ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE 95% COMPACTION FOR BACKFILL. ix.the ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE THE WORK SITE TO ITS PRE-EXISTING CONDITION; THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO SHRUBS, GRASS, LANDSCAPE, ROADS, SIDEWALKS, IRRIGATION SYSTEM(S), ETC. x.the ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ANY WORK SITE RELATED WASTE MATERIAL AND KEEP THE WORK SITE CLEAN AT ALL TIMES. xi.the ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP ALL EMERGENCY EGRESS POI OPEN.

NMSU PD&E, UNIVERSITY ENGINEER AND ELECTRICAL SHOP SHALL BE INFORMED OF ALL CONCRETE POURS AND HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL BORES AS THEY PERTAIN TO THE NMSU MEDIUM VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN THE COORDINATE STRUCTURE OF THE HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL BORE FROM THE BORING COMPANY AND INCLUDE THIS AS PART OF THEIR RED-LINE AS-BUILT PACKAGE. B. A VISUAL INSPECTION OF ALL VAULT AND PULL BOX GROUND TERMINATIONS SHALL BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BY NMSU PD&E AND ELECTRICAL SHOP BEFORE THE LID IS INSTALLED. CONTACT D. HARRELL AT AND OR THE ELECTRIC SHOP SUPERVISOR AT C. ALL HIGH VOLTAGE APPARATUS, I.E. TRANSFORMERS, SWITCHES, ETC., SHALL SIT ON AN 8' X 8' X4 (OD) CONCRETE VAULT WITH A TYPE ANCHORS EMBEDDED IN THE CONCRETE LID. THE 8' X 8' X 4 VAULT IS THE MINIMUM SIZED VAULT. THE VAULT CAN BE POURED-IN-PLACE OR PRECAST. VAULTS SHALL BE SIZED SO THAT MV APPARATUS SHALL NOT OVERHANG VAULT LID. D. THE LECO EL PASO ELECTRIC 00 X 44 VAULT CAN BE UTILIZED IN SOME CASES. SEE SCOPE OF WORK FOR DETAILS. 00 X 44 VAULTS SHALL SIT ON A BY 6 POURED-IN-PLACE, 000 PSI CONCRETE FOOTING OR HAVE CONCRETE BLOCKS PLACED AT EACH CORNER (LECO). E. PULL BOXES SHALL HAVE A ONE PIECE LID. APPARATUS INSTALLATIONS SHALL HAVE A TWO- PIECE LID. IN APPARATUS INSTALLATIONS THE MINIMUM LIFT OFF ACCESS LID SIZE SHALL BE 0 WIDE. THE VAULT LID CANNOT OVERHANG THE VAULT UNLESS WITH WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM UNIVERSITY ENGINEER. F. CABLE ACCESS TO APPARATUS SHALL BE VIA A BLOCK OUT IN VAULT LID. BLOCK OUTS FOR CABLE CONNECTIONS TO APPARATUS SHALL BE AS LARGE A POSSIBLE TO ACCOMMODATE INSTALLATION AND MOVEMENT OF CABLE. SEE EMV PRI FOR DETAILS ON CABLE INSTALLATION, SUPPORTS AND GROUNDING. G. EQUIPMENT DRAWING(S) OF RECORD HAVE PRECEDENCE OVER NMSU GUIDELINES AS PERTAINS TO EQUIPMENT MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS, VAULT LID CUTOUT LOCATIONS AND AREAS WHERE A-ANCHOR LIFTING SYSTEM INSERTS CAN BE PLACED. H. THE MAXIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN PULL BOXES AND VAULTS SHALL NOT EXCEED 500'. I. VAULTS SMALLER THAN 8' X 8' SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM SIX (6) INCH DEPTH OF ¾ GRAVEL IN THE BOTTOM WHEN MEASURED FROM THE TOP OF THE FOOTING OR BLOCKS DEPENDING ON APPLICATION. A CONTINUOUS PIECE OF 4/0 SOFT-DRAWN BARE COPPER WIRE SHALL ENCIRCLE THE VAULT AND BE IRREVERSIBLY BONDED TO THE GROUND ROD. THE REBAR IN THE FOOTING SHALL BE GROUNDED TO THE 4/0 VAULT GROUND WITH A 4/0 SOFT DRAWN BARE COPPER WIRE. THE 4/0 GROUND WIRE IN THE CONDUIT(S) SHALL BE GROUNDED TO THE 4/0 VAULT GROUND. VAULT APPARATUS SHALL BE GROUNDED TO THE 4/0 VAULT GROUND WITH A CONTINUOUS LENGTH OF 4/0 GROUND CABLE. L. DUCT BANK CONDUIT SHALL ENTER THE VAULT UNDER THE LIFT OFF LID, NOT UNDER THE LID THAT THE APPARATUS SITS ON. CONDUCT ENTERING THE VAULT ALONG THE LONG EDGE SHALL ENTER THE VAULT UTILIZING LONG SWEEP 90 DEGREE ELLS. CONDUCT ENTERING THE VAULT ALONG THE SHORT EDGE SHALL ENTER THE VAULT UTILIZING A 45 DEGREE SWEEP. CONDUIT THAT ENTERS THE VAULT UNDER THE APPARATUS, IF REQUIRED, SHALL ENTER THE VAULT USING 45 DEGREE ELLS. ALL CONDUIT ENDS SHALL BE CAPPED WITH A BELL END. M.A 4/0 SOFT DRAWN BARE OR THHN COPPER GROUND WIRE SHALL RESIDE IN THE 4 CONDUIT. THE THHN JACKET CAN BE GREEN, OR BLACK WITH GREEN PHASE TAPE ON THE ENDS. N. ALL DUCT BANKS SHALL UTILIZE A MINIMUM OF TWO () 4 SCHEDULE 40 PVC CONDUITS SUPPORTED BY A BASE SPACE AND SEPARATED BY A CONDUIT SPACER. CONDUITS SHALL BE COMPLETELY COVERED WITH 000-PSI DYED RED CONCRETE. O. A 50# MULE TAPE SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ALL SPARE CONDUITS. P. WHERE APPLICABLE, TWO () PVC (OR MORE) CONDUITS SHALL BE INSTALLED ON TOP OF THE POURED DUCT BANK. CONCRETE COVER IS NOT REQUIRED ON THESE CONDUITS. PULL TAPE SHALL BE INSTALLED IN EMPTY CONDUITS. ALL DUCT BANK SYSTEMS SHALL BE GISED AS INSTALLED AND TRANSMITTED TO NMSU IN ELECTRONIC FORM FOR INCLUSION INTO THE NMSU GIS SYSTEM. R. ALL EXCAVATED AND CUT AREAS RELATED TO DUCT BANK INSTALLATION SHALL BE RETURNED TO ORIGINAL PRE CONSTRUCTION CONDITION. S. ALL MEDIUM VOLTAGE CONDUIT OPENINGS SHALL BE SEALED USING TYCO RAYFLATE DUCT SEALING SYSTEM (RDSS), POYWATER FST OR PREAPPROVED EQUIVALENT TO PROVIDE WATERTIGHT SEALING OF CONDUIT ENDS. T. ALL APPARATUS SHALL BE BOLTED TO THE VAULT LID USING ½ HILTI STYLE DROP-IN ANCHORS, AND ZINC COATED BOLTS, WASHERS, AND LOCK WASHERS. U. THE MAXIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN THE BUILDING MDP AND THE STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER SHALL BE 50'. THE MAIN DISTRIBUTION PANEL (MDP) MAY RESIDE IN THE BUILDING BUT OCCASIONALLY EXTERIOR TO THE BUILDING. V.
