Contractor shall field verify all quantities and measurements. 2. Contractor shall be responsible for locating and protecting all existing utilities. 3. Two-way traffic shall be maintained at all times during construction. 4. Prior to beginning work, contractor will provide temporary signs and barricades at no direct pay: furnish, install, maintain and remove temporary signs, construction signs and / or barricades: and provide flagmen to comply with all other requirements regarding the projection of the work, workers and safety of the public. Work shall be done in accordance with LA DOTD Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges, Sec Driveway aprons shall be tied-in to existing hard surfaced drives or extend two (2) feet behind the culvert, whichever is greater. For clarification purposes, tie-in new asphalt to existing asphalt/concrete aprons at no direct pay. 6. All turning radii shall be a minimum of thirty-five (35) feet. 7. All existing sewer lines shall be tied-in at no direct pay. 8. For clarification purposes, tie-in new asphalt to existing asphalt aprons at no direct pay on existing gravel roads. 9. Any additional work performed by the contractor without prior written approval from the St Tammany Parish Department of Engineering, the cost of the work will be borne by the contractor and will not be reimbursed by the Parish. Project Summary: All labor and materials necessary to improve road surfaces with; 2 asphaltic cement overlay, 12 full depth patch and installation of shoulder material 727 Mobilization: All labor and materials necessary to accomplish preparatory work and operations, including those necessary for movement of personnel, equipment, supplies and incidentals to the project site. Mobilization costs shall follow rules called out in the LA DOTD Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges, Sec Lump Sum

Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is not allowed in the asphalt mix. All debris is to be removed at no direct pay. Sta to Sta Average 18 3,866 Square Yard Shoulder Material: All labor and materials Necessary to furnish and construct, provide and place Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) as shoulder material in accordance with LA DOTD Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges, Section 401. Contractor shall place material flush with asphalt wearing surface and a minimum of 6 wide where possible. RAP shall be placed around driveway aprons and turning radii. TEMPORARY SIGNAGE, BARRICADES AND SHOULDER MATERIAL COST SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE ASPHALT WEARING COURSE ITEM UNIT PRICE. Driveway aprons on gravel/dirt drives shall be tied-in to existing hard surfaced drives or extend two (2) feet behind the culvert, whichever is greater. Aprons are to be installed per LA DOTD Rural Drive Details. For clarification purposes, tie-in new asphalt to existing asphalt/concrete aprons at no direct pay. Existing asphalt driveway aprons are to receive a new topping of asphalt. Transition aprons onto existing concrete drives are to be 18 minimum and transition aprons onto existing asphalt drives are to extend 2 beyond centerline of pipe. Work shall be at no direct pay. Transition aprons shall be sealed where the edge tapers down to the existing hard surface drive to prevent unraveling of aggregate. Sealer shall be applied with either a brush or roller and shall be 6 wide with three inches extending over the apron and three inches over the existing hard surface drive. Work shall be done at no direct pay. Transitions to side streets and existing asphalt on street being paved must me cold milled to allow a smooth transition between the new wearing course and existing asphalt. All work is to be done at no direct pay.

All material must be removed to minimum depth of 12 from the existing asphalt road surface and replaced with a minimum 12 of asphalt. Removed materials, including large asphalt patches, shall be disposed of outside and away from the project site at no direct pay. The repaired asphalt shall have a smooth, uniform surface, free from ridges, waves, depressions or loose material. The re-compacted roadbed shall be primed in accordance with Section 505. The contractor shall protect the compacted roadbed from damage due to either public traffic or construction operation and shall maintain the roadbed in satisfactorily condition at all times, including the asphalt patch.
