10 TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS COMFORT PLATFORMS Everytime we speak to people that wear gloves, the first thing they tell us is that they have to be comfortable, which is why we have two dedicated comfort platforms AirTech has set the standard for breathability. It was designed and developed to enhance comfort by eliminating heat build up inside a glove. Our customers have told us that there is nothing like it on the market today. It allows them to wear the glove longer and more comfortably than anything they have ever used before. AirTech is delivered, where the coating is applied, through a patent micro-foam nitrile coating. These tiny bubbles provide a network of micro-tunnels for heat dissipate naturally, allowing the hand to breath. AirTech enables what we refer to as 360 full hand breathability. Cool hands are happier, safer and more productive. Look for the AirTech logo., ErgoTech focuses on making the glove work like a second skin. ErgoTech concentrates on maximizing the form, fit and feel of our gloves, which results in a superior user experience. An example of this technology is our compounds. We have developed our compounds to conform to the hand which maximizes their flexibility during use. Wear a MaxiFlex and you'll see how the compound moulds to your fingers to offer exceptional dexterity, flexibility and tactile sensitivity. We are continually studying the dynamics and dimensions of the hand as the basis for creating our own hand moulds which are used in the coating process. During our patented coating process, our highly trained and skilled engineers regulate the thickness of the coating, assuring it's consistency across all parts of the glove where it is applied. We also strictly control how much of the coating is absorbed into the liner. Why? It ensures that only soft fibres on the inside of the glove come into contact with the user's hand. This attention to detail is also apparent when matching the liners to the farmers used in the dipping process. Our prorange, offering 6 sizes, from 6 (xs) to 11 (xxl) in palm, 3/4, fully dipped and driver styles. It's not a one liner fits all approach that is widely used in the industry. We utilize thirty four liners all of which are individually tailored to consider the compound composition used, dip line required and hand mould itself. The end result is the ultimate fitting glove. ErgoTech is designed, developed and integrated into our gloves to mimic the natural contours of the hand, to deliver ourstanding flexibility, dexterity and tactile sensitivity. 11 PERFORMANCE PLATFORMS Our performance platforms enable us to deliver safety characteristics that provide solutions where hazards may exist. This includes providing solutions to cut, thermal\ liquids and grip hazards. These technologies can be used individually or collectively to provide uncompromised performance. CutTech combines and blends high performance yarns and fibres to impart different levels of cut protection with the driving philosophy to deliver high levels of comfort and wearer satisfaction. We only source our fibre requirements from long term key partners. Once in-house, they are covered, twisted and plated at our production facility, the end result being innovative yarns and fibres that are light yet flexible. They are engineered to perform. Recently added to the CutTech range was a permanent nitrile reinforcement located between the thumb and first finger. This increases the wear in an inherently weak area of most gloves, which increases giove life and reduces cost-to-wear. It also offers additional cut protection and confidence when handling sharp edged parts and components. CutTech, transferring optimal cut resistance through innovative fibres. At ATG we view grip as a key safety criteria. Our GripTech "micro-cup" finish enhances grip properties making parts are handled more securely. In addition, it reduces hand fatigue associated with a lack of a proper grip. To obtain this highly efficient effect, a patented coating process is applied only where necessary, in order to enhance and maximize dexterity and flexibility. This technology has been cleverly designed to support you in dry and/or oiiy environments. It is frequently used in conjunction with CutTech to strike the optimal balance between cut resistance and grip. If it doesn't slip then it doesn't cut. GripTech decreases hand fatigue and increases safety. Many work areas today contain varying degrees of liquids including water, oils and many chemicals. The LiquiTech barrier has been designed to safeguard you. It's characterized by an industry leading coating technology, unique to ATG, delivering lightweight, flexible coatings applied to very fine gauge seamless knit liners, with various coating weights.the combination of coating and seamless knitting technologies can be engineered to provide liquid repellence, along with low and high level chemical resistance, while retaining superb levels of comfort not normally associated with liquid repellent and chemical resistance gloves. ThermTech combines coating and seamless knitting technologies that impart thermal insulation properties to resist heat or cold. ATG has in-house state of the art facilities to blend heat resistant yarns and fibres to produce products with high thermal insulation properties, without sacrificing flexibility, dexterity, weight and comfort. Comfort and performance for unique working tools

