DN NUMBER HERE Elevator control setup with Entrapass Special or Corporate edition with KT-400 Scenario: The purpose of this application note is to provide a quick reference for field technicians how to setup Elevator control with KT-400 controllers. In this particular scenario will be using Entrapass Special edition with KT-400 to control 2 elevator cabs of 16 floors each. Requirements: EntraPass Special or Corporate edition KT-400 firmware can control up to 4 elevator cabs with 64 each. KT-MOD-REL 8 or KT-MOD-OUT16 relay extension modules (for use with a KT-400 controller). If using KT-MOD-OUT16 physical relays KT-RM1 are required to be connected on each output controlling a floor. Note: Depending of the amount of expansion modules used to control the floors, it may require additional power supply. The KT-400 SPI provide 12 volts 500Ma. For use with KT-400 KT-MOD-REL8 1 Cab 8 floors 1 KT-MOD-REL8 1 Cab 16 floors 2 KT-MOD-REL8 1 Cab 24 floors 3 KT-MOD-REL8 1 Cab 32 floors 4 KT-MOD-REL8 1 Cab 40 floors 5 KT-MOD-REL8 1 Cab 48 floors 6 KT-MOD-REL8 1 Cab 56 floors 7 KT-MOD-REL8 1 Cab 64 floors 8 KT-MOD-REL8 2 Cabs 8 floors 2 KT-MOD-REL8 2 Cabs 16 floors 4 KT-MOD-REL8 2 Cabs 24 floors 6 KT-MOD-REL8 2 Cabs 32 floors 8 KT-MOD-REL8 2 Cabs 40 floors 10 KT-MOD-REL8 2 Cabs 48 floors 12 KT-MOD-REL8 2 Cabs 56 floors 14 KT-MOD-REL8 2 Cabs 64 floors 16 KT-MOD-REL8 3 Cabs 8 floors 3 KT-MOD-REL8 3 Cabs 16 floors 6 KT-MOD-REL8 3 Cabs 24 floors 9 KT-MOD-REL8 3 Cabs 32 floors 12 KT-MOD-REL8 3 Cabs 40 floors 15 KT-MOD-REL8 3 Cabs 48 floors 18 KT-MOD-REL8 3 Cabs 56 floors 21 KT-MOD-REL8 3 Cabs 64 floors 24 KT-MOD-REL8 4 Cabs 8 floors 4 KT-MOD-REL8 4 Cabs 16 floors 8 KT-MOD-REL8 4 Cabs 24 floors 12 KT-MOD-REL8 4 Cabs 32 floors 16 KT-MOD-REL8 4 Cabs 40 floors 20 KT-MOD-REL8 4 Cabs 48 floors 24 KT-MOD-REL8 4 Cabs 56 floors 28 KT-MOD-REL8 4 Cabs 64 floors 32 KT-MOD-REL8 For use with KT-400 KT-MOD-OUT16 1 Cab 16 floors 1 KT-MOD-OUT16 1 Cab 32 floors 2 KT-MOD-OUT16 1 Cab 48 floors 3 KT-MOD-OUT16 1 Cab 64 floors 4 KT-MOD-OUT16 2 Cab 16 floors 5 KT-MOD-OUT16 2 Cab 32 floors 6 KT-MOD-OUT16 2 Cab 48 floors 7 KT-MOD-OUT16 2 Cab 64 floors 8 KT-MOD-OUT16 3 Cabs 16 floors 2 KT-MOD-OUT16 3 Cabs 32 floors 4 KT-MOD-OUT16 3 Cabs 48 floors 6 KT-MOD-OUT16 3 Cabs 64 floors 8 KT-MOD-OUT16 4 Cabs 16 floors 10 KT-MOD-OUT16 4 Cabs 32 floors 12 KT-MOD-OUT16 4 Cabs 48 floors 14 KT-MOD-OUT16 4 Cabs 64 floors 16 KT-MOD-OUT16 Configuring Elevator Control Using Entrapass The following pages describe the procedure required to configure the pre-installed KT hardware for elevator control as well as to program access levels on user access cards. This procedure takes the form of an example in which EntraPass Special Edition will be used to setup KT-400 controllers compatible for use in this application. The procedure will be divided in a few steps. Step A accesses logical component screens (schedule, access level, cards) to define cardholder access into the EntraPass system. Step B involves configuring a KT-400 door controller with four KT-MOD-REL8 relay extension modules for control of two elevator cabs over 16 floors;

