Proficient in the use of engineering software, such as SpaceGass and ETABS. Thorough and fundamental understanding of materials and engineering principles, allowing for solutions outside standard practice when required. Ability and enthusiasm to find good and efficient engineering solutions to unusual situations, problems and architectural forms. Countdown, Lincoln Rd, Henderson, Auckland, 2014 Design of supermarket rib raft foundation slab on challenging soft ground conditions to minimise piling costs. RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS Proxima Residences Apartments, Auckland, 2016 Supervise the finite element modelling of multiple schemes and design of major seismic resisting systems in this nine storey mixed commercial and residential complex on the Auckland CBD fringe. Multiple House Projects, PROJECT EXPERIENCE COMMERCIAL AND RETAIL PROJECTS Jet Park Hotel & Conference Centre, Auckland, Modelling and structural design on a tight deadline of this five storey precast panel, shell beam and in-situ reinforced concrete hotel and conference centre expansion of an existing facility on a tight schedule. Commercial Bay Development Stone Facade, Auckland CBD, 2017 Design and structural verification of stone cladding façade supports for the multiple new commercial and retail buildings in the redevelopment of an entire block on the Auckland Waterfront. The structural engineers for the main project were Holmes Consulting Group, the architects were Warren and Mahoney and Fletcher Construction Ltd is the primary building contractor. HEALTHCARE PROJECTS 219 Shakespeare Road, Auckland, Project lead for the developed design phase of this new three storey private oncological and surgical centre in Milford, Auckland. Key issues were consideration of performance requirements required for a medical centre in case of a seismic event, and tight tolerances for operation of mounted special surgical equipment and services. This was combined with a brief for the structural design to be very practical and efficient for erection and construction while enabling a bespoke and characteristic architectural form and layout which required extensive horizontal and vertical structural irregularity.
