2 This assessment relates to the use of KNAUF INSULATION EARTHWOOL MASONRY PARTY WALL SLAB in masonry cavity party walls. Refer to Insulation Manual Section and for description, use and typical construction details. The requirements of the Building Regulations relating to fire spread in cavity walls, can be met in buildings of all purpose groups without the need for cavity barriers, provided the construction complies with the provisions detailed in Approved Document B Volume 1 - Diagram 13, and Approved Document B Volume 2 - Diagram 34. Earthwool Masonry Party Wall Slab has a density of 18 kg/ m3 thus meeting the criterion for use in Separating Masonry Cavity walls and Robust Details E WM 1,2,3,4,5,6,10, 12,13 for 75mm cavity and E WM 11,16,19,21,22,26,28 for 100mm cavity. When installed in close proximity to flues/heat producing appliances follow the relevant provisions of Approved Document J. Earthwool Masonry Party Wall Slab contributes to zero-effective Part Wall U-value when used in conjunction with effective edge sealing. The products must be installed in accordance with the Knauf Insulation installation instructions.