12 TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS PERFORMANCE ATG s technology platforms are continuously developed by a core team that matches market research and marketing analysis with the latest technological developments. This forms the foundation upon which we continually improve the customer s experience through constant innovation. "Assured Protection for oily environments We know from the many field visits that the materials you re handling are changing. MaxiCut has been designed for people needing cut protection in challenging environments. Whatever you do MaxiCut has been developed to offer you even more comfort in these tough conditions. "Controlled Performance in wet or oil environments With over 40% of all work conducted in the metal fabrication, automotive, general assembly and petrochemical sectors containing lubricating or preserving fluids, ATG designed a MaxiDry range to provide you "controlled performance in these difficult environments. Comfort and performance for unique working tools

13 TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS What is Glove Strikethrough? Strikethrough is the term given when the coating of the gloves appears on the inside of the glove. To check for strikethrough, simply turn the glove inside out. You should only see liner material. If you see any coating material on the inside, then the glove has strikethrough. Glove liners are dipped in a process which should result in the liner being coated on the outside of the glove liner only. However, most manufacturers do not have the technology to do this or the type of coating does not allow for this, which means that strikethrough of the coating occurs. This results in the coating coming in direct contact with the skin. This has significant discomfort implications, namely: 1. Gloves are less breathable 2. Heat builds up in the gloves 3. Hands become sweaty 4. Hands slip within the gloves Besides the above issues, there are 3 other important factors to consider : Harmful contact, Hand safety and Glove cost. If a glove wearer works in an environment with moving parts and machinery and there is a risk of the hand getting caught and injured, it is important that the glove does not assist in this type of injury. If, for example, the tip of the hand gets caught in the machinery, then the person should still be able to safely pull their hand out of the glove and leave only the glove behind in the machinery. Gloves with strike though limits this from happening. Most companies acknowledge that safety and comfort should come before cost. However, in the competitive industrial environment, cost is always a factor. Very simply, gloves that are more comfortable, are more likely to be worn for longer (i.e. less likely to be exchanged for a fresh pair.) ATG feel that some changes are simply just not enough when it comes to the welfare of the environment and people. There should be NO compromises. Comfort and performance for unique working tools

14 How Clean Are Your Industrial Work Gloves? It's probably something that you never thought about before. It's certainly a conversation stopper at parties, but something very serious on a professional level. Gloves come out of the packet, so they have to be clean. Don't take this for granted though as a lot of the gloves today contain residual chemicals left in the glove from the production process. The cleanliness issue The problem is quite widespread - so say studies by the Institute of Occupational Medicine (BGFA) at the Ruhr University in Bochum (Germany), and the Danish Technological Institute for the Environment. The BGFA found that 45% of the feather gloves tested positive to Chromium (VI) impurities, despite the fact that most modern tanning agents are free from large amounts of Chromium (VI). If I stop using leather gloves and only use synthetic gloves will everything be OK? The simple and direct answer to that is NO. You always need to check any glove you're using, even if it is from one of the large, well known manufacturers. Extra attention should be given if you are evaluating polyurethane (PU) gloves, to make sure the parts per million of DMF and THF are respected. So what should I look for? Suitable gloves There are three important elements to be considered when choosing suitable gloves relating to the way they are produced, how ciean they are when they come out of the packet and the dermatological aspect for continual use. Production processes more than 0.1% of substances of very high concern within their product. REACH is 849 pages long and took seven years to pass, and it has been described as the most complex legislation in the EU's history. It is the strictest law to date, so companies complying with - not to be confused with committed to - REACH, will be making cleaner products. Out of the packet cleanliness Oeko-Tex is the international testing and certification system for textiles, limiting the use of certain chemicals. It has become established as a safety standard throughout the textile manufacturing chain and enables checks to be made for any harmful substances at each stage in the production process. This Oeko-Tex label is a good indicator of product cleanliness as it comes out of the packet. aspect has to be taken into consideration. Think of it another way. Why would you pay for something to go on your hand that is going to damage your health? Unfortunately, this is the case for many glove users today, but it doesn't have to be you or your workforce. It's essential to check if the gloves are dermatologically accredited - and don't fall into the trap of thinking that the more expensive they are, or the larger the company they come from, the cleaner they will be. How can ATG help? You can choose from our focused range with the confidence that ALL our gloves are Dermatologically Accredited. Additionally, they are manufactured in our own factories in accordance with the REACH European Community Regulation on chemicals (EC 1907/2006). Likewise, the Danish Technological Institute for the Environment found 35% of the leather gloves tested contained Chromium (Vt) in levels above the acceptable parts per million (PPM) guides for harmful ingredients. REACH is the European Union regulation adopted in the spirit of protecting human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals. Companies selling within the EU cannot have Dermatological aspect As professional work gloves are going to be on the skin for long periods of time, day in, day out, the dermatological They are yearly tested and in accordance with the Oeko- Tex 100 standard. We are also ISO 9001 certified and ISO accredited.
