1 MPA Project No. W281 Project Title: Transient Ramp and East Taxilane Rehabilitation, Gate 14 Replacement Location: Worcester Regional Airport, Worcester Massachusetts RESPONSES TO BIDDERS QUESTIONS Date: March 30, 2018 The attention of Contractors submitting General Bids and or Filed Sub-Bids for the above referenced project is called to the following Responses to Questions and/or RFI s. Responses to Questions: The following questions were submitted by J.H. Lynch and Sons, Inc. via electronic mail to from Jonathan Nesser, dated March 23, 2018: Item #1 - IIB 4.1 The Special Provisions state the Contractor shall and shall complete the work fully and acceptably within TWENTY-EIGHT (28) calendar days after a construction Notice to Proceed. However, per P , a period of 30 days shall elapse between placement of a bituminous surface course or seal coat and application of the paint. Is there a 2 nd completion date for the permanent markings? The contract clock will be stopped for purpose of complying with the P-620 requirements Item #2 FE101 Will the Contractor be paid under Item M to mill the pavement to the limits shown in preparation for paving? Will the Contractor be paid under Item P to pave the milled section of pavement? Yes 1

2 Item #3 - P-152 For the excavation required for the concrete pad, will the Contractor be paid to remove the existing pavement under Item P and also to excavate the existing base course under Item P-152-1? Yes Item #4 - P-603 In addition to be applied to the milled surface, will tack coat be required in between the 2 lifts of P-401? Yes Item #5 - P Shall the permanent markings to be installed without beads under P be limited to the red, pink, black and green paint colors? Please refer to P-620 specification Item #6 - L-110 L states that conduit spacers will not be used. However, in L , it states that ducts shall be supported and spaced apart using approved spacers at intervals not to exceed 5 feet. Please clarify. 2

3 Item #7 - L states that concrete backfill for all duct bank installed in infield areas and areas of existing pavement shall be as specified under Project Item P-611. However, the details on E202 indicate that 3,000psi concrete is to be used. Please clarify. Item #8 - E202 Standard Handhole Detail There is a note See Handhole Note 4. Lynch and Sons, Inc. via electronic mail to CPBidQuestions@massport.com from Jonathan Nesser, dated March 27, 2018: Item #10 - M Saw and Seal Sheet C201 states that saw and seal at slotted drain to be paid for under Item M Sheet C301 states that saw and seal at project limits and between phases shall be paid under Item M

Please clarify what is being paid under Item M Item #12 - P Temporary Pavement Markings Will this item be used for the installation of markings on milled surface or will this item be used for the initial paint application on the bituminous surface course? Please read specification P-620 and construction phasing for more information regarding this question.
