1 Replace Roof Henderson Beach State Park Project #61012 Restrooms E & F Scope Of Work Base Bid Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and permitting to successfully remove and replace existing roof and (6) skylights from Restroom E (Building No. BL E) and install new roof and skylights, as per the contract documents. Description of Existing Conditions: Prior to bidding, the contractor shall be responsible for field verifying all sizes and dimensions of the roofs, quantities of materials required and site specific needs to successfully complete the re-roofing project. The contractor shall coordinate the scheduling of their onsite observations with the park staff. Please contact the Daniel Laird, Park Manger at to schedule site and prior to arrival. The each building is nearly identical in construction. The buildings are located in the day use area. The existing roof covering consists of standing seam metal over a felt underlayment on 2x6 tongue & groove structural decking. Each roof is approximately 1,942 sq. ft. each contractor to field verify actual square footage. There are six (6), 3 x5 skylights, verify dimensions, on each building. Both restrooms are open to the public and are located in the day use area. One restroom will remain open at all times while the roof of the other restroom is being replaced. Description of Selective Demolition Work: 1. The contractor shall remove all materials down to the existing structural roof deck and clean the deck of all debris. The items to be demolished include: Remove all existing roof materials and associated flashings and fasteners. Remove all skylights and associated curbs. Remove all misc. electrical connections and light sensors. Remove the abandoned sections of the water piping back to the existing valve in the mechanical chase and permanently cap the end of the lines. Remove all pipe penetration flashings. 2. All demolished materials shall be removed from the site and disposed of in accordance with all laws and regulations. 3. The contractor shall inspect the structural roof deck and report any and all damage to the owner. Repair work to the structural deck shall be executed as per the owners direction to generally match the existing deck. 4. The contractor shall protect all property and vegetation from damage. This includes damage to the interior of the building if the roof is left uncovered during inclement weather. Damaged property or vegetation shall either be repaired or replaced by the contractor. 5. The contractor shall maintain a 6 high chain link construction fence around the entire perimeter of the building during construction.

5 Page 5 of 5 Description of Installation Work: 1. Existing surface preparation shall include cleaning all debris from the roof deck. 2. The contractor shall install new pressure treated fascia at damaged locations and paint the new material to match the existing. 3. The contractor shall install new flashing as per specification section SHEET METAL FLASHING AND TRIM. This includes pipe penetration flashing, roof curb flashing at the skylights and sidewall flashing at the upper wall between the two roof sections. 4. The contractor shall install a new metal roof, underlayment and all associated materials to provide a weathertight installation as per specification section SHEET METAL ROOFING, ALUMINUM (040). 5. The contractor shall re-install existing skylights, curbing and flashing as per specification section UNIT SKYLIGHTS 6. The contractor shall install new, stainless steel bird screen and fasteners over existing holes. The holes are typical at all column to roof junction point. 7. Clean entire job site of all roofing debris and materials, including a full sweep of the work area with magnets. 8. Remove construction fence only after all cleanup activities have been completed.
