2 Now, install the new ipd grille and reattached the retention clips that were removed in the previous step. As your installing your new grille from ipd be sure to position the factory hood release arm to the left of the center rib on the grill as shown. 4 Note the existing spring in the factory location as shown and remove it from the release assembly. 5 Modify the spring using a small pair of needle nose pliers so that it resembles the spring in the picture. 3 6 Install the newly modified spring onto the release assembly as shown. The newly bent end of the spring should attach to the metal lever while the unmodified end should attach to the plastic release arm. 7 This will allow the hood release to remain behind the face of the new grille and provide a tidy appearance while still allowing the hood release to function. For the mesh grille from ipd, Part# 850MB The 850 Models require a modification to the hood safety latch. Mesh Grille 008 ipd, PI-7

4 With a T0 Torx driver loosen the top screw and remove the screw that holds the plastic linkage assembly to the metal latch hook.loosen the other torx screw to remove the old pull handle and replace it with the supplied pull. Attach the lock ring to the outside of the shaft to keep the new piece from falling off the plastic piece. Attach the spring to the hook on the new pull. 4 Before attaching the new pull handle assembly to the latch hook, insert the hook end sideways into a hole in the mesh. Locate the hook through the second hold down as close to center as you can. Then locate the linkage assembly onto the latch hook and replace the screw. Test the mechanism before fully closing the hood. When closed the hook will pull tight against the grill and hook into the mesh of the grille. 4 Mesh Grille 008 ipd, PI-7

5 ipd emblem badge INSTALLATION For mesh grilles: Start by locating the emblem holder in the grill where you prefer it. Insert the holder so that the four legs pass through the mesh and protrude through the rear. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, curl the legs one at a time as shown in the picture. Be sure to curl the legs firmly so that the emblem holder is held tight to the grille and does not wiggle about. For egg crate grilles: Start by locating the emblem holder in the grill where you prefer it. Insert the holder so that the four legs pass through the grille and the base of the emblem holder rests against the ribs of the grille providing stable mounting. 5 Mesh Grille 008 ipd, PI-7

6 Using a pair of needle nose pliers bend the legs one at a time so that they curl around the ribs of the grille as shown in the picture. 4 You may find once the initial bending has been done that removing the emblem holder and curling the legs slightly further will ensure a tight fit to the grille for final assembly. warranty One Year Limited Warranty ipd warrants to the original purchaser that the parts manufactured and/or sold by ipd (the Product) is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use. ipd warrants that the Product will perform substantially in accordance with the specifications set forth in the documentation provided with it. The above express warranties are made for a period of the lesser of,000 miles or months from the date the Product is installed in your vehicle. Any improper use, operation beyond capacity, substitution of parts not approved by ipd in writing, any alteration or repair by others, or any removal, defacing or altering of the identification shall void this warranty. There is no warranty on high-performance or race related parts due to the nature of usage. The purchaser shall notify ipd at of any defect within the warranty period no later than thirty (0) days after purchaser discovers the defect. Should any failure to conform to this warranty appear within the warranty period, ipd shall, on notification, correct the nonconformity at its option, either by repairing any defective part, or by making available, FOB ipd s plant, a repaired or replacement part. The purchaser must insure any defective item being returned because ipd does not assume risk of loss or damage while in transit. No payment or reimbursement shall be made for installation, removal, transportation or other charges. The remedies set forth in this instrument are exclusive, and the liability of ipd with respect to any sale shall not exceed the price of the product on which the liability is based. EXCEPT AS STATED OTHERWISE IN THIS WARRANTY, ipd MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. ipd shall not in any case be liable for special, incidental, consequential, indirect, or other similar damages arising from any breach of these warranties even if ipd or its agent has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
