9 General Instructions All surfaces to which DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane is to be applied must be sound, stable and free from dirt, dust, loose debris, grease etc. DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane is applied by a double head spraying machine. One nozzle sprays the DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane and the second sprays the accelerator. DAYSON Fast Liquid M. can be applied over inclined planes, horizontal and vertical surfaces. DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane should be thoroughly mixed for 5 minutes prior to use using the spraying machine s pump. DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane and liquid accelerator are simultaneously sprayed at a ratio of 10:1 (10 DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane: 1 Accelerator). Spray a quantity of 6.5 Kg / m2 of DAYSON Fast Liquid M. to obtain a dry layer of 4mm thick. Footstep is permitted 3 hours from spraying completion. Let dry for 5 days for a complete dry, depending on local whether 9

10 Instructions for use 1. Accelerator solution preparation: a. Solid accelerator should be diluted with water in a separate container prior to use: 80% water, 20% accelerator by weight. 25 kg of solid accelerator are dissolved in 100 L of water to prepare the liquid accelerator used for spraying. b. Thoroughly mix to obtain a homogeneous solution. 2. Surface preparation : a. All surfaces to which DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane is to be applied must be sound, stable and free from dirt, dust, loose debris, oil, grease or honey combs etc. b. The primer is applied by spraying DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane directly on the surface without the accelerator. c. Before applying as a primer, DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane should be thoroughly circulate by using the spraying machine s pump for 5 minutes to obtain homogenous emulsion. d. The primer is sprayed under low pressure at a quantity of gr/m 2 ( gal/100 sq.ft) covering the surface with a thin, even layer, to result a black surface with no excess primer. e. Let dry for about 1 hour (depending on weather conditions) 3. Application : a. Place the DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane container and the accelerator container next to the spraying machine. Introduce the suction hoses of each material to its specific container. Operate the machine and recycle the solutions. b. DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane should be thoroughly mixed for 5 minutes prior to use using the spraying machine s pump. c. The accelerator should be applied to the DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane in a foggy spray flow, using no excess accelerator but in a way the all the sprayed DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane is covered by the accelerator. d. Check that water is exuded from the new layer in droplets and not streams. e. Check that the water exuded during the creation of the membranes is clear. Cloudy or brown water is a sign that the reaction is not complete and the membrane is impaired. f. Footsteps are permitted 3 hours from spraying completion. g. Let dry for 5 days for a complete dry, depending on local weather. h. Spraying should be done by moving the spraying gun at a continuous pace horizontally or vertically until achieving the required thickness. i. DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane may be applied to damp but not waterlogged surfaces. i. Do not apply during rain or if rain is expected. The waterproofing layer has to be protected before backfilling with soil. Protect the waterproofing membrane with drainage sheets. The compaction of the backfilled to a distance of 2 m (6ft) from the wall should be done by a manual vibratory hand held compactor. 10

11 No heavy compaction equipment should be allowed to travel close to the waterproofed wall. The backfill should not contain any stones over 40 mm. DaysonFAST System Waterproofing of horizontal layers should be protected with nonwoven Polyester spun bonded geotextile with a CBR puncture strength over 1000 kn (BS EN ISO 12236), and a layer of screed or concrete. 13 4. Waterproofing flat roofs (S1-S4) in accordance to ETAG 005 (certificate no. ETA 09/0016) a. Surface preparation - as above. Prime the surface with The Bituminous component of DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane without accelerator at a quantity of approximately 250 gr/ sq. m. b. Apply to the wet primer the polyester non woven geotextile 200 g/sq.m tensile strength 2.5 kn/m, CBR puncture test 0.5 kn. c. Let dry for 1-2 hours d. Spray the geotextile with the bituminous component of DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane (without accelerator) approximately 1 kg / sq. m, until the geotextile is fully impregnate and covered with a thin layer of material. e. Let dry for four hours f. Apply at 2-4 kg sq.m of DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane with accelerator over the impregnated geotextile. g. Apply two layers of the geotextile in corners and around penetrations in the roof, soak each layer separately with DAYSON Fast Liquid Membrane without accelerator, and after drying spray as in paragraph g. h. Coating - it is recommended to coat the material with a high solar reflectance coating. Consult the manufacturer for instructions. 13
