15 TECHNICAL INFORMATION Specification of FX5090 Specification for surface preparation, priming and topcoat is identical to FX5000, FX5002, FX5060 and FX5120. See Technical Data Sheet. For a C1 environment, top coat may be omitted (see TAD0023 for details) For a C2 environment, sealer coat must be used (see TAD0028 for details) By C1 we mean at all stages, including transportation and construction phases. In other words FX5090 must not be left exposed to water at any time unless it has a sealer coat. FX5090 must not be applied directly to zinc rich primers or galvanised steel. A tie-coat must be used. For details and other recommended primers see TAD0007.

16 TECHNICAL INFORMATION Application of FX5090 FX5090 can be applied by standard airless spray equipment, including petrol powered pumps. It can be applied to over 1000µm DFT, and achieve a single coat. Its maximum sag tolerance is 1800µm. Previous coats must be fully dry prior to application of the next coat which would normally mean one coat is applied leaving up to 24 hours between coats. Application Min Max Spray Tip* 19 thou 23 thou Fan Angle* Product Temperature >10 C <30 C *appropriate to the size and shape of work to be coated

17 TECHNICAL INFORMATION Drying Information All water-based coatings dry by evaporation of water. Best Drying Conditions: Air is warm and dry, good air movement. Worst Drying Conditions: Air is cold and damp, poor air movement (static). Very humid atmospheres will also delay drying as water cannot evaporate effectively. Drying time 15ºC 23ºC To Touch 3 hrs 1½ hrs To Recoat* 6 hrs 4 hrs To Handle Depends on thickness applied * Extended over-coating times may be required at low temperature and/or high film thickness. Air Temperature >5C, ideally >10C Relative Humidity <80%
