1 D4B-IC2A-R-T-3 SERIES BRO I/C AIR TIGHT HOUSING This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable code by a person familiar with the construction and operation of the product and the hazards involved. Read all of these instructions before installing. Disconnect power prior to servicing or installing. 2 3a 4 3b Choose direction hanging bars are to be inserted. Slide hanging bars onto housing base plate Line up bottom edge of hanging bars with bottom of wood joist and hammer in tabs. Nail or screw hanging bars into place 3a Position trim hole to desired location by sliding housing 3b Use centering holes on either side of housing base plate to line up a row of fixtures To hold housing in place, bend the tab with pliers into hanging bar 5 Ground Neutral Hot Remove knock out and make appropriate electrical connection. See Dimming Instruction Diagram Mark approximate fixture location in ceiling Cut open using trim hole as your guide Connector hangs through hole until completion. 2 D4B-IC2A-R-TL-3 SERIES BRO I/C AIR TIGHT TRIMLESS HOUSING This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable code by a person familiar with the construction and operation of the product and the hazards involved. Read all of these instructions before installing. Disconnect power prior to servicing or installing After drywall is cutout, expose mounting harnesses on housing baseplate and install trimless frame. The trimless frame is designed to work with drywall up to thick Apply factory supplied fibre mesh over trim collar edge. Insert cardboard cover into opening Apply thin coat of plaster mud onto trim collar and fibre mesh, using collar lip as the height guide. For best results feather mud 2 from edge of lip Remove cardboard cover. Use a small screwdriver to clean the inside lip of the trim collar of any excess drywall mud 5 6 Paint ceiling. Excess paint on inside edge of ring may restrict the trim from sitting flat Connector hangs through hole until completion. Insert mating connector from trim and install trim into ceiling. Read all of these instructions before installing. Disconnect power prior to servicing or installing Choose direction hanging bars are to be inserted. Slide hanging bars onto housing base plate Line up bottom edge of hanging bars with bottom of wood joist and hammer in tabs. Nail or screw hanging bars into place To hold housing in place, bend the tab with pliers into hanging bar insert transition ring and fasten with 3 machine screws and washers Install wood ceiling Adjust transition ring height by loosening the 3 machine screws to make ring flush Connector hangs through hole until completion. Install the I/C housing as shown on the I/C housing install pages Double sided tape is factory applied to base plate. DO NOT REMOVE 2a 2a 2b 3 Install ceiling vapour barrier as per building code Cut hole into vapour barrier and apply barrier to double sided tape. This will eliminate airflow above the housing and the I/C Housing flange Note: Poor application of vapour barrier to double sided tape will jeopardize the integrity of the Air Tight Fixture. Apply Carefully. Install drywall as normal.
