And now, Walker floor boxes feature TopGuard protection that exceeds the 2003 UL scrub water standards. The TopGuard barrier secures both the electrical outlets and the communications connectors from water, dust and other debris. Start looking at infloor wire management in a whole new light with Walker floor boxes from Wiremold/Legrand.

3 Walker floor boxes are ideal for both low- and high-density applications, and for providing cost-effective wire and cable management in open space areas. While traditional floor boxes don t allow for much job-specific selection, Walker floor boxes are designed to fit almost any project, and any decor. To determine which floor boxes are best for your job, consider the following: Workstation Requirements Start by determining which services are required at the workstation. If the workstation requires power but not communications, then a single-gang box is needed. If multiple services are required, multigang boxes must be used, and it s also necessary to determine how many communications jacks are needed, and whether they will be mounted flush or recessed. Before choosing a floor box, know your needs. Aesthetics After determining your workstation requirements, choose floor box covers that support those needs and the aesthetics of the job. Walker floor boxes accommodate a wide array of covers, enabling you to easily fit any application to any decor, while providing a uniform appearance throughout the entire job. Both round and rectangular covers are available. Round covers are available in: solid brass painted zinc die-cast in gray, black and ivory nonmetallic in black, gray, ivory, bronze and aluminum Rectangular covers are available in: solid brass and brushed aluminum nonmetallic in black and brown Job Specific Conditions: When choosing the right floor box, it s also important to consider the specific job requirements. If the application is on-grade, a cast iron floor box or an approved on-grade stamped steel floor box may be needed. If the application is above-grade, a stamped steel box may be appropriate. Nonmetallic floor boxes can be used as a cost-effective alternative to stamped steel or cast iron when budget constraints are an issue. And for various depth concrete pours, floor boxes are available in both shallow and deep versions. Also, make sure the floor box has the required space or depth to accommodate power and communications requirements and can support covers that match the project s aesthetics. All these factors must be considered when choosing a floor box. The next sections of this brochure will guide you through each of the Walker floor box systems and their individual capabilities.
