1 Fibre-reinforced lightweight base coat in accordance with EN Characteristics Areas of application Properties exterior and interior as a lightweight and low-stress base coat (approx. 10 mm) onto even masonry (e.g. porous concrete), as well as 2-layer applied base coat with full-surface mesh insert in the second layer, 1st layer approx. 10 mm, 2nd layer approx. 5 mm reinforced with Sto-Glass Fibre Mesh Basalt-fibre-modified very low-stress can be top-coated with all Sto finishing renders very good application properties polystyrene-filled Technical data Criterion Minimum layer thickness Maximum layer thickness Standard / test regulation Value/ Unit 8 mm 10 mm Mortar class EN CS II Mortar class DIN V P II Apparent density of cured mortar EN g/cm³ Flexural strength (28 days) EN N/mm² Compressive strength (28 days) EN N/mm² Modulus of elasticity dynamic (28 days) Factor µ for resistance to water vapour diffusion TP BE-PCC Water absorption (class) EN Thermal conductivity EN 1745 Thermal conductivity EN ,600 N/mm² W 2 = c 0.20 kg/m²*min W/(m*k) for P=50% 0.30 W/(m*k) for P=90% Notes 20 W 2 Table value Table value Fire behaviour (class) EN A1 Non-combustible Spreading rate 1,250 L/t The characteristic values stated are average values or approx. values. We use natural raw materials in our products, which means that the stated values can vary slightly in the same delivery batch; this does not affect the suitability of the product for its intended purpose. 2 Requirements The substrate must be firm, dry, load-bearing and free from grease and dust. Damp or not fully cured substrates can lead to defects in subsequent coats, such as blistering or cracking. The masonry must comply with the applicable standards as well as the approvals/application guidelines of the stone producer. The instructions of VOB/C DIN as well as DIN V must be observed for assessing and preparing the primer. Preparation Check existing coatings for their load-bearing capacity. Remove any non loadbearing or structurally weak coatings. When used on highly absorbent substrates, a primer (as absorption barrier) or twolayer application is recommended, working fresh-in-fresh (i.e. pre-spray first layer with thinner consistency, then apply entire render thickness with thicker consistency). A bonding bridge made of StoLevell Reno or StoLevell Uni must be applied to smooth/non-absorbent substrates such as concrete and XPS. Application Ambient conditions Do not apply when a night frost is expected. It is recommended to stop work or protect the facade if there is a strong wind. Application temperature Lowest temperature of substrate/air: +5 C Highest temperature of substrate/air: +30 C Processing time Mixing ratio At +20 C: approx. 2-4 hours The product should be applied after approx. 2 hours, however. 6.5 l of water per 15 kg Preparing the material Pour water into a container and then add the dry mortar material. Stir for approx. 2 minutes, allow to mature for approx. 5 minutes and then stir again for approx. 30 seconds. For machine application the amount of water added depends on the requirement of the respective machine/pump. Consumption Type of application Approx. consumption per mm of layer thickness 0.83 kg/m² Layer thickness of 10 mm 8.30 kg/m² Layer thickness of 15 mm kg/m² The consumption of the material depends on the application method, substrate and consistency, amongst other factors. The stated consumption rate is only to be used as a guide. Where required, precise consumption values should be established on the respective project. 3 Depending on the type and absorption behaviour of the substrate, use Stoplex W as absorption barrier if necessary. Base coat + reinforcement layer if necessary: Top coat: StoMiral, Sto-Textured Render, all Sto finishing renders and Sto paint systems. As fine-textured render in the interior, also coat with Sto paint systems after curing. On sides heavily exposed to the weather, thin-coated finishing renders ([<(><<) ] 2 mm), heterogeneous blockwork or large insulated surfaces, an additional reinforcement layer with and Sto-Glass Fibre Mesh is recommended. The product is not suitable as a substrate for tiles. Application by machine, manually Apply the product in the intended layer thickness using a spraying device and trowel off with a plasterer's float. Work interruptions may not occur on building corners. The surface is roughened or planed after a drying time of max. 1 day (at 20 C/ 65% relative air humidity). The layer thickness for single-layer application must range from at least 8 mm to max. 20 mm; as base coat, approx. 15 mm average layer thickness or thin-coat render, approx. 10 mm average layer thickness. The end result depends a lot on the application method, the tools used for application, and the substrate. Drying, curing, ready for next coat The drying time depends on the temperature, wind and relative humidity. During unfavourable weather conditions it is imperative that suitable Depending on the weather, curing takes approx. 1 day/mm of layer thickness. In case of coating with StoMiral or Sto-Textured Render, the drying time is 7 days.
