the suitability of the excavated material to be placed in embankments and the resulting additional off-site material required for the construction of the embankment. Additional off-site material required for the formation of embankment shall not be measured for separate payment but shall be considered subsidiary to Sink Hole Repair. Seeding and Topsoil shall needed for sink hole repair shall not be measured for separate payment but shall be considered subsidiary to Sink Hole Repair. Scarify the existing soil within the erosion repairs shall be considered subsidiary to Sink Hole Repair The quantity of pipe repair to be paid for shall be measured per each pipe repaired within each sinkhole and approved by the engineer. The contractor shall make his own determination as to the amount of concrete and waterstop material required but material will not exceed the quantities detailed in the pipe repair notes in the plans. Replace the Basis of Payment Section as noted: For Sink Hole Repair payment shall be made at the contract unit price per each. This price shall be full compensation for furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete the item For Pipe Repair payment shall be made at the contract unit price per each.
