5 100 Years Ago The Federal Highway Act was passed into law (1916). Highway network was in its infancy. Less than 3,000 miles paved concrete roads.

6 60 Years Ago The Interstate Highway System was started Dwight Eisenhower's vision $25 Billion for construction of 41,000 miles Created trust fund and introduced fuel taxes. Some concrete pavements built in that era have outlasted the funding mechanism!

7 60 Years Ago The commerciallymanufactured slipform paver took off born here in Iowa. Brought productivity from 1000 ft/day to 5000 ft/day. Single biggest impact in history of our industry. But Just one among a rich history of innovations!

9 A Generation Ago Industry established a vision back in 1996! ACPA brought a group together to envision where the industry should head. Involved 25 experts from industry and public sector. We called it a blueprint (lol)

27 How Has Industry Helped Implementation Led lobbying efforts for technology implementation legislation in highway bills. Most recently in FAST Act: AID-PT Accelerated Implementation and Deployment of Pavement Technologies. Collaboration between ACPA and NAPA. $12M/year for implementation of technology. Good for our industry.
