New Opportunities surface New Problems: the law of unintended consequences With collaboration comes noise. 16

Introducing Caruso Acoustics Why? Trends in how people work and the way space is designed are causing sharp increases in noise. Open plans Open ceilings with no insulation Exposed ventilation ducts Hard surfaces everywhere; glass, stone, tile Warehouse space converted to offices Compression- moving workers closer together Elimination of workstations is removing important sound absorbing materials 17

Introducing Caruso Acoustics Why? Trends in how people work and the way space is designed are causing sharp increases in noise. Today s community space creates noise related problems for people: - Concentration - Productivity - Job satisfaction - Employee retention - Stress - Personal health and welfare - Cost of insurance & Workers Comp Claims - Can even contribute to heart disease Caruso offers a solution 18

Caruso Acoustics A Premium Acoustic Solution that serves to enhance the visual impact, as well as the sound quality of any interior space - A broad range of wall, ceiling, or free-standing options, as well as LED lighting to create visually dynamic spaces, whether new construction or renovation - Superior and proven technology, our panels are among the best performing. In many cases 25% better than the competition in sound absorption - Products are designed for simple installation; less time, smaller crew. - Falcon and Thonet products, particularly MOSS and Booths, create effective means of mitigating sound and now these can be combined with Caruso Acoustics to enhance performance and create a visually dynamic solution. 19

What exactly is our product? The goal of acoustic products is to minimize the reverberation of sound caused by structural noise or human noise. At the heart of the product is a melamine foam core called Basotect. This is a material made by BASF, a global chemical manufacturer, used across many industries for its lightweight, fireproofing, and sound absorption capabilities 33

Basotect Cellular Structure 34

What exactly is our product? Major Industry Applications for Basotect Aerospace - High speed trains - Ventilation & fluid filtration - Automotive sound solutions - Construction ( fireproofing & sound abatement) - Consumer goods ( Mr Clean) Basotect has a unique structure; a flexible, open cell foam characterized by a three dimensional network structure, consisting of slender webs, which gather and trap sound waves inside the core. 35

What exactly is our product? continued Environmentally responsible, the plant is ISO14001 certified Will meet ASTM-E84 fire code We meet ISO 354 for reverberation One of the most fire retardant options for sound proofing (needs > 1000 F to burn). Will not drip melt, but rather shrivels and chars under intense heat. Core is upholstered in a sound-neutral fabric that can be a solid color or custom printed. 22 standard colors Custom printing allows for the product to become part of the art budget or communicate a concept or idea. We have products that are appropriate for any application. Schools, Offices, Hospitals, Hotels, Gymnasiums, and Indoor Swimming Pools. 36

Space Planning Analysis How many panels will improve my space? We have developed an online form that asks numerous questions about the facility. - Floor material, wall material, ceiling material, window location - Cubic foot volume of space - Activity in the room Sound engineers will put the information into a software package and determine how to create the best result. A report is furnished showing current noise assumptions, optimal solution, and the end result. Client can decide if they like the solution or want to scale up or scale back, depending on budget. 37
