1 DYNAMASTIC 9200 PREMIUM GRADE / TYPE I Description DYNAMASTIC 9200 is a solvent-free, water-based, non-flammable premium performance Type I ceramic floor and wall tile mastic adhesive. It exhibits long open time, high tack and high sag resistant. It has a high bond strength, high flexibility and is highly water resistant. Standards NAFTA Region -Exceeds A Type 1 -Exceeds CGSB 71-GP-22M Type 1 -ISO D1TE CARICOM Region -Exceeds JBS Uses 1. It is suitable for all types of glazed and unglazed ceramic floor and wall tiles, ceramic mosaic tile, quarry tile and porcelain stoneware tile. 2. It is also suitable for many but not all marble, granite, slate and natural stone tiles. 3. It can be used for residential, and light duty industrial and commercial purposes. 4. Recommended for interior use in dry or intermittent wet conditions such as countertops, backsplashes, residential tub enclosures and shower walls. Limitations 1. Interior applications ONLY, not to be used for exterior applications. 2. Do not use for the installation of glass mosaic tiles, Rosso Levanto, Negro Marquina marble, green marble or any natural stone that is subject to warpage due to water absorption. Use DYNAPOXY 6000 instead. 3. Do not use over particle board, Masonite, Luan, OSB (oriented strand board), presswood, chipboard, gypsum patching compounds, or gypsum leveling compounds, sheet vinyl, vinyl asbestos tile (VAT), vinyl composition tile (VCT), existing ceramic, porcelain or natural stone, Product Data Sheet 9200 Version 1 1

2 self-stick tile, laminate surfaces, epoxy flooring surfaces, fiberglas surfaces, metal, plastic or other dimensionally unstable substrates. 4. Do not use at temperatures below 4 C (40 F) or above 35 C (95 F). 5. When using this product for non-absorptive tiles larger than 6 x 6 (15 cm. x 15 cm.) the time before grouting will need to be extended. 6. When using this product for porcelain tiles allow for additional cure time before grouting. 7. Use ONLY in dry or intermittent wet conditions. DO NOT use in immersed or continual water installations (pools, fountains, water basins, etc.). Use an appropriate cementitous DYNA brand of adhesive for immersed or continual water conditions. 8. Do not apply over waterproofing membranes. 9. Do not use in steam showers or steam rooms or on submerged substrates or shower floors. 10. Do not use in heavy-duty commercial or industrial application. 11. Do not use as a thick-bed mortar, leveling compound, skim-coating, concrete repair mortar or concrete patching material on sub-floors. Recommended Substrates 1. To be used on smooth interior surfaces such as gypsum wallboard (To improve adhesion prime with DYNACRETE 5220), cement or gypsum plaster, cement backerboard, smooth fully cured concrete, masonry block, cement mortars and leveling coats. 2. It can be used for residential floors and countertops in dry areas over EXTERIOR grade Douglas Fir plywood conforming to U.S. Product Standard PS 1.83 and A.P.A. Classification Group 1, C.C. plugged or better or CSA-0121 Standard Exterior Select or (SEL TF) according to COFI classification. Surface Preparation 1. All substrates must be to the recommended tolerances of ANSI A-3 "General Requirements For Tile Installations and ANSI A108.4 for organic adhesive installations. 2. The substrates must be structurally sound, solid, stable, dry, clean and free of grease, oil, paint, dust, tar, wax, curing agent, primer, sealer, or any other substances which may prevent or reduce the adhesion of this product. 3. Cementitious surfaces should be clean and free of any form oil, curing compounds, and laitance. 4. Painted surfaces must be completely sanded, scrapped, or chipped to promote adhesion. 5. Ceramic, porcelain tile and natural stone installations require a substrate deflection rating of at least L/360. Natural stone tile that is 12 x 12 (300 mm. x 300 mm.) or larger, require a substrate deflection rating of at least L/ Surfaces may be cleaned with a DYNA brand of cleaner then thoroughly rinsed and neutralized. Mixing DYNAMASTIC 9200 is ready to use. There is no mixing required. Open the container and use as required. Application 1. Use of a recommended notched trowel with adequate depth to achieve a 100% adhesive contact, after beat-in, to the back of the tiles is recommended. 2. Using the flat edge of the trowel, spread a thin coat over the substrate. 3. Then apply additional material and comb the adhesive with the notched side of the trowel. Cover surface uniformily without bare spots, with sufficient adhesive to insure a minimum wet film thickness of 1/32 between the tile and the substrate after the tile has been beaten into place. 4. Spread only as much adhesive as can be covered with the tiles within 30 to 40 minutes. Otherwise a film or skin may form on top of the adhesive and proper adhesion will not be achieved. Remove any adhesive that films or skins over and apply fresh adhesive. 5. Place the tiles firmly into position into the wet adhesive with a slight twisting motion insuring adhesive contact with the tile while maintaining accurate joint alignment and spacing. 6. Thoroughly beat all tiles into place with a beating block to obtain maximum contact of the adhesive on the back of each tile. As an alternate push tiles back and forth in a verticle and horizontal direction so that maximum contact is achieved. 7. Remove any excess adhesive from the joints to ensure that a minimum of 2/3 of the joint depth is open for 2 Product Data Sheet 9200 Version 1

3 grouting. 8. Make all your alignments and adjustments before 30 to 40 minutes or before the adhesive begins to firm up. 9. Periodically remove and inspect a tile to ensure that maximum contact has been achieved. 10. Clean adhesive and smudges from the face of the tiles with water while adhesive is still fresh. Clean-Up 1. Remove any excess adhesive or smudges from the face of tile surface while the material is still fresh. Use a damp sponge with clean, warm water. 2. Clean tools while the adhesive is still fresh. Use a damp sponge or a stiff nylon brush with warm water. 3. Clean your hands with warm water and hand soap. Grouting 1. Do not walk over, grout or disturb the tiles for at least 24 to 48 hours after the installation or after the adhesive has firmed up. 2. Use DYNACOLOR 1000 or DYNACOLOR 2000 or DYNAPOXY 6100 grouting compounds when grouting. Protection 1. Protect this from freezing in transit and storage. 2. This product is freeze/thaw stable at temperatures down to 14 F (-10 C). It is recommended to protect all water-based products from freezing. If frozen, do not use material. 3. Deliver materials at least 24 hours before tilework begins and provide heated storage. 4. Protect from water until the adhesive has reached its final set. 5. Do not walk on the tiles for at least 48 hours after the installation. Plywood stepping boards may be used after 24 hours when it is unavoidable to occasionally step on the floor. Do not permit heavy traffic to pass on the tiles for at least 7 days after the installation. 6. Protect walls from impact, heavy hammering and vibration on opposite and adjacent walls for at least 14 days after installation. 7. When working in cold temperatures or high humidity protect the tile-work for an extended period of time to permit the adhesive to adequately cure before you grout or permit traffic to walk on the tiles. Expansion And Control Joints 1. Provide expansion and control joints where specified. 2. Do not cover any expansion joints with adhesive. 3. Cut tiles on both sides along the edges of the expansion joints. 4. Also insert the specified compressible bead and sealant to caulk the expansion and control joint. 5. Follow ANSI AN 3.8, "Requirements for Expansion Joints and or TTMAC Detail 301-MJ. Available Packaging Plastic Container Pails: 1 U.S. qt. (946 ml) 1 U.S. gal. (3.785 L) 3.5 U.S. gals.
