4 G5040 Kombi Baling-wrapping technology The G5040 Kombi simultaneously combines the worksteps of baling and wrapping in a single machine. This technology has revolutionized the baling and wrapping process and introduced numerous advantages: Time-saving The enormous throughput and impact force of this wrapper-baler combination cuts down the time required for work on the field significantly. 5 GÖWEIL / G5040 Kombi G5040 KOMBI Schematics of the functionality 1 Feed pick-up The feed is scooped up by the pick-up of the baler and shaped into a bale in the forming chamber. 2 Bale transfer Once the bale is fully formed and wrapped, the tailgate opens, allowing the round bale to be directly transferred from the forming chamber to the mobile wrapping table. The four bale guide rollers ensure that the bales are guided along securely even in slope positions. 3 Wrapping process and feed pick-up The tailgate closes while the mobile wrapping table is moved to the wrapping position at the same time. The twin wrapping arm wraps the set number of film layers around the bale. While the wrapping process is ongoing, the feed to be compressed into the next bale is picked up and compacted in the forming chamber. 4 Bale deposit Once the round bale is fully wrapped, the film is cut off cleanly. When the bale is dropped, the wrapping table moves to the rear and lowers all the way to the ground. This provides for a particularly gentle deposition of the bales. 7 G5040 KOMBI Wrapper GÖWEIL / G5040 Kombi / Pages Two of the most vital properties every baler-wrapper combination needs to offer are a smooth work flow while the bale is passed on from the baler to the wrapper and a wrapping process that is completed without a hitch every single time. These areas are exactly where the G5040 truly shines: The bale is passed on from the baler to the mobile wrapping table. BALE TRANSFER A flawless and rapid completion of the bale transfer is crucial in the decision to purchase the right baler-wrapper combination. This is an area where GÖWEIL is and always has been on the cutting edge and broke new ground when they were the first to launch a system offering a linear bale transfer: Quick, clean and straightforward The wrapping table moves under the forming chamber and transfers the bale from the forming chamber to the wrapping table as soon as the bale is fully wrapped and without ever touching the ground. Secure bale guiding even in slope positions The four rotating bale guide rollers safely guide the bale along. This guarantees that the bale is transferred in a perfectly secure and reliable manner even in steep terrain. The bale transfer itself merely takes a few seconds. The tailgate already closes while the wrapping table is moving to the wrapping position. The baling process can continue without any interruption. The twin wrapping arm wraps the bale in no time at all. WRAPPING PROCESS The twin wrapping arm and the two 750 mm film stretching units ensure that the bale is wrapped in no time at all. The wrapping process will always be finished faster than the baling process. Since always guided securely, the bale is wrapped perfectly even in slope positions. This provides for a work flow that is always as smooth and efficient as can be. Two sensors reliably monitor the film and respond quickly when the film has run out or tears. The film monitoring unit comes standard. A single-film option is available on request. When a roll of films runs out, the machine will automatically switch to single-film mode. During this process, the feed rate of the wrapping table is reduced to ensure an overlap of 50 %. Once the bale is fully wrapped, the film is cut off cleanly by two cutting knives before the bale is automatically or manually deposited in a gentle manner at the desired location.

8 G5040 Kombi Particularities DESIGN The robust and solid construction and workmanship of the frame guarantee an exceptionally long lifetime of the baler-wrapper combination. The G5040 offers outstanding agility thanks to its compact design and the narrow spacing of its axles. In addition, its low center of gravity allows for a level of maneuverability that is second to none even in slope positions. LEVERS The manual controls come in particularly handy when the machine requires maintenance and servicing. They allow the operator to control all functions directly at the machine. The driver can easily leave the program control in the tractor cab when he, for example, needs to change the film or replace blades on the baler. HYDRAULIC FILM STORAGE You cannot achieve a high daily output without a sufficient supply of film. The two film holders on the G5040 Kombi allow you to carry along a total of up to ten rolls of film. A hydraulic tilting device lets the operator load or remove film with ease and at a comfortable working height. This makes it possible to wrap approximately 200 to 300 bales depending on the bale diameter and the number of film layers. CHASSIS The G5040 Kombi always offers the same easy handling and control whether you are traversing a field or transporting it on the road. The frame is mounted on a tandem axle chassis that is supported on 500/50-17 tires. The narrow axle spacing allows the machine to operate in a way that is gentle on the soil and smooth even when you are traveling on the road at 40 km/h. Customers can opt to have their baler-wrapper combination equipped with a dual-line air brake system or a hydraulic brake system.

