Site visits can only be arranged for the following dates and times: 2016/06/07from 10h00 to 11h00 or 2016/06/09 or 2016/06/10 from 10h00 to 11h00 your request to: stating the date for which a meeting will be required. TERMS OF REFERENCE The South African Qualifications Authority seeks to appoint a service provider through a bidding process to provide a complete service as outlined in the Scope of work below. SAQA is a member of the Green Building Council and therefore remains committed to enforce operational practices that minimize the environmental impact. The appointed contractor shall be required to make provision under item 12 of the terms of reference to dispose of building rumble in a responsible manner and at the same time comply with all Health & Safety regulations in terms of COIDA and Workman Compensation requirements. Alterations on the 5 th Floor SAQA House Scope of Work Item Quantity Description Specification 1 1 Remove existing door for re-use 2 3 Remove existing glass shop fronts for re-use 3 5 metre Demolish existing partition walls and remove rubble from site 4 12 metre Build new partition 2.3 m with black powder coated aluminium finishes 5 2 Re-install old glass panels in new position 6 1 Re-install old door in new position 7 1 Supply and install new full height hollow core door in a black powder coated frame complete with lockset 8 24 metre Supply & fit - Black powder coated aluminium skirting 9 110m2 Prepare and paint interior walls with SABS approved PVA paint as per colour to be specified m Prepare and paint new door with SABS approved paint as per colour to be specified 11 1m2 PC amount for reception floor tiles to be made good if necessary 12 Item P&G and to keep the site clean & H&S compliant CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH QUOTATIONS ARE TO BE SUBMITTED SAQA reserves the right to reject any quotation that, in its opinion, is not according to the specification. The bidder will be disqualified should any attempt be made by the service provider, either directly or indirectly, to canvass SAQA, or any of its employees in respect of the quotation between the date of the quotation and the date of award. SAQA reserves the right not to accept the lowest quotation, as the quality of the proposal and the ability to deliver within a short period of time will play a major role when the proposals are evaluated. Similarly SAQA is not bound to select any of the service providers quoting for this requirement. SAQA reserves the right to award only part of the contract, if it deems necessary. 3 SUBMISSION OF QUOTATIONS Quotations must be received before the deadline as indicated in the Request for Quotation. The building is situated on 1067 Arcadia Street, Hatfield, Pretoria. SAQA is a member of the Green Building Council and therefore remains committed to enforce operational and procurement standards which supports environmental sustainability. Closing date 13 June 2016 Valid Tax Clearance Certificate required. The successful bidder will need to complying with all the Health & Safety Regulations as per the Act of 1993 Request for Quotation Alterations -5 th Floor Version 10 Page 4

5 All employees that will be utilized by the successful bidder for this project must be registered for COIDA and Workman Compensation.
