Made from reclaimed wood and recycled plastic, our products are wood composites. They look and feel like natural timber, but require none of the maintenance of traditional timbers. The result is TEKWUD products are highly stable, low maintenance products requiring very minimal maintenance. ENVIRONMENT TEKWUD is leading the way with its environmentally friendly, low maintenance range of wood composite decking boards, which are made from recycled plastic and non-virgin sawdust products. TEKWUD is committed to conserving the environment, and developing products that are environmentally responsible. Approximately 90 per cent of the material content of our products is either recycled or reclaimed. Each lineal meter of TEKWUD products contains approximately 30 recycled plastic milk bottles and around 1.0 to 2.5 kilograms of reclaimed saw wood dust. TEKWUD is particularly suitable for ecologically sensitive areas as it contains no nasty chemicals that could leach out. The environment doubly benefits as the product uses recycled and waste products which would otherwise be squandered, potentially ending up as landfill. The saw wood dust used within our products is a by-product of timber milling. By using this, we are conserving our precious native forest timbers, and making positive inroads to reducing global warming and habitat degradation. As TEKWUD requires no painting, staining or oiling this avoids using potentially polluting preservatives.

3 There are no formaldehydes used in the production of TEKWUD and there is no noticeable VOC's after processing. TEKWUD has a policy, and has installed facilities to allow us to fully recycle products when they are at the effective end of their lives.