9 ROTATING WRAPPING ARM WITH STATIONARY WRAPPING TABLE This system reliably prevents the bale from falling off as it is not subjected to any kind of centrifugal forces. The conveyor belts and the four rotating bale guide rollers guarantee that the bale will continually move forward and, consequently, ensure a uniform overlap of the film. When it is time to drop the bales, the mobile wrapping table is lowered all the way to the ground. This provides for a particularly gentle deposition of the bales. TWIN WRAPPING ARM WITH FILM STRETCHING UNIT The twin wrapping arm is equipped with two 750 mm film stretching units. Three patented plastic rollers each provide for uniform stretching. What is more, the rollers are not sensitive to temperature. This helps save film and guarantees firmly wrapped bales. The stretching units are height-adjustable. This ensures that the bales will always be wrapped perfectly around their own center. The quick-release system makes it possible to change empty rolls quickly and effortlessly. The film monitoring unit will cut off the wrapping process if the film runs out or tears. AUTOMATIC FILM CUTTING AND HOLDING SYSTEM The stainless steel cutting knives guarantee that the wrapping films will be cut cleanly and precisely. At the same time, the film is fixed in place by the cutter lever. Shortly after the wrapping process begins, the standard float position ensures that the films will unwind easily. GÖWEIL / G5040 Kombi / Pages PROFI PROGRAM CONTROL The program control PROFI controls the entire work flow in fully automatic fashion including operation of the tailgate. All steps are shown on the display. The cycle starts automatically as soon as net binding is triggered. All functions and settings relevant to the machine are adjusted directly on the program control. LOAD SENSING The standard hydraulic Load Sensing control system automatically adjusts the oil volume to consumption. This control system, thereby, not only performs several functions simultaneously, it also reduces fuel consumption at the same time. This results in a greater bale output per hour. The machine can also be operated in conjunction with tractors without load sensing pump.

10 G5040 Kombi Work flow The following steps explain how simple and convenient it is to work with the G5040 baler-wrapper combination: BALING PROCESS BALE TRANSFER WRAPPING PR The feed is scooped up by the pick-up the baling and the net binding process are controlled by the round baler. As soon as the binding process starts, the wrapping table moves to the transfer position. The tailgate opens automatically, passing the bale on directly without allowing it to touch the ground. The tailgate closes simultaneously with the table s return to the wrapping position. This minimizes the time needed for the transfer. While closing, the cutter levers press the two films against the cutting knives, effecting a clean cut of the films. The film ends are reliably held in place by the film cutters. The process is fully automatic. When the bale is dropped, the wrapping table moves to the rear and lowers all the way to the ground. This unique tipping geometry ensures that the bale is deposited in an extraordinarily gentle way. The wrapping table will then move back to the front again and be ready to receive the next bale transfer!

12 G5040 Kombi Baling straw The G5040 Kombi is, of course, also capable of forming bales of hay and straw and conveying them through with no problem at all: CONVEYING THROUGH You can toggle the G5040 Kombi between wrap bale and conveying through (hay and straw) in a second using the program control. This helps save a tremendous amount of time, especially on work days when you need to switch between bales of silage, hay and straw numerous times. Bales of hay and straw with a height of up to 2 meters can be loaded through without wrapping. DEPOSIT IN PAIRS The function drop double bales lets you automatically drop bales in pairs. Both bales of straw can then be transported away from the field at the same time using Göweil s DRT double transport frame.
