2 1 INTRODUCTION M/s. Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company SAOC (Orpic) is intends to engage competence inspection services to support Reliability Inspection of lifting Equpiment such shakle, wire rope slings and rigging.etc at MAF Refinery. 2 SCOPE OF WORK This Scope of Work provides a summary of the technical scope, requirements of Testing and certification of lifting equipment; refer attachment A, and testing and certification of slings, and associated accessories as per attachment B 2.1 The Contractors scope of work shall include providing qualified and experienced Inspector who is competent enough to conduct inspections, and follow up activities in accordance with the applicable company regulations, standards, procedures and International codes and standard requirements. 2.2 The contractor shall provide a standard procedure for Lifting & Hoisting and testing, inspection certification guideline for Orpic approval. 2.3 Vendor to certify equipment in accordance with approved international standards 2.4 Contractor shall prepare data base for all MAF refinery Lifting equipment with renewal and expiry date and update the company of the due date of renewal the same to be prepare after site visit to check all the Lifting equipment in MAF and verify with the existing list. Refer attachment list 2.5 The scope of inspection mainly involving inspection/testing all expired lifting equipment s and identifies the defects items that do not meet safety standards requirement and provide recommendation for repair or replacement if required. 2.6 Contractor to make color coding for all potable and loose equipment to give visual indication of its certification status. Color code cycle to be used to indicate the current lifting accessories in use such as: Chains and wire ropes, slings, Hooks, Shackles, Eye bolts, block, beam clamps,lifing beams etc 2.7 Upon completion of Testing & examination of lifting equipment s and color coding test Certificate contractor to provide full report with certification for each and individual equipment tested including defect report. The report shall include date of inspection, reference, description of inspection, finding & results etc. 2.8 The contractor s services shall include all accessories for testing, mobilization of inspector, transportation, personal protection equipment Page 2 of 6

3 etc. 2.9 The tentative date for mobilization will be notified 1 week in advance but the actual date of mobilization will be notified 2 days in advance The person engaged by the contractor shall be familiar with international standards, codes and regulations of petroleum refining industry. The contractor shall submit the CV s of the personnel they intend to utilize for performing these inspections to the company for its approval. Only the inspectors approved by the company will be engaged by the contractor. 3 GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS 3.1 The Contractor shall fully comply with all Omani certification procedure, laws and regulations and shall be responsible for any and all penalties, fines, claims or losses arising from Contractor s obligations with respect to all such laws and regulations. 3.2 The Contractor shall be deemed to have obtained all information that is required to provide lifting equipment Inspection services covered by this scope of work and agreement. The lifting equipment Inspector supplied shall be approved by Orpic Reliability department. 3.3 Gate passes will be issued by Orpic MAF Refinery Security Office only after completing the safety induction course if required at MAF Refinery EHS department. 3.4 The Contractor is responsible for following good Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) standards at site and all the Inspection activities conducted by his manpower shall conform to MAF Refinery HSE rules and regulations in addition to applicable government rules & regulations. 4 PAYMENT TERMS 4.1 The contractor shall submit invoices within 15 days of completing the respective month. The payment shall be released within 30 days of receipt of the certified in invoices in Orpic Finance section. 4.2 The contractor shall make an invoice for his works based on day rate. Page 3 of 6
