72 Energy Star for Homes V3 Issues Lost market traction in 2012 Large push back from Homebuilders No good ROI Non existent in Midwest & Mid America Why? Went from Energy Program to include Durability Water Conversation Indoor Air Quality HVAC Credentialing & Start up

73 Energy Star for Homes V in review 25% new home market penetration Study showing 32% reduced risk of mortgage default More HVAC jumping on board or not getting the job Incentives

74 EA Performance Path Option 1: LEED Energy Budget (MBtu/yr) Modeled annual energy usage < LEED Energy Budget where: LEED Energy Budget is based on the ENERGY STAR for Homes version 3 (with several modifications). 1 Point per 1-3% < ESH v3 Option 2: HERS Index w/ Home Size Adj. Modeled annual energy usage < HERS 70 1 Point per 1-3 HERS Index Points < 70 Home Size Adjuster: +1 point per 4% decrease in CFA < ESH v3 benchmark home -1 point per 4% increase in CFA > ESH v3 benchmark home `
