9 MAJOR PROJECTS Experience and Expertise PROJECT DNA has extensive experience in managing infrastructure development for various government departments, such as Education and Health, as well as parastatals such as Dube Tradeport and SANRAL. DNA members hold professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), Institute (PMI & PMSA). DNA is NHBRC registered and has acted as Principal agents on a number of projects to date. DNA has extensive expertise in the construction, refurbishment and equipping of centres in Kwazulu-Natal Rural areas. Examples are two projects that DNA recently successfully executed in partnership with a major NGO client (MIET Africa) and the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education (KZNDoE). of Support Centres in Kwazulu-Natal DNA is now in its third year of the construction of Support Centres in Kwazulu-Natal. The construction of these centres fall under the Full Service School Programme of the Kwazulu-Natal Department of Education. DNA have project managed the successful design, construction and handover of Twenty Six (26) of these units and currently on the construction of a further eight (8) of these units totalling to a value of R70 Million. Education Centres Supporting Rural Development (EC) In addition to equipping the education centres and facilitating the delivery of programmes, we at DNA were instrumental in developing a design and blueprint for the buildings to be erected. All buildings were designed in collaboration with the Physical Infrastructure Units of the two provincial education departments, and conformed to the norms and standards for buildings of the Department of Public Works. DNA facilitated all land ownership and local government issues during the planning stages, and managed the tender processes and contractual arrangements relating to construction, abiding by the rules and regulations governing awarding of government tenders. The construction of the centres was managed well within the allocated budgets. Total of six (6) Education Centres were construction and One Hundred and Twenty (120) centres equipped during the last three (3) years. Total amount of contracts amount to approximately R50Million. Other prestigious projects include the $1.4 Billion Atlantis, the Palm project in Dubai, the R700 Million project at ushaka Marine World in Durban and the recently completed R8 Billion King Shaka International Airport (KSIA) in Durban.
