Department Maintenance Forces will be performing a majority of the construction work. Full detour The contract also includes various items for as-needed bridge repair work for a variety of structure types. Bridge demand maintenance generally includes but is not limited to structural steel repairs, concrete deck repairs, concrete substructure repairs, bearing repairs, replacement or construction of unforeseen structures, embankment repair and stabilization, and other miscellaneous construction, all as indicated on the drawings approved for various state routes and sections in Allegheny, Beaver, and Lawrence Counties.

Work includes sign structure and highway lighting replacements various retaining walls, landscaping, pavement replacement on the interstate ramps and city streets, and pedestrian facility and signal updates at the Chatham St./Bigelow Blvd. intersection

Let Date: 12/06/2018 Scope: Involves abandonment of the arch culvert and retaining wall which carries and supports SR 0051 above Coles Row/Street, construction of a geosynthetic reinforced soil (GRS) slope in front of the exisiting culvert and wall parallel to SR 0051, roadway work, utility relocations drainage repairs, sidewalk reconstruction, and other miscellaneous work. GRS Slope will be constructed using staged construction while maintaining traffic on SR 0051 with minimal traffic restrictions SR 0051 A98 4 TH Avenue over McCabe Run Culvert Replacement, Coraopolis Borough Est. Let Date: 12/06/2018 Scope: Involves replacement of the culvert, approach roadway work, guide rail installation, and other miscellaneous work. The culvert replacement will be constructed using staged construction which will close one of the two lanes on SR 0051 and local detour of Arch Street

Let Date: 12/06/2018 Scope: Widened bridge replacement to accommodate a new left turn lane from Stoops Ferry to Flaugherty Run, addition of a signalized intersection, sidewalk replacement, approach roadway work, and other miscellaneous work. Constructed using accelerated bridge construction (ABC) methods and will include a shortened duration detour and staged construction of the approach roadways to minimize traffic impacts

56 Spring Lawrence County SR 0168 L16 North Beaver Township to Taylor Township Est. Let Date: 3/29/2018 Est. Cost: $12 - $14.5 million Scope: Will run 2 construction seasons, milling and paving of bituminous pavement with minimal base repairs of the roadway, drainage improvements, update signing and pavement markings, guiderail upgrades, ADA curb cut ramps, and updating traffic signals as needed. Bridge rehabilitation over the Beaver River will also be included in this project as well as reconstruction of the interchange over SR 422, removing concrete and constructing with bituminous, design-build deck replacement for the interchange, and the newly reconstructed bituminous will stop at the approach slab on the near and far side of the bridge over SR 422.
