1 SIKA IN THE PHILIPPINES Sika Philippines, Inc. is a proud member of the worldwide Sika Group, which is wholly owned by Sika AG Switzerland. We have been serving the Philippine market since March Sika has core competencies in seven different markets: Concrete, Refurbishment, Sealing and Bonding, Waterproofing, Flooring, Roofing and Industry, in both building sectors and motor vehicle industry. Sika s history in power plant projects in Philippines started back more than 10 years ago Sika products such as concrete admixtures, curing compounds, epoxy adhesives, non-shrink cementitious and epoxy grout, sealing and bonding, waterproofing and flooring system have become inseparable part of these projects. References of high-profile projects are numerous including PAGBILAO 420MW 3 COAL FIRED POWER PLANT, THERMA SOUTH Sika Philippines Inc. main office is located in Las Pinas City, Metro Manila. Sika also has technical centers in Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro where application trainings, concrete trials mixes and products presentations can be done upon request. This document provides innovative construction solutions, from foundation works to finishing works of a power plant. If you are looking for other products not mentioned in this proposal, please do not hesisate to contact any of Sika s technical centers. 2/10

2 SIKA PRODUCTS FOR S INTRODUCTION Power plant structures are those structure built to provide electricity, properly designed to withstand internal, external loads and aggressive environmental exposures both physical and chemical in order to prolong service-life. Reinforced concrete structures as part of power plant structure are exposed to severe physical and chemical exposure such as impact, vibration, sulphate and chloride exposure. In tropical climates, the combination of above deleterious effects may cause severe defects in concrete structure only in very few years. In order to delay these detrimental effects, high durable, chloride and sulphate resistant concrete become a necessity in constructing power plant structure. The use of silica fume such as Sika Fume combined with Sikament R4-P1, Sikaplast 2000P4 or Sika Viscocrete, high water reducing admixtures with retarding effect become increasingly popular to produce a low permeability concrete and high sulphate resistant concrete. Antisol S Sikament R4-P1 / Sikaplast 2000P4 Sikaplast 2000P4 or Sika Viscocrete + Sika Fume + OPC 3/10

CONCRETE WORKS Main Typical Concrete Requirements: Workability suitable for proper concrete placing High strength Low permeability Sulfate and chloride resistant concrete Durability Sika Recommendations for Concrete design: Proper Selection of materials. Use appropriate cement content and low Water/Cement ratio. Use superplasticizer admixture (Sikaplast or Sika Viscocrete range) for reduction of W/C ratio and ensure suitable concrete workability Use SilicaFume Sika Fume (5-15% by weight of cement) to ensure low permeability concrete with enhance sulfates and chlorides ions resistance and therefore concrete durability. Other Sika Recommendations regarding concrete work: Adhere to good concrete practice ( use of watertight formwork, ensure good concrete vibration ) Proceed to efficient curing of all concrete (and especially of high strength concrete). In order to maintain a satisfactory moisture content and temperature in concrete during its early stages so that desired properties may develop. The strength and durability of concrete will be fully developed only if it is cured. Failure to prevent such excessive evaporation, frequently causes plastic shrinkage and loss of strength in the material near the concrete surface. Antisol S is a concrete curing compound based on emulsified paraffin and metallic silicates, respectively. Antisol S - for surfaces which will receive further treatment works. REPAIRING WORKS There are several techniques to correct the defects on newly built concrete such as: Epoxy for patching: Sikadur 31CF Castable epoxy grout : Sikadur 42 Cementitious ready to use for patching : Sikatop 122 Cementitious for pouring: Sikagrout 212 or Sikagrout 215 for higher/earlier strength Hybrid (Epoxy and Cementitious) for pouring: Sikadur 732 epoxy bonding bridge and Sikagrout 212 or 215 for pouring into a formwork 4/10

GROUTING MACHINE BEDDING Sikadur 42, a three-component epoxy resin based grout, particularly suitable in case of vibration and on structures that has static & dynamic loads. SikaGrout 212, a non-shrink cementitious grout, have been widely used all over the world to grout machine bedding. SikaGrout 215/ Sikagrout 215 Plus, high early and ultimate non-shrink cementitious grout can also be considered For other speciallity grouts (i.e UnderWater Grouts), please consult us Grouted Using Sikadur 42, SikaGrout 212 or SikaGrout 215 depending on the requirements WATERPROOFING WORK Watertightness is a main requirement in constructing power plant. Sika provides a complete system ranging from external damp-proof coating (Sikaproof Membrane), waterstops (Sika Waterbars), HydroSwelling profile for construction Joints (Sika Hydrotite CJ Type) and joint sealant to integral waterproofing system using Viscocrete +Sika Fume. SikaTop Seal 107 is a two component, pre-dosed & pre weighed, ready to use resin modified cementitious materials used as waterproofing slurry. Sika Waterbars AR Profile Sika Waterbars O Profile 5/10

JOINT SEALANT TREATMENT Example of Construction and Expansion Joint sealing in concrete structure SikaHyflex 160Construction or Sikaflex Construction Sika Expansion Boards SIKA Waterbars O Profile Sikaflex Construction is a one-component polyurethane based sealant with movement capacity of up to 25 to 35 % of average joint width. For higher trafficable resistance, Sikaflex Pro-3 or SikaHyflex 160Construction can be used Sikaflex Construction - Contraction Joint FLOORING SYSTEM Hereafter a selection of flooring material usually required in power-plant projects: Sikafloor 3 Quartztop mineral dry shake floor hardener for heavy cementitious floor that require high mechanical resistance without specific chemical resistance requirement. In addition or alternatively a liquid type floor hardener, Sikafloor Curehard 24 application is also possible for enhanced abrasion resistance of a densed surface finish If required, due to high concrete moisture content or in case of required application on green concrete due to time constraint, Sikafloor 81 Epocem HC applied in 2mm thick is a proven solution prior to epoxy resin application 6/10

Sikafloor 161: 2 component solvent free epoxy primer. Also used as primer of Sikagard 63N product on concrete surface. Sikafloor 263SL is 2 component solvent free resin which when added with Sikadur Quartz sand provide a self-levelling floors suitable for normal up to medium heavy wear with chemical resistance requirements. Sikafloor 264 is an epoxy coating either with smooth or textured finishes for medium wear exposure Sikafloor 315, is an Aliphatic Polyurethane thin Top coat that can be applied over epoxy resin system such as Sikafloor 263SL for providing an extra abrasion and scratch resistance in areas subject to frequent traffics SikaGard 63 N or Sikafloor 381 for high chemical and mechanical resistance concrete structures and for the protection of steel structures from severe chemical exposures. Sikalastic 870 BT is a two part, elastic, 100% solids, very fast curing polyuria spray applied membrane where exposure to high acidic and alkaline chemical concentration are present. Sikalastic 870 BT is for machine application only. PROTECTIVE COATINGS Hereafter a selection of material usually required in power-plant projects: Inertol Poxitar F for concrete & steel protection coating from aggressive environment. SikaTop Seal 107 as carbonation protection layer and waterproofing coating. SikaGard 63 N for the protection of concrete and steel on highly chemical exposures. Sikalastic 970 BT for high chemical resistant protective coating requirements.