Note: Keep in mind that the upcoming instructions apply to EntraPass Special and Corporate Edition software. Step A: Defining Logical Components Go to Definition floor and select the site Click on new and label each floor accordingly. Repeat above step for every floor. Once the floors have been defined Save the configuration. Go to Groups and select Floor Group. Click on New Check each box in the State field for every floor to be part of the floor group Note: By default the system will always create an All Floors group. It cannot be deleted or modified. Go to Devices, Controller and select the controller for the Elevator control Go to Elevator Tab and associate each relay to the corresponding floor Save the configurations Step B: Setting up the KT-400 environment with KT-MOD-REL8 extension module From the EntraPass workstation user interface, go to the Devices tab and select Controller to display the controller definition window. Select the controller in question

Go to KT-400 tab and click on SPI modules configuration Note: If you are using EntraPass Corporate Edition or EntraPass Global Edition, first select the gateway connected to the site containing the KT elevator controller. Click on the Output module tab Click on Add and select the expansion module accordingly KT-MOD-REL8 or KT-MOD-OUT16 Click on Use as elevator equipment In the Elevator field select Door 1 which represents elevator cab 1 In the Relays field select Elevator outputs #1-8.

Note: Relay module #2 will be defined as Door 1 Elevator outputs 9-16 Relay module #3 will be defined as Door 2 Elevator outputs 1-8 Relay module #4 will be defined as Door 2 Elevator outputs 9-16 What happened to the elevator TAB in the controller? Go to Elevator Tab and associate each relay to the corresponding floor Save the configurations Go to Devices, Door and select Door 1 Under the General tab in the miscellaneous field check Elevator cab. Once this option is activated a new Elevator tab will appear. Repeat above step for Door 2.

Note: it is not recommended to use a door contact when defined as Elevator cab It is possible to configure up to two unlock schedules for two floor groups on each Elevator cab door Assigning a public unlock schedule to the elevator: Select the elevator cab door and go to Elevator Tab Select the unlock schedule to be applied Select the specific floor group Defining Access level for card : Go to Users and select Access Level Click on new label the access level name Select the schedule and the floor group

Note: Once the unlock schedule of the floor group has ended; each user has to present the card at the reader. If they have access at this point on the elevator cab control panel the user will have the possibility to press on floors part of that group. Assigning the Access level to Users Go to Users Select a card Go to Access level Tab and assign the appropriate access level to user. Quick tips 1. When relay module boards are defined has elevator control all relays will be activated (Normally Open). All LED s on the relays module KT-MOD-REL8 will be ON. 2. In case of failure all floors will be in free access 3. They are two different lengths 16 (KT-MOD-SPI-16) or 36 (KT-MOD-SPI-36) Do not extend the SPI cable for the expansion modules. 4. EntraPass Special or Corporate Edition offer 2 schedules per elevator cab for the public unlocking Only Entrapass Global Edition with global Gateways Windows, KT-NCC offers 1 schedule per floor. 5. Once defined as elevator cab; they will be available under the Operation/Elevators for manual operations. 6. The operator has the option to do manual operation on the elevator doors. 7. Lock elevator floor or group of elevator floors: will manually lock the selected elevator floor or group of elevator floors.

8. Unlock elevator floors Unlock elevator floor or group of elevator floors: The selected elevator floor or group of elevator floors will be manually unlocked and will remain unlock until the next valid change of the unlocking schedule or an operator manually locks the elevator floor or group of elevator floors. 9. Temporarily lock/unlock elevator floor or group of elevator floors: Temporarily unlocks an elevator floor or group of elevator floors for a preset delay. Once the delay expires, the elevator floor or group of elevator floors re -lock automatically. On the KT-400 the maximum delay is 18:12: One time access elevator will allow free access to the elevator floor or a group for the duration of door unlock time setting by default it is 10 sec. 11. Door back to schedule will re-apply the schedule for an elevator or a group of elevators. 12. Enable floor Enable elevator floor: will enable a previously disabled elevator floor or floor group. 13. Disable floor Disable elevator floor: will disable an elevator floor or floor group and users will not be able to access that elevator floor or floor group, even if they have access rights.
