ROPS Roll Over Protection Structure

ROPS Definition: System of structural members whose primary purpose is to reduce the possibility of a seat-belted operator being crushed in the event of a machine roll-over. Here at QMW we have made ROPS design and manufacture our legacy of excellence and established ourselves as the industry leader in ROPS design and manufacture for a large range of plant and machinery. QMW have designed and destructively tested ROPS since 1989 and have successfully implemented a full sized destructive testing facility which is accredited and certified by NATA. We are also a quality assured company to ISO We also apply in house FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to optimize and prove our prototypes prior to build to ensure we manufacture the safest and most practical design possible. In addition to our market leadership in this field, we are also proud to represent AIG on Australian Standard Committee on ROPS and also Australian Standards on the ISO Committee. The following pages are examples of our product range for plant and machinery. For further details please contact your QMW Sales Engineer.

~ ROPS SERIES

The Q~ROPS Series design is the epitome of forward thinking in relation to designing a product of tomorrow, for today s market. For many years the light to medium truck commercial market have had to compromise the size of their trucks to accommodate the weight of the ROPS over the front axle. Now with the implementation of the Q~ROPS Series, QMW have the met the market and exceeded customer expectations with this innovative new design. The Q~ROPS Series boasts a light weight, ease of fitting, stylish design which has accommodated our customer s needs in relation to safety, quality, delivery and cost. We are continuously working to innovate within the Q~ROPS Series to add new stock to the stable to accommodate a larger variety of vehicle types. We have also added to this new design by implementing the optional mine attachment kit which is a group of key attachments that can be purchased through QMW to add to your new Q~ROPS. The kit options are all bolt on, fully adjustable and are fully endorsed by QMW to attach to your ROPS. These attachment options prevent the need to weld or drill a ROPS, which under the standard is prohibited. The optional kit includes beacon light bracket, beacon guard, indicator mount, indicator guard, aerial & flag pole mount, work lamp mount & fire extinguisher mount. Also, all components such as indicators, beacons and fire extinguishers can be sourced through QMW so your new Q~ROPS can be mine ready the moment you leave our gates. We have a saying that truly defines our ethos here at QMW. WE INNOVATE NOT IMITATE

VEHICLE & MACHINERY ROPS

QMW have designed, tested and manufactured a large range of ROPS/FOPS products for a multitude of plant and machinery. Our test laboratory is one of the largest in the world and this enables us to perform destructive testing for almost any type or size of machine and we are often contracted by Original Equipment Manufacturers to perform design and testing for non standard applications. We have over 2000 ROPS/FOPS design s established in our system to date and counting, so chances are we can accomodate your requirements or design something specific to your needs. 12 EXCAVATOR ROPS/FOPS

With the introduction of a new standard for ROPS on excavators being released, Original Equipment Manufactures have begun to release new models of excavators with integrated ROPS cabins fitted to them. At QMW we have designed and destructively tested an over fit certified ROPS canopy to suit almost any type of excavator up to 50 tonne. Our ROPS frames can be retrofitted to non ROPS excavators to ensure they meet all relevant OH&S requirements & mine compliance.

OPERATOR CABINS

At QMW we pride ourselves on our ability to provide a fit for purpose innovative design that exceeds expectations. Our cabins are designed with one key focus, the operator. With that in mind, protecting the operator is one of many considerations that are made during our design process. Once we have established a ROPS/FOPS structure that exceeds industry standards we meticulously identify the key features that improve operator performance through ergonomic methodology. Testament to our design and innovation is only measured by our performance and customer satisfaction. To date, our legacy stands as a high quality manufacturer of cabins which is only succeeded by our ability to meet customer expectations of all facets of lean methodology in relation to our ability to deliver in full and on time. QMW engineering is rated as world class in relation to engineering, design and our ability to facilitate our customers needs. We take pride in our ability to provide our customers with a full turn key service that gives you the confidence that the job is done right the first time, because our reputation is staked on your business and your most important asset, your operator..

CABIN REPAIR, REFURBISHMENT AND RE-CERTIFICATION

Operator cabins at QMW are a bit of a niche... We forge our reputation on our ability to provide our customers with a high quality fit for purpose product QMW understand that the mining industry can offer many harsh conditions for mining equipment to operate in. As a result mining equipment/plant and in particular, dump truck cabins are often damaged by way of either corrosion or impact/collision. This damage may compromise the structural integrity of the ROPS frame and as such these cabins are rendered unusable. QMW Industries are aware of the considerable costs and lead times for genuine replacement cabins and as such have implemented a program to refurbish and recertify the cabins back to as new condition. CERTIFICATION Relevant Australian standards allow for the repair of ROPS structures and can be re-certified. This re-certification can only be done by either the original engineering manufacturer or by a person who is experienced with the design of ROPS.

CRANE SECTION MANUFACTURE AND REPAIR

Since 1984 QMW Industries has been successfully repairing and re-certifying damaged crane sections and entire cranes to both Australian and International standards. Genuine replacement sections are very expensive and in most cases take months to be delivered from the original crane manufacturer. The benefits of repairing these damaged sections are that we can offer realistic repair costs and minimise the amount of downtime so the crane is back working as soon as possible. To guarantee that the repairs carried out conform to the relevant standards & codes of practice, QMW Industries have the ability and contacts throughout the world to source original materials or in the case of non availability, materials of equivalent grade and specifications together with the manufactures recommended repair procedures. By applying the standards Australian Welding Standards for exotic steels, the establishment of weld procedures and by using only qualified and tested welders, we can ensure that all repairs are performed to the highest quality standards. QMW Industries also supply documented evidence of repair by means of written reports. These reports include: Engineering survey & inspection results. Repair procedures applied. Material identification, certification and traceability. Destructive and non-destructive testing results. Welding procedures and welder qualifications. Photographic evidence of repairs undertaken. Full load test certification. So when thinking crane repair, think Quickly Manufactured and Warranted. We have to get it right the first time because the second time might be too late!

ELEVATED WORK PLATFORMS & MANBASKETS

Meets and exceeds all safety standards QMW Industries saw the need for designing and manufacturing purpose built work platforms to suit various applications within the mining industry. Our platforms are designed to affix to a range of machinery to enable personnel to work at heights in safety, not offered by smaller machines and work platforms in a specific application. Whilst meeting all expected standards, QMW Industries incorporates differences and options not offered by others. These upgrades are what makes QMW Industries certified work platforms rise above the rest. As per most products that we manufacture, we will design to suit the customer s needs and requirements ensuring that the product is fit for purpose in its application. Standard Features Built in accordance to AS1250 & In-swinging door - self locking Toe guard all round Quick Hitch or Fork Tyne mounting Zinc rich primer & industrial enamel top coat Grip span floor Internal handrails All welding to AS1554 Materials to AS & AS Design codes to AS3990.
