Color Coding READ THIS BEFORE YOU BEGIN Purchased greenhouse and all accessories & systems require a specific installation sequence. All components have been separated into different categories based on common grouping and/or the chronology of installation. Each category has been color coded. All parts within any given color category will be labeled accordingly, and each color category will have its own respective instruction manual. The following illustrates a highly recommended order in which all components should be installed. IMPORTANT: There are some procedures that can occur simultaneously, depending on available assistants and equipment, but there are some procedures that MUST be done in chronological order. Before you begin, review below step recommendation and all technical documents to better understand overall building kit design. 1 RED - MAIN FRAME (Rafters, Purlins, Chord Support and Cabling) 2 3 ORANGE - END WALL FRAMING (Columns, Cross Beams and Door Framing) BLUE - END WALL CLADDING (Polycarbonate, Termination and Flashing) 4 GREEN - ROOF CLADDING (Film, Inflation Kits and Termination) PINK - AIR DISTRIBUTION (Fan, Vent Tube and Shutter) YELLOW - EVAPORATIVE COOLING (Framing, Cooling Pads and Plumbing) BROWN - END WALL VENT (Framing, Motor and Drive Shaft) WHITE - VENTILATION (Exhaust Fans, Ceiling Fans and Light Traps) PURPLE - STATIC BLACKOUT (Monofilament, Fixation and Sealing) BLACK - MOVABLE BLACKOUT (Fabric, Leading Edge, Motor and Drive Shaft) GRAY - BLACKOUT SIDE POCKET (Framing and Polycarbonate) Near the beginning of each color-coded instruction guide, you will find information to lead you through the installation and assembly steps. This information identifies at what point during the assembly the respective components are installed or attached to the main building frame. Since we cannot anticipate changes made by the customer/contractor, all instructions assume the use of accessories purchased from us to be used on the building the accessory was designed for. Each instruction guide presents the basic steps to install the color-coded components. When in doubt, consult the services of a qualified contractor experienced with the assembly of similar structures. 2 Revision date:

Color Coding BLUE End Wall Cladding Installation Chronology MUST READ: All components that are color coded BLUE represent the end wall cladding of the greenhouse. ***Color coded components that MUST be installed before installing BLUE: RED ORANGE ** ** ** WHITE PURPLE PINK **See following page for chronology specifics If above color coded components have not yet been installed, put this manual down and consult those manuals to install those components before returning to this manual. If above color coded components have been installed, gather all components that have been color coded with a BLUE label or paint splotch, and continue on the next page with the end wall cladding installation. ATTENTION: Recommended installation order is not critically definitive. Depending on personal preference and/or availability of assistants and equipment, there are some procedures that can occur before or simultaneously with this procedure. Color coded components that can be installed before or at the same time as BLUE: PINK GRAY YELLOW WHITE PURPLE Revision date:

Color Coding IMPORTANT: There are certain components of other color coded groups that MUST be installed before installing BLUE components, without necessarily having to install the rest of those color coded components. Please read specifics below and verify that pertaining components of those color coded manuals have been installed before installing the end wall cladding. WHITE & PINK The attachment through-bolts of the exhaust fans & air distribution fan will need to be installed before installing the end wall cladding. It is highly recommended to install the air distribution fans of the PINK color coded manuals and the fans & adaptor boxes of the WHITE color coded manuals before installing the end wall cladding, or else the cladding will obstruct the fan installation. See example. 6 End Panel Installation END PANEL INSTALLATION The steps that follow describe one way to complete the polycarbonate panel installation. The materials and parts needed to install the polycarbonate panels include: Polycarbonate panels (clear and black-out), vent tape (#104774), and foil tape (#DH8002) Expandable foam weather stripping (#111983) Aluminum H-channel (#113236Z127), aluminum end cap channel (#104548) and aluminum U-channel profile (#104213) Tek screws (#FA4484B) and neo-bonded, galvanized washers (#102921B) Read the following information before starting: U-channel (104213) is used to finish the polycarbonate panel edges around door and vent openings. H-channel (113236Z127) is used to join polycarbonate panels at the seams and to splice the black-out polycarbonate panels and the clear polycarbonate panels at the level of the horizontal end wall headers. Expandable foam weather stripping (111983) is used to line the outside facing planes of the end wall headers to light-seal the gaps around obstructions when the black-out polycarbonate panels are installed. Tek Screws and neo-bonded washers are used to secure aluminum channel and panels to end wall framing. Install the polycarbonate panels with the UV-protected side to the outside. Mark this side with a marker if needed after removing the protective film. "NO DRIP" side of the black-out polycarbonate goes to the inside of the greenhouse. ATTENTION: Remove the protective film from the polycarbonate panels. Do not stack panels in direct sunlight. Allowing the film to remain intact and in direct sunlight will make the film difficult if not impossible to remove. Consult the polycarbonate panel layouts in the technical documents towards the end of these instructions for the location and lengths of each panel. The diagrams are located at the back of these instructions. ATTENTION: Position panels as shown on the panel diagrams. Using a panel in the incorrect place can affect the placement of subsequent panels. In addition, the amount of aluminum profile used between panels may not be adequate if additional seams are created. POLYCARBONATE PANELS FOR END WALL VENT Polycarbonate panels for the vent are cut from the larger panels used to cover the end wall. To cut the panels to size, measure each opening of the vent frame and cut a panel to cover the opening. Cut the panel approximately 1/4" smaller than the actual size of the opening to allow for expansion. REMEMBER: Panel slides into the top rail channel and sits tight to the top of the bottom rail when properly cut and installed. Tape the open cells at the bottom of each panel using vent tape. Tape the open cells at the top of each panel using DH8002 foil tape. Mark UV Side Always remove the protective film and mark and install the UV-protected side to the outside of the greenhouse. X During preparation, rest the edges of the panels on cardboard or other material to protect them from dirt and damage. Do not install panels on a windy or stormy day or when such conditions are expected. Apply vent tape to the lower end of all lower panels and foil tape to the upper end of all upper panels to seal the cell openings. Tape Panel 6 Revision date:

