2 REQUEST FOR BIDS (RFB # ) FOR PURCHASE OF 316L SS STORAGE TANK FOR THE NUTRIENT REDUCTION FACILITY The Lake County Water Authority (LCWA) seeks bids from qualified Stainless Steel Tank manufacturers representatives to supply a new 316L SS Alum Storage Tank for the Nutrient Reduction Facility (NuRF). The LCWA desires to replace over time all the six alum storage poly tanks at the NuRF; and may consider as part of this bid the purchase of additional 316L SS tanks. General Specifications: Construction: 3/16" Type 316L Stainless Steel Grade. Finish: Tank interior to be cleaned to natural stainless steel mill finish. Exterior of the tank to be abrasive blasted to a uniform matte finish. Linings (Interior and Exterior): none Working Pressure: none Minimum Design Temperature: > 90 F (alum shipments arrive at NuRF at this temperature) Calculated Capacities / Volume in U.S. Gallons: Design Capacity: 12,150 gallons Dimensions for a vertical above ground storage tank: Suggested dimensions to meet a 12,150 gallon capacity are: Diameter: O.D. and Overall Height: 15-0 to 17-0 ¾ depending on type of dome (Note: Figure #1 and #2 are provided as a reference to the tank s dimensions in use at the NuRF) Tank Bottom: Flat 1/4" Type 316L SS Grade Tank shell and conical roof (dome): To be fabricated with 3/16" Type 316L SS Grade. Lifting Lungs: Tank must be equipped with lifting lugs for both vertical and horizontal lifting of the tank when empty Tank Supports: Eight (8) anchor lugs equally spaced around the bottom perimeter of the tank, as well as necessary transportation tie-down lugs and grounding lugs. Tank Openings/accessories: One (1) - 24 full opening hinged Manway on the tank dome. Manway in 316L SS Grade or plastic One (1) L SS Grade or PVC nozzle with a detachable gooseneck vent One (1) L SS Grade or PVC nozzle on the roof of the tank to accommodate a 3 fill line to pour the alum in the tank (note: the fill pipe is also composed of an exterior pipe and an interior pipe that goes all the way to near the bottom of the tank. Two (2) L SS Grade or PVC overflow nozzle on the shell of the tank One (1) exterior access ladder fabricated per OSHA standards Tank exterior piping anchors or pipe free standing supports One (1) reverse float level gauge with numbers stencil in tank or placed a ruler to read tank levels. Notes: Figure #1 and #2, and associated pictures in the bid package are being provided as a reference to show the tank s dimensions/accessories/features currently in use at the NuRF. The current drawings and photos are based on the existing poly tanks (high density cross-linked polyethylene) which are to be replaced one at a time with Type 316L SS tanks. The poly tanks in use at the NuRF have the following accessories (1) 24 strapped Manway Cover (lid) made in SS or plastic (Picture #1) Page 2 of 7

3 (2) 4 Drain Connection (Picture # 1 & 2) suitable for flange x joint IMFO fitting assembly. (3) 17 PVC Ladder with return and cage (Pictures # 1 & 6) attached with a metal bracket and SS bolts and gaskets. (4) 4 PVC Overflow Pipe (Picture # 3 & 5) with 2 PVC bolted flange fittings with stainless Steel bolts with gaskets. The overflow pipe is composed of an exterior pipe and an interior pipe that goes all the way to the bottom of the tank. (5) 3 PVC Fill Pipe (Picture # 4 & 5) with 2 PVC bolted flange fittings with stainless Steel bolts with gaskets. The fill pipe is also composed of an exterior pipe and an interior pipe that goes all the way to the bottom of the tank. (6) Clear pipe level gauge with numbers stencil in tank (Picture 7 and 8 shows an example of reverse float gauge with a ruler in a large mixing tank at the NuRF). Conditions: Each proposal must include a properly completed three-page Proposal Submittal Sheet, supplied by the Authority, and shall be accompanied by a tank drawing showing the tank design/dimensions, type of materials for the accessories, warranty terms/description and other descriptive material. The purchase will be based on the best overall combination of tank, accessories and delivery cost. The Lake County Water Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof. Upon Bid award notification, vendor shall manufacture and deliver tank to the Lake County Water Authority- Nutrient Reduction Facility at C.R. 48, Mont Dora, FL within 90 days. RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids, with RFB# clearly marked on outside of envelope, must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Lake County Water Authority office, SR 19, Tavares, Florida , at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. ALL BIDS WHETHER HAND DELIVERED OR MAILED MUST BE AT SAID OFFICE BEFORE THE ABOVE STATED DEADLINE TO BE CONSIDERED. NO EXCEPTIONS. Page 3 of 7
