1 THE HONG KONG INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS ENGINEERING GRADUATE TRAINING SCHEME A Eligibility to HKIE Scheme A Training for 2018 Graduates onwards* of Engineering Programmes Accredited by the HKIE (Curriculum under Academic Structure) (Last updated: September 2018) Remarks: (i) The academic structure was implemented in the higher education sector in September Under the new academic structure, students would receive six-year secondary education and four-year higher education. (ii) Please refer to the separate document titled Accreditation Notes of the HKIE Accredited Engineering Programmes under Related Notes for the notes of the HKIE accredited engineering degree programmes. * The eligibility results align with accreditation status granted by the HKIE. For details of applicable graduates / intake year, please refer to individual case for details. 2 CityU-31 BEng (Hons) in Civil and Structural Engineering (FT) -- CVL N/A STL Graduates of this programme are eligible for Structural (STL) Scheme "A" Discipline on condition that they have completed any one of following courses: (i) "CA Wind and Earthquake Engineering", (ii) "CA Advanced Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering", or (iii) "CA Final Year Project", which must be in structural engineering. CityU-32 BEng (Hons) in Building Services Engineering (FT) -- ACE This programme is eligible for Scheme A in Aircraft (ACE) Discipline on condition that the graduates must have completed "CA Electrical Engineering Practices". BSS N/A ENY FRE This programme is eligible for Scheme "A" in Energy (ENY) Discipline on condition that the graduates must have completed the elective module of "CA Electrical Engineering Practices". Graduates of this programme who would like to join Scheme "A" in Fire (FRE) Discipline should refer to the "Admission Requirements of the Fire Discipline" for the top-up requirements to be fulfilled. 2

6 CityU-40 BEng in Nuclear and Risk Engineering (FT) (^) JS1692 ENY Graduates of this programme are eligible for Energy (ENY) Scheme "A" Discipline on condition that they must have completed the elective course "MBE Dynamics and Control" to 2019 Graduates CityU-41 BEng in Bioengineering (FT) (^) BME The programme is eligible for Scheme "A" in Biomedical (BME) discipline subject to the following top-up conditions: Department's confirmation on the graduates' satisfactory completion of lectures concerning the following topics: (I) Human Resources Management (HRM), leadership and business operation and development (II) Medical equipment / device / system: - practical based practice, operation and safety controls - life cycle management - project management and requirements - design and manufacturing standards - international standards - nomenclature systems - maintenance management - regulation and harmonization The above top-up conditions should be fulfilled before completion of Scheme "A" training. The responsible experience towards Corporate Membership would only be counted after the conditions have been satisfied to 2019 Graduates 6

7 CityU-42 BEng in Total Quality Engineering (FT) (^) MIE N/A 2018 to 2019 Graduates CityU-43 BEng in e-logistics and Technology Management (FT) (^) INF This programme is eligible for Scheme "A" in Information (INF) Discipline on condition that the graduates must have completed: (1) "MBE Material Handling and Tracking Technologies Workshop", and (2) a project with substantial IT content to 2019 Graduates LTE N/A 2018 to 2019 Graduates MIE This programme is eligible for Scheme "A" in Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering (MIE) Discipline on condition that the graduates must have completed three credits of one of the following electives: (i) "SEEM Work Design", (ii) "SEEM Quality Engineering", (iii) "SEEM Quality Engineering I", or (iv) "CS Multimodal Interface Design" to 2019 Graduates 7

Graduates of this programme are eligible for Structural (STL) Scheme "A" Discipline on condition that they have completed any one of following courses: (i) "CA Wind and Earthquake Engineering", (ii) "CA Advanced Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering", or (iii) "CA Final Year Project", which must be in structural engineering. 9