End Panel Installation INSTALL WEATHER STRIPPING & TERMINATION TUBING Consult the technical documents at the back of these instructions for further detail. Repeat steps for both end walls. 1. Using 1/4"x3-1/4" tapcon screws (FA7165), attach sections of 1"x1-1/2" tubing (113301) directly to the ground along the base of the 30' opening, as shown below. Run a bead of construction sealant between the ground and the tubing. Cut to fit as needed. IMPORTANT: Verify that the outside facing plane of the tubing is FLUSH with the outside facing plane of the endwall columns and base plates. See below. 2. Line the outside faces of the 2"x2" vertical & horizontal headers with expanding weather foam tape. Extend out to the rafter leg to the ground, as shown below. Polycarbonate panels will "sandwich" the weather tape as it expands creating a light deprivation seal along the header profile. View as seen from the outside looking in. Mark the panel if needed to ensure the uv-protected side is installed toward the sun. "No Drip" side of the blackout polycarbonate is installed to the inside of the shelter. Install panel cells vertically to allow condensation to drain from the cells. Apply vent tape over the open cells at the bottom of each panel before installation. If installing in an end wall with ground post mounting, embed 6" of panel below finished grade. Install the u-profile to finish fan, door and vent openings. See technical documents at the back of these instructions. 1. Starting in the center of the end wall, and working outward, install both blackout polycarbonate and clear polycarbonate panels as shown. Reference the tables below, details on the following pages, and the technical documents at the end of these instructions. 2. Before securing panels to the wall, verify panels are square on the frame and in the desired position. Attach using FA4484 Tek screws and B neo-bonded washers. Install the Tek screws through the panels & h-channel and into the cross beams & columns every 18". Do not overtighten screws! 3. Using the end rafter as a guide, cut the excess polycarbonate. Tape exposed upper cells using DH8002 foil tape. IMPORTANT: Only ONE 32" panel per end wall will be used for the 'Panel D' locations. See below. 4. 15 Silicon Sealing The following steps describe areas to seal along the installed panels for both water and light leakage. NOTE: The amount of sealant needed to complete the following steps will vary and depends on how thick the sealant is applied. Call Customer Service at to purchase additional sealant if needed. CLEAR SEALANT FOR WATER LEAKAGE 1. Open the supplied DE4007 clear sealant and apply a thin bead to the outside of all u-channel and end cap that is finished fans, doors and vent openings. 2. Seal the seams between the H-channel intersections. 3. Seal the top edge of the horizontal run of H-channel. 4. Return to any holes in the H-channel or clear polycarbonate and repair these using the sealant. 5. Seal the upper edge of both end walls with a bead of sealant. See the dashed line in the diagram below. Frame shown may differ from actual frame. Dashed lines indicate areas to seal with water leakage prevention silicon (DE4007). OPAQUE SEALANT FOR LIGHT LEAKAGE 1. Open the supplied DE4009 opaque sealant and apply a thin bead along the bottom of the termination tubing, as shown to the right. 2. Return to any holes or gaps where light might leak into and repair these using the sealant. ATTENTION: Once entire blackout system has been installed, and is in the CLOSED position, repeat this step where light is visibly leaking through, if applicable. Revision date:

Light Deprivation ADDITIONAL LIGHT DEPRIVATION When greenhouse and blackout system are installed completely, and the blackout system is in the "closed position", there is potential for light leakage based on framework. Inspect the entire greenhouse frame for potential gaps where external light could leak into the greenhouse. Many minor details and touch-ups will need to be taken care of at the customer's discretion. A great deal of carefulness, craftsmanship, and thoroughness is required, and proper installation will eliminate most potential issues black tape is included to seal gaps accordingly. Other customer-supplied light sealing agents can also be used such as opaque foam, non-clear caulking, regular duct tape etc. Below is an example diagram of a trouble-area in the end wall cladding where light may leak into the greenhouse.
